¹In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

¹ในต้นรัชกาลเยโฮยาคิมราชบุตรของโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ พระวจนะนี้มาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ถึงเยเรมีย์ว่า

²Thus says Yahweh to me: Make bonds and bars, and put them on your neck;

²พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าดังนี้ว่า "จงทำสายรัดและแอกสำหรับตัวเจ้า จงสวมคอของเจ้า

³and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah;

³และส่งมันไปยังกษัตริย์แห่งเอโดม กษัตริย์แห่งโมอับและกษัตริย์แห่งคนอัมโมน กษัตริย์แห่งไทระ และกษัตริย์แห่งไซดอน ด้วยมือของทูตที่มาเข้าเฝ้าเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

⁴and give them a command to their masters, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, You shall tell your masters:

⁴จงฝากคำกำชับเหล่านี้แก่บรรดานายของเขาว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าจงกล่าวเรื่องต่อไปนี้ให้นายของเจ้าฟังว่า

⁵I have made the earth, the men and the animals that are on the surface of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I give it to whom it seems right to me.

⁵นี่คือเราเอง ผู้ได้สร้างโลก ทั้งมนุษย์และสัตว์ซึ่งอยู่บนพื้นดิน ด้วยฤทธานุภาพใหญ่ยิ่งและด้วยแขนที่เหยียดออกของเรา และเราจะให้แก่ผู้ใดก็ได้สุดแต่เราเห็นชอบ

⁶Now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the animals of the field also have I given him to serve him.

⁶บัดนี้ เราได้ให้แผ่นดินเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้นไว้ในมือของเนบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนผู้รับใช้ของเรา และเราได้ให้สัตว์ป่าทุ่งแก่เขาด้วยที่จะปรนนิบัติเขา

⁷All the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondservant.

⁷บรรดาประชาชาติทั้งสิ้นจะต้องปรนนิบัติตัวเขา ลูกและหลานของเขา จนกว่าเวลากำหนดแห่งแผ่นดินของท่านเองจะมาถึง แล้วหลายประชาชาติและบรรดามหากษัตริย์จะกระทำให้ท่านเป็นทาสของเขาทั้งหลาย

⁸It shall happen, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, says Yahweh, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

⁸แต่ต่อมาถ้าประชาชาติใด หรือราชอาณาจักรใด จะไม่ปรนนิบัติเนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนคนนี้ และไม่ยอมวางคอไว้ใต้แอกของกษัตริย์บาบิโลน เราจะลงโทษประชาชาตินั้นด้วยดาบ ด้วยการกันดารอาหาร และด้วยโรคระบาด พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ จนกว่าเราจะล้างผลาญเสียด้วยมือของเขา

⁹But as for you, don’t you listen to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreams, nor to your soothsayers, nor to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon:

⁹เพราะฉะนั้นอย่าฟังผู้พยากรณ์ หรือพวกโหรหรือคนช่างฝันของเจ้า หรือหมอดูหรือนักวิทยาคมของเจ้า ผู้ซึ่งกล่าวแก่เจ้าว่า "ท่านจะไม่ปรนนิบัติกษัตริย์แห่งกรุงบาบิโลนดอก"

¹⁰for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, and that I should drive you out, and you should perish.

¹⁰เพราะซึ่งเขาพยากรณ์ให้ท่านนั้นเป็นความเท็จ อันยังผลให้ท่านต้องโยกย้ายไกลไปจากแผ่นดินของท่าน และเราจะขับไล่ท่านออกไป และท่านจะพินาศ

¹¹But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that nation will I let remain in their own land, says Yahweh; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

¹¹แต่ประชาชาติใดซึ่งเอาคอของตนวางไว้ใต้แอกของกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนและปรนนิบัติท่าน เราจะละเขาไว้บนแผ่นดินของเขา เพื่อให้ทำไร่ไถนาและให้อาศัยอยู่ที่นั่น พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ'"

¹²I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.

¹²ข้าพเจ้าได้ทูลเศเดคียาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ตามบรรดาถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ว่า "จงเอาคอของท่านไว้ใต้แอกของกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน และปรนนิบัติเขาและประชาชนของเขา และจงมีชีวิตอยู่

¹³Why will you die, you and your people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

¹³ทำไมท่านกับชนชาติของท่านจะมาตายเสียด้วยดาบ ด้วยการกันดารอาหารและด้วยโรคระบาด ดังที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงลั่นวาจาเกี่ยวด้วยประชาชาติใดๆซึ่งจะไม่ปรนนิบัติกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน

¹⁴Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, You shall not serve the king of Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.

¹⁴อย่าฟังถ้อยคำของผู้พยากรณ์ผู้กล่าวแก่เจ้าว่า `ท่านจะไม่ปรนนิบัติกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนดอก' เพราะซึ่งเขาทั้งหลายพยากรณ์แก่ท่านนั้นก็เป็นการมุสา

¹⁵For I have not sent them, says Yahweh, but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you, and the prophets who prophesy to you.

¹⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราไม่ได้ใช้เขา แต่เขาพยากรณ์เท็จในนามของเรา ซึ่งยังผลให้เราต้องขับไล่เจ้าออกไปและเจ้าจะต้องพินาศ ทั้งตัวเจ้าและผู้พยากรณ์ทั้งหลายซึ่งพยากรณ์ให้แก่เจ้า"

¹⁶Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Don’t listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, Behold, the vessels of Yahweh’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon; for they prophesy a lie to you.

¹⁶และข้าพเจ้าก็ได้พูดกับปุโรหิตและประชาชนนี้ทั้งสิ้นว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า อย่าเชื่อฟังถ้อยคำของผู้พยากรณ์ของเจ้า ซึ่งพยากรณ์ให้แก่เจ้าว่า `ดูเถิด ไม่ช้าเขาจะนำเครื่องใช้ของพระนิเวศแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์กลับมาจากกรุงบาบิโลน' เพราะซึ่งเขาพยากรณ์แก่ท่านนั้นก็เป็นความเท็จ

¹⁷Don’t listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: why should this city become a desolation?

¹⁷อย่าเชื่อฟังเขาเลย จงปรนนิบัติกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนและมีชีวิตอยู่ ทำไมเมืองนี้จะร้างเปล่า

¹⁸But if they be prophets, and if the word of Yahweh be with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Armies, that the vessels which are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.

¹⁸ถ้าเขาเหล่านั้นเป็นผู้พยากรณ์ และถ้าพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์อยู่กับเขา ก็ขอให้เขาทูลวิงวอนต่อพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาว่า ให้เครื่องใช้ซึ่งยังเหลืออยู่ในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ และในพระราชวังของกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ และในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม อย่าให้ไปยังบาบิโลน

¹⁹For thus says Yahweh of Armies concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,

¹⁹เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้เกี่ยวกับบรรดาเสา ขันสาคร และขาตั้ง และเครื่องใช้อื่นๆที่เหลืออยู่ในเมืองนี้

²⁰which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn’t take, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

²⁰ที่เนบูคัดเนสซาร์กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนมิได้ริบเอาไป เมื่อท่านได้จับเอาเยโคนิยาห์ราชบุตรของเยโฮยาคิมกษัตริย์ของยูดาห์ และบรรดาขุนนางของยูดาห์และเยรูซาเล็มถูกกวาดต้อนจากกรุงเยรูซาเล็มไปเป็นเชลยยังกรุงบาบิโลน

²¹yes, thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem:

²¹พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้เกี่ยวด้วยเรื่องเครื่องใช้ซึ่งยังเหลืออยู่ในพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ ในพระราชวังของกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์และในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม

²²They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be, until the day that I visit them, says Yahweh; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

²²พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เครื่องใช้เหล่านี้จะถูกขนไปยังบาบิโลน และจะค้างอยู่ที่นั่นจนถึงวันที่เราเอาใจใส่มัน แล้วเราจึงจะนำมันกลับขึ้นมา และให้กลับสู่สถานที่นี้"
