1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw:

2Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
2จงชูธงสัญญาณขึ้นบนภูเขาสูง จงเปล่งเสียงร้องเรียกเขาทั้งหลาย จงโบกมือให้เขาเข้าไปในประตูเมืองของขุนนาง
3I have commanded my consecrated ones; yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly exulting ones.
3ตัวเราเองได้บัญชาแก่ผู้ที่เราชำระให้บริสุทธิ์แล้ว เราได้เรียกชายฉกรรจ์ของเราให้จัดการตามความโกรธของเรา คือผู้ที่ยินดีในความสูงส่งของเรา
4The noise of a multitude is in the mountains, as of a great people; the noise of an uproar of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Yahweh of Armies is mustering the army for the battle.
4เสียงอึงอลบนภูเขาดั่งเสียงมวลชนมหึมา เสียงอึงคนึงของราชอาณาจักรทั้งหลายของบรรดาประชาชาติที่รวมเข้าด้วยกัน พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธากำลังระดมพลเพื่อสงคราม
5They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even Yahweh, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
5เขาทั้งหลายมาจากแผ่นดินอันไกล จากสุดปลายฟ้าสวรรค์ พระเยโฮวาห์และอาวุธแห่งพระพิโรธของพระองค์ เพื่อจะทำลายแผ่นดินทั้งสิ้น
6Wail; for the day of Yahweh is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
6จงพิลาปร่ำไห้ซิ เพราะวันแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์มาใกล้แล้ว วันนั้นจะมา เป็นการทำลายจากองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์
7Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone’s heart will melt.
7เพราะฉะนั้น ทุกๆมือก็จะอ่อนเปลี้ย และจิตใจของทุกคนก็จะละลายไป
8They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame.
8และเขาทั้งหลายจะตกใจกลัว ความเจ็บและความปวดจะเกาะเขา เขาจะทุรนทุรายดั่งหญิงกำลังคลอดบุตร เขาจะมองตากันอย่างตกตะลึง หน้าของเขาแดงเป็นแสงไฟ
9Behold, the day of Yahweh comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it.
9ดูเถิด วันแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์จะมา โหดร้ายด้วยพระพิโรธและความโกรธอันเกรี้ยวกราด ที่จะกระทำให้แผ่นดินเป็นที่รกร้าง และพระองค์จะทรงทำลายคนบาปของแผ่นดินเสียจากแผ่นดินนั้น
10For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.
10เพราะดวงดาวแห่งฟ้าสวรรค์ และหมู่ดาวในนั้น จะไม่ทอแสงของมัน ดวงอาทิตย์ก็จะมืดเมื่อเวลาขึ้น และดวงจันทร์จะไม่ส่องแสงของมัน
11I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the haughtiness of the terrible.
11เราจะลงโทษโลกเพราะความชั่วร้าย และคนชั่วเพราะความชั่วช้าของเขา เราจะกระทำให้ความเย่อหยิ่งของคนจองหองสิ้นสุด และปราบความยโสของคนโหดร้าย
12I will make people more rare than fine gold, even a person than the pure gold of Ophir.
12เราจะกระทำให้คนมีค่ามากกว่าทองคำเนื้อดี และมนุษย์มีค่ามากกว่าทองคำแห่งโอฟีร์
13Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of Yahweh of Armies, and in the day of his fierce anger.
13เพราะฉะนั้น เราจะกระทำให้ฟ้าสวรรค์สั่นสะเทือน และแผ่นดินโลกจะสะท้านพลัดจากที่ของมัน โดยพระพิโรธของพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา ในวันแห่งความโกรธอันเกรี้ยวกราดของพระองค์
14It will happen that like a hunted gazelle, and like sheep that no one gathers, they will each turn to their own people, and will each flee to their own land.
14คนทุกคนจะหันเข้าสู่ชนชาติของตนเอง และคนทุกคนจะหนีไปยังแผ่นดินของตนเอง ดั่งละมั่งที่ถูกล่าหรือเหมือนแกะที่ไม่มีผู้รวมฝูง
15Everyone who is found will be thrust through. Everyone who is captured will fall by the sword.
15ทุกคนที่เขาพบเข้าก็จะถูกแทงทะลุ และทุกคนที่รวมเข้าด้วยกันกับพวกเขาก็จะล้มลงด้วยดาบ
16Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped.

17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not value silver, and as for gold, they will not delight in it.

18Their bows will dash the young men in pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb. Their eyes will not spare children.
18คันธนูของเขาจะฟาดชายหนุ่มลงเป็นชิ้นๆ เขาจะไม่ปรานีต่อผู้บังเกิดจากครรภ์ นัยน์ตาของเขาจะไม่สงสารเด็ก
19Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be like when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
19และบาบิโลน ซึ่งโอ่อ่าในบรรดาราชอาณาจักร เมืองที่สง่าและเป็นที่ภูมิใจของชาวเคลเดีย จะเป็นดังเมืองโสโดมและเมืองโกโมราห์ เมื่อพระเจ้าทรงคว่ำมันเสียนั้น
20It will never be inhabited, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation. The Arabian will not pitch a tent there, neither will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.
20จะไม่มีใครเข้าอยู่ในบาบิโลน หรืออาศัยอยู่ตลอดทุกชั่วอายุ คนอาระเบียจะไม่กางเต็นท์ของเขาที่นั่น ไม่มีผู้เลี้ยงแกะที่จะให้แกะของเขานอนลงที่นั่น
21But wild animals of the desert will lie there, and their houses will be full of jackals. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will frolic there.
21แต่สัตว์ป่าจะนอนลงที่นั่น และบ้านเรือนในนั้นจะเต็มไปด้วยนกทึดทือ นกเค้าแมวจะอาศัยที่นั่น เมษปิศาจจะเต้นรำอยู่ที่นั่น
22Wolves will cry in their castles, and jackals in the pleasant palaces. Her time is near to come, and her days will not be prolonged.
22หมาจิ้งจอกจะเห่าหอนอยู่ในที่อาศัยอันรกร้าง และมังกรจะร้องอยู่ในวังแสนสุขของมัน เวลาของเมืองนั้นก็ใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว และวันเวลาของมันจะไม่ยืดให้ยาวไป
