1The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.
1พระวจนะซึ่งมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์ถึงเยเรมีย์ หลังจากที่เนบูซาระดานผู้บัญชาการทหารรักษาพระองค์ได้ปล่อยให้ท่านไปจากรามาห์ ครั้งเมื่อเขาจับท่านตีตรวนมาพร้อมกับบรรดาเชลยพวกกรุงเยรูซาเล็มและยูดาห์ ผู้ที่ถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลยยังบาบิโลน
2The captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, Yahweh your God pronounced this evil on this place;
2ผู้บัญชาการทหารรักษาพระองค์ได้นำเยเรมีย์มาแล้วพูดกับท่านว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทรงประกาศความร้ายนี้ต่อสถานที่นี้
3and Yahweh has brought it, and done according as he spoke: because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come on you.
3พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกระทำให้เป็นไปและทรงกระทำตามที่พระองค์ตรัสไว้ เพราะท่านทั้งหลายได้กระทำบาปต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ และไม่เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ สิ่งนี้จึงได้เป็นมาเหนือท่าน
4Now, behold, I release you this day from the chains which are on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will take care of you; but if it seems bad to you to come with me into Babylon, don’t: behold, all the land is before you; where it seems good and right to you to go, there go.
4ดูเถิด วันนี้ข้าพเจ้าปล่อยท่านจากโซ่ตรวนที่มือของท่าน ถ้าท่านเห็นชอบที่จะมายังกรุงบาบิโลนกับข้าพเจ้า ก็จงมาเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะดูแลท่านให้ดี แต่ถ้าท่านไม่เห็นชอบที่จะมายังกรุงบาบิโลนกับข้าพเจ้า ก็อย่ามา ดูซิ แผ่นดินทั้งหมดนี้อยู่ต่อหน้าท่าน ท่านจะไปที่ไหนก็ได้ตามแต่ท่านเห็นดีเห็นชอบที่จะไป"
5Now while he had not yet gone back, Go back then, he said, to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.
5ขณะเมื่อท่านยังไม่กลับไป เขากล่าวว่า "ท่านจงกลับไปหาเกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัม ผู้เป็นบุตรชายชาฟาน ผู้ซึ่งกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนได้แต่งตั้งให้เป็นผู้ว่าราชการบรรดาหัวเมืองยูดาห์ และอยู่กับเขาท่ามกลางประชาชน หรือจะไปที่ใดที่ท่านเห็นชอบจะไปก็ได้" ผู้บัญชาการทหารรักษาพระองค์จึงสั่งอนุมัติเสบียงและให้ของขวัญแก่เยเรมีย์ แล้วก็ปล่อยท่านไป
6Then went Jeremiah to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and lived with him among the people who were left in the land.
6เยเรมีย์ก็ไปหาเกดาลิยาห์ บุตรชายอาหิคัมที่มิสปาห์ และอาศัยอยู่กับเขาท่ามกลางประชาชนซึ่งเหลืออยู่ในแผ่นดินนั้น
7Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poorest of the land, of those who were not carried away captive to Babylon;
7เมื่อบรรดาหัวหน้าของกองทหารที่ในทุ่งนา คือพวกเขาและคนของเขาทั้งหลายได้ยินว่า กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนได้แต่งตั้งเกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัมให้เป็นผู้ว่าราชการในแผ่นดินนั้น และได้มอบชายหญิงกับเด็กผู้ที่เป็นคนจนในแผ่นดิน ซึ่งมิได้ถูกกวาดไปเป็นเชลยยังบาบิโลนไว้ให้ท่านนั้น
8then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.
8เขาทั้งหลายก็ไปหาเกดาลิยาห์ที่มิสปาห์ มีอิชมาเอลบุตรชายเนธานิยาห์ โยฮานันและโยนาธานบุตรชายคาเรอาห์ เสไรอาห์บุตรชายทันหุเมท บรรดาบุตรชายของเอฟายชาวเนโทฟาห์ เยซันยาห์บุตรชายชาวมาอาคาห์ ทั้งตัวเขาและคนของเขา
9Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, Don’t be afraid to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
9เกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัม ผู้เป็นบุตรชายชาฟานก็ได้ปฏิญาณให้แก่เขาและคนของเขา กล่าวว่า "อย่ากลัวในการที่จะปรนนิบัติคนเคลเดีย จงอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินและปรนนิบัติกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน แล้วท่านทั้งหลายก็จะอยู่เย็นเป็นสุข
10As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who shall come to us: but you, gather wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that you have taken.
10ส่วนตัวข้าพเจ้า ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะอาศัยอยู่ที่มิสปาห์ เพื่อจะปรนนิบัติคนเคลเดีย ผู้ซึ่งจะมาหาเรา แต่ฝ่ายท่านจงเก็บน้ำองุ่น ผลไม้ฤดูร้อน และน้ำมันและเก็บไว้ในภาชนะ และจงอยู่ในหัวเมืองซึ่งท่านยึดได้นั้น"
11Likewise when all the Jews who were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and who were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan;
11ในทำนองเดียวกัน เมื่อพวกยิวทั้งหลาย ซึ่งอยู่ที่โมอับและท่ามกลางคนอัมโมน และในเอโดมและในแผ่นดินอื่นๆทั้งสิ้น ได้ยินว่ากษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลนได้ทิ้งคนให้เหลือไว้ส่วนหนึ่งในยูดาห์และได้แต่งตั้งให้เกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัม ผู้เป็นบุตรชายชาฟานให้เป็นผู้ว่าราชการเหนือเขาทั้งหลาย
12then all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.
12แล้วพวกยิวทั้งปวงก็ได้กลับมาจากทุกที่ซึ่งเขาถูกขับไล่ให้ไปอยู่นั้น และมายังแผ่นดินยูดาห์มาหาเกดาลิยาห์ที่มิสปาห์ และเขาทั้งหลายได้เก็บน้ำองุ่นและผลไม้ในฤดูร้อนได้เป็นอันมาก
13Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,
13ฝ่ายโยฮานันบุตรชายของคาเรอาห์และบรรดาประมุขของกองทหารที่ในทุ่งนาได้มาหาเกดาลิยาห์ที่มิสปาห์
14and said to him, Do you know that Baalis the king of the children of Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take your life? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam didn’t believe them.
14และกล่าวแก่ท่านว่า "ท่านทราบหรือไม่ว่า บาอาลิสกษัตริย์ของคนอัมโมนได้ส่งให้อิชมาเอลบุตรชายเนธานิยาห์มาเอาชีวิตของท่าน" ฝ่ายเกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัมไม่เชื่อเขาทั้งหลาย
15Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?
15แล้วโยฮานันบุตรชายคาเรอาห์ได้พูดกับเกดาลิยาห์เป็นการลับที่มิสปาห์ว่า "จงให้ข้าพเจ้าไปฆ่าอิชมาเอลบุตรชายเนธานิยาห์เสีย และจะไม่มีใครทราบเรื่อง ทำไมจะให้เขาเอาชีวิตของท่าน แล้วพวกยิวทั้งหลายซึ่งมารวบรวมอยู่กับท่านจะกระจัดกระจายกันไป และคนยูดาห์ที่เหลืออยู่นี้ก็จะพินาศ"
16But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing; for you speak falsely of Ishmael.
16แต่เกดาลิยาห์บุตรชายอาหิคัมพูดกับโยฮานันบุตรชายคาเรอาห์ว่า "ท่านอย่าทำสิ่งนี้เลย เพราะที่ท่านพูดถึงอิชมาเอลนั้นเป็นความเท็จ"
