¹ “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

¹"เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่า ผู้ที่มิได้เข้าไปในคอกแกะทางประตู แต่ปีนเข้าไปทางอื่นนั้นเป็นขโมยและโจร

² But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

²แต่ผู้ที่เข้าทางประตูก็เป็นผู้เลี้ยงแกะ

³ The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

³นายประตูจึงเปิดประตูให้ผู้นั้น และแกะย่อมฟังเสียงของท่าน ท่านเรียกชื่อแกะของท่าน และนำออกไป

⁴ Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

⁴เมื่อท่านต้อนแกะของท่านออกไปแล้วก็เดินนำหน้า และแกะก็ตามท่านไปเพราะรู้จักเสียงของท่าน

⁵ They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”

⁵คนแปลกหน้าแกะจะไม่ตามเลย แต่จะหนีไปจากเขา เพราะไม่รู้จักเสียงของคนแปลกหน้า"

⁶Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.

⁶คำอุปมานั้นพระเยซูได้ตรัสกับเขาทั้งหลาย แต่เขาไม่เข้าใจความหมายของพระดำรัสที่พระองค์ตรัสกับเขาเลย

⁷Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.

⁷พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาอีกว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่า เราเป็นประตูของแกะทั้งหลาย

⁸ All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.

⁸บรรดาผู้ที่มาก่อนเรานั้นเป็นขโมยและโจร แต่ฝูงแกะก็มิได้ฟังเขา

⁹ I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.

⁹เราเป็นประตู ถ้าผู้ใดเข้าไปทางเรา ผู้นั้นจะรอด และเขาจะเข้าออก แล้วจะพบอาหาร

¹⁰ The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

¹⁰ขโมยนั้นย่อมมาเพื่อจะลักและฆ่าและทำลายเสีย เราได้มาเพื่อเขาทั้งหลายจะได้ชีวิต และจะได้อย่างครบบริบูรณ์

¹¹ I am the good shepherd. Isaiah 40:11; Ezekiel 34:11-12,15,22 The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

¹¹เราเป็นผู้เลี้ยงที่ดี ผู้เลี้ยงที่ดีนั้นย่อมสละชีวิตของตนเพื่อฝูงแกะ

¹² He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them.

¹²แต่ผู้ที่รับจ้างมิได้เป็นผู้เลี้ยงแกะ และฝูงแกะไม่เป็นของเขา เมื่อเห็นสุนัขป่ามา เขาจึงละทิ้งฝูงแกะหนีไป สุนัขป่าก็ชิงเอาแกะไปเสีย และทำให้ฝูงแกะกระจัดกระจายไป

¹³ The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn’t care for the sheep.

¹³ผู้ที่รับจ้างนั้นหนีเพราะเขาเป็นลูกจ้างและไม่เป็นห่วงแกะเลย

¹⁴ I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;

¹⁴เราเป็นผู้เลี้ยงที่ดี และเรารู้จักแกะของเรา และแกะของเราก็รู้จักเรา

¹⁵ even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

¹⁵เหมือนพระบิดาทรงรู้จักเรา เราก็รู้จักพระบิดาด้วย และชีวิตของเรา เราสละเพื่อฝูงแกะ

¹⁶ I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. Isaiah 56:8 I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.

¹⁶แกะอื่นซึ่งมิได้เป็นของคอกนี้เราก็มีอยู่ แกะเหล่านั้นเราก็ต้องพามาด้วย และแกะเหล่านั้นจะฟังเสียงของเรา แล้วจะรวมเป็นฝูงเดียว และมีผู้เลี้ยงเพียงผู้เดียว

¹⁷ Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, Isaiah 53:7-8 that I may take it again.

¹⁷ด้วยเหตุนี้พระบิดาจึงทรงรักเรา เพราะเราสละชีวิตของเรา เพื่อจะรับชีวิตนั้นคืนมาอีก

¹⁸ No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”

¹⁸ไม่มีผู้ใดชิงชีวิตไปจากเราได้ แต่เราสละชีวิตด้วยใจสมัครของเราเอง เรามีสิทธิที่จะสละชีวิตนั้น และมีสิทธิที่จะรับคืนอีก พระบัญชานี้เราได้รับมาจากพระบิดาของเรา"

¹⁹Therefore a division arose again among the Jews because of these words.

¹⁹พระดำรัสนี้จึงทำให้พวกยิวแตกแยกกันอีก

²⁰Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”

²⁰พวกเขาหลายคนพูดว่า "เขามีผีสิงและเป็นบ้า ท่านฟังเขาทำไม"

²¹Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?” Exodus 4:11

²³It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.

²⁴The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

²⁴แล้วพวกยิวก็พากันมาห้อมล้อมพระองค์ไว้และทูลพระองค์ว่า "จะทำให้เราสงสัยนานสักเท่าใด ถ้าท่านเป็นพระคริสต์ก็จงบอกเราให้ชัดแจ้งเถิด"

²⁵Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.

²⁵พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาทั้งหลายว่า "เราได้บอกท่านทั้งหลายแล้ว และท่านไม่เชื่อ การซึ่งเราได้กระทำในพระนามพระบิดาของเราก็เป็นพยานให้แก่เรา

²⁶ But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.

²⁶แต่ท่านทั้งหลายไม่เชื่อ เพราะท่านมิได้เป็นแกะของเรา ตามที่เราได้บอกท่านแล้ว

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

²⁷แกะของเราย่อมฟังเสียงของเรา และเรารู้จักแกะเหล่านั้น และแกะนั้นตามเรา

²⁸ I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

²⁸เราให้ชีวิตนิรันดร์แก่แกะนั้น และแกะนั้นจะไม่พินาศเลย และจะไม่มีผู้ใดแย่งชิงแกะเหล่านั้นไปจากมือของเราได้

²⁹ My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

²⁹พระบิดาของเราผู้ประทานแกะนั้นให้แก่เราเป็นใหญ่กว่าทุกสิ่ง และไม่มีผู้ใดสามารถชิงแกะนั้นไปจากพระหัตถ์ของพระบิดาของเราได้

³⁰ I and the Father are one.”

³⁰เรากับพระบิดาเป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกัน"

³¹Therefore Jews took up stones again to stone him.

³¹พวกยิวจึงหยิบก้อนหินขึ้นมาอีกจะขว้างพระองค์ให้ตาย

³²Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”

³²พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราได้สำแดงให้ท่านเห็นการดีหลายประการซึ่งมาจากพระบิดาของเรา ท่านทั้งหลายหยิบก้อนหินจะขว้างเราให้ตายเพราะการกระทำข้อใดเล่า"

³³The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”

³³พวกยิวทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "เราจะขว้างท่านมิใช่เพราะการกระทำดี แต่เพราะการพูดหมิ่นประมาท เพราะท่านเป็นเพียงมนุษย์แต่ตั้งตัวเป็นพระเจ้า"

³⁴Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’ Psalm 82:6

³⁴พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ในพระราชบัญญัติของท่านมีคำเขียนไว้มิใช่หรือว่า `เราได้กล่าวว่า ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นพระ'

³⁵ If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),

³⁵ถ้าพระองค์ได้ทรงเรียกผู้ที่รับพระวจนะของพระเจ้าว่าเป็นพระ และจะฝ่าฝืนพระคัมภีร์ไม่ได้

³⁶ do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’

³⁶ท่านทั้งหลายจะกล่าวหาท่านที่พระบิดาได้ทรงตั้งไว้ และทรงใช้เข้ามาในโลกว่า `ท่านกล่าวคำหมิ่นประมาท' เพราะเราได้กล่าวว่า `เราเป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า' อย่างนั้นหรือ

³⁷ If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.

³⁷ถ้าเราไม่ปฏิบัติพระราชกิจของพระบิดาของเรา ก็อย่าเชื่อในเราเลย

³⁸ But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works; that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

³⁸แต่ถ้าเราปฏิบัติพระราชกิจนั้น แม้ว่าท่านมิได้เชื่อในเรา ก็จงเชื่อเพราะพระราชกิจนั้นเถิด เพื่อท่านจะได้รู้และเชื่อว่าพระบิดาทรงอยู่ในเรา และเราอยู่ในพระบิดา"

³⁹They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.

³⁹พวกเขาจึงหาโอกาสจับพระองค์อีกครั้งหนึ่ง แต่พระองค์ทรงรอดพ้นจากมือเขาไปได้

⁴⁰He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and there he stayed.

⁴⁰พระองค์เสด็จไปฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดนข้างโน้นอีก และไปถึงสถานที่ที่ยอห์นให้บัพติศมาเป็นครั้งแรก และพระองค์ทรงพักอยู่ที่นั่น

⁴¹Many came to him. They said, “John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true.”

⁴¹คนเป็นอันมากพากันมาหาพระองค์ และกล่าวว่า "ยอห์นมิได้ทำการอัศจรรย์ใดๆเลย แต่ทุกสิ่งซึ่งยอห์นได้กล่าวถึงท่านผู้นี้เป็นความจริง"

⁴²Many believed in him there.

⁴²และมีคนหลายคนที่นั่นได้เชื่อในพระองค์
