¹The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:

¹ถ้อยคำของเยเรมีย์บุตรชายของฮิลคียาห์ ผู้หนึ่งในหมู่ปุโรหิต ผู้อยู่ตำบลอานาโธท ในแผ่นดินของเบนยามิน

²to whom the word of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

²พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงเยเรมีย์ในรัชกาลโยสิยาห์ โอรสของอาโมน กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ในปีที่สิบสามของรัชกาลนี้

³It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

³และมีมาในรัชกาลของเยโฮยาคิม โอรสของโยสิยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ จนถึงปลายปีที่สิบเอ็ดแห่งรัชกาลเศเดคียาห์ โอรสของโยสิยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ จนถึงการกวาดเยรูซาเล็มไปเป็นเชลยในเดือนที่ห้า

⁴Now the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

⁴แล้วพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า

⁵“Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came forth out of the womb, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

⁵"เราได้รู้จักเจ้าก่อนที่เราได้ก่อร่างตัวเจ้าที่ในครรภ์ และก่อนที่เจ้าคลอดจากครรภ์ เราก็ได้กำหนดตัวเจ้าไว้ เราได้แต่งตั้งเจ้าเป็นผู้พยากรณ์ให้แก่บรรดาประชาชาติ"

⁶Then I said, “Ah, Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” Yahweh! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”

⁶แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็กราบทูลว่า "อนิจจา ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า ดูเถิด ข้าพระองค์พูดไม่เป็น เพราะว่าข้าพระองค์เป็นเด็ก"

⁷But Yahweh said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for to whoever I shall send you, you shall go, and whatever I shall command you, you shall speak.

⁷แต่พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "อย่าว่าเจ้าเป็นแต่เด็ก เพราะเจ้าจะต้องไปหาทุกคนที่เราใช้ให้เจ้าไป และเราบัญชาเจ้าอย่างไรบ้าง เจ้าจะต้องพูด

⁸Don’t be afraid because of them; for I am with you to deliver you,” says Yahweh.

⁸อย่ากลัวหน้าเขาเลย เพราะเราอยู่กับเจ้า จะช่วยเจ้าให้พ้น" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

⁹Then Yahweh put forth his hand, and touched my mouth; and Yahweh said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

⁹แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเหยียดพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ถูกต้องปากข้าพเจ้า และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "ดูเถิด เราเอาถ้อยคำของเราใส่ในปากของเจ้า

¹⁰Behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

¹⁰ดูซิ ในวันนี้เราได้ตั้งเจ้าไว้เหนือบรรดาประชาชาติและเหนือราชอาณาจักรทั้งหลาย ให้ถอนออกและให้พังลง ให้ทำลายและให้คว่ำเสีย ให้สร้างและให้ปลูก"

¹¹Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”

¹¹ยิ่งกว่านี่พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า "เยเรมีย์เอ๋ย เจ้าเห็นอะไร" ข้าพเจ้ากราบทูลว่า "ข้าพระองค์เห็นไม้ตะพดอัลมันด์อันหนึ่ง"

¹²Then Yahweh said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”

¹²แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "เจ้าเห็นถูกต้องดีแล้ว เพราะเราจะเร่งเร้าถ้อยคำของเราเพื่อให้กระทำสำเร็จ"

¹³The word of Yahweh came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” I said, “I see a boiling caldron; and it is tipping away from the north.”

¹³พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าครั้งที่สองว่า "เจ้าเห็นอะไร" ข้าพเจ้ากราบทูลว่า "ข้าพระองค์เห็นหม้อกำลังเดือดอยู่หม้อหนึ่ง หันหน้าไปทางทิศเหนือ"

¹⁴Then Yahweh said to me, “Out of the north evil will break out on all the inhabitants of the land.

¹⁴แล้วพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าว่า "เหตุร้ายจะระเบิดจากทิศเหนือมาเหนือชาวแผ่นดินนี้ทั้งสิ้น

¹⁵For, behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says Yahweh; “and they shall come, and they shall each set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah.

¹⁵เพราะ ดูเถิด เราจะร้องเรียกครอบครัวทั้งปวงแห่งบรรดาราชอาณาจักรทิศเหนือ" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ "เขาทั้งหลายจะมา และต่างก็จะวางบัลลังก์ของตนไว้ที่ตรงทางเข้าประตูกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ตั้งสู้ล้อมรอบกำแพงทั้งหลาย และตั้งสู้หัวเมืองทั้งสิ้นของยูดาห์

¹⁶I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.

¹⁶และเราจะกล่าวคำพิพากษาของเราต่อหัวเมืองเหล่านั้น เพราะบรรดาความชั่วร้ายของเขาในการที่ได้ทอดทิ้งเรา และได้เผาเครื่องหอมบูชาพระอื่น และนมัสการสิ่งที่มือของตนได้กระทำไว้

¹⁷“You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.

¹⁷เพราะฉะนั้นส่วนเจ้าจงคาดเอวของเจ้าไว้ จงลุกขึ้นและบอกทุกอย่างที่เราบัญชาเจ้าไว้นั้นให้เขาฟัง อย่าหงอเพราะหน้าเขาเลย เกรงว่าเราจะทำให้เจ้าหงอต่อหน้าเขาทั้งหลาย

¹⁸For, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.

¹⁸เพราะ ดูเถิด ในวันนี้เรากระทำให้เจ้าเป็นเมืองมีป้อม เป็นเสาเหล็ก และเป็นกำแพงทองสัมฤทธิ์ สู้กับแผ่นดินทั้งหมด สู้กับบรรดากษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ กับเจ้านาย กับปุโรหิตและกับประชาชนแห่งแผ่นดินนี้

¹⁹They will fight against you; but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you,” says Yahweh, “to deliver you.”

¹⁹เขาทั้งหลายจะต่อสู้กับเจ้า แต่จะไม่ชนะเจ้า เพราะเราอยู่กับเจ้าเพื่อจะช่วยเจ้าให้พ้น" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
