¹Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.

¹เหตุฉะนั้น เมื่อมีพระสัญญาทรงประทานไว้แล้วว่า จะให้เข้าในที่สงบสุขของพระองค์ ให้เราทั้งหลายมีความยำเกรงว่า ในพวกท่านอาจจะมีผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดเหมือนไปไม่ถึง

²For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard.

²เพราะว่าเราได้มีผู้ประกาศข่าวประเสริฐให้แก่เราแล้ว เหมือนแก่เขาเหล่านั้นด้วย แต่ว่าถ้อยคำซึ่งเขาได้ยินนั้นไม่ได้เป็นประโยชน์แก่เขา เพราะว่าเขาไม่มีความเชื่อพ้องกับผู้ที่ได้ยิน

³For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest”; Psalm 95:11 although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

³เพราะว่าเราทั้งหลายที่เชื่อแล้วก็เข้าในที่สงบสุขนั้น เหมือนพระองค์ได้ตรัสไว้แล้วว่า `ตามที่เราได้ปฏิญาณด้วยความพิโรธของเราว่า "เขาจะไม่ได้เข้าสู่ที่สงบสุขของเรา"' แม้ว่างานนั้นสำเร็จแล้วตั้งแต่วางรากสร้างโลก

⁴For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works”; Genesis 2:2

⁴และมีข้อหนึ่งที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสถึงวันที่เจ็ดดังนี้ว่า `ในวันที่เจ็ดพระเจ้าทรงพักการงานทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์'

⁵and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.” Psalm 95:11

⁵และแห่งเดียวกันนั้นได้ตรัสอีกว่า `เขาจะไม่ได้เข้าสู่ที่สงบสุขของเรา'

⁶Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter therein, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,

⁶ครั้นเห็นแล้วว่ายังมีช่องให้บางคนเข้าในที่สงบสุขนั้น และคนเหล่านั้นที่ได้ยินข่าวประเสริฐคราวก่อนไม่ได้เข้าเพราะเขาไม่เชื่อ

⁷he again defines a certain day, today, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” Psalm 95:7-8

⁷พระองค์จึงได้ทรงกำหนดวันหนึ่งไว้อีก คือกล่าวในคัมภีร์ของดาวิดครั้นล่วงไปช้านานแล้วว่า "วันนี้" เหมือนตรัสเมื่อคราวก่อนแล้วว่า `วันนี้ ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ อย่าให้จิตใจของท่านแข็งกระด้างไป'

⁸For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

⁸เพราะว่าถ้าโยชูวาได้พาเขาเข้าสู่ที่สงบสุขนั้นแล้ว พระองค์ก็คงมิได้ตรัสในภายหลังถึงวันอื่นอีก

⁹There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

⁹ฉะนั้นจึงยังมีสะบาโตสำหรับชนชาติของพระเจ้า

¹⁰For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

¹⁰ด้วยว่าคนใดที่ได้เข้าไปในที่สงบสุขของตนแล้ว ก็ได้หยุดการงานของตน เหมือนพระเจ้าได้ทรงหยุดจากพระราชกิจของพระองค์

¹¹Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.

¹¹เหตุฉะนั้นให้เราทั้งหลายอุตส่าห์เข้าในที่สงบสุขนั้น เพื่อมิให้ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดตกหลงไปในการไม่เชื่อเช่นเขาเหล่านั้นซึ่งเป็นตัวอย่าง

¹²For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

¹²เพราะว่าพระวจนะของพระเจ้านั้นมีชีวิต และทรงพลานุภาพอยู่เสมอ คมยิ่งกว่าดาบสองคมใดๆ แทงทะลุกระทั่งจิตและวิญญาณ ตลอดข้อกระดูกและไขในกระดูก และสามารถวินิจฉัยความคิดและความมุ่งหมายในใจด้วย

¹³There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

¹³ไม่มีสิ่งเนรมิตสร้างใดๆ ที่ไม่ได้ปรากฏในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ แต่สิ่งสารพัดก็เปลือยเปล่าและปรากฏแจ้งต่อพระเนตรของพระองค์ผู้ซึ่งเราต้องเกี่ยวข้องด้วย

¹⁴Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession.

¹⁴เหตุฉะนั้นเมื่อเรามีมหาปุโรหิตผู้เป็นใหญ่ที่ผ่านฟ้าสวรรค์ไปแล้ว คือพระเยซูพระบุตรของพระเจ้า ขอให้เราทั้งหลายมั่นคงในการยอมรับของเราไว้

¹⁵For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

¹⁵เพราะว่าเรามิได้มีมหาปุโรหิตที่ไม่สามารถจะเห็นใจในความอ่อนแอของเรา แต่ได้ทรงถูกทดลองเหมือนอย่างเราทุกประการ ถึงกระนั้นพระองค์ก็ยังปราศจากบาป

¹⁶Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

¹⁶ฉะนั้นขอให้เราทั้งหลายจงมีใจกล้าเข้ามาถึงพระที่นั่งแห่งพระคุณ เพื่อเราจะได้รับพระเมตตา และจะได้พบพระคุณที่จะช่วยเราในขณะที่ต้องการ
