¹He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of God come with power.”

¹พระองค์ยังตรัสแก่เขาว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ในพวกท่านที่ยืนอยู่ที่นี่ มีบางคนที่จะไม่รู้รสความตายจนกว่าจะได้เห็นอาณาจักรของพระเจ้ามาด้วยฤทธานุภาพ"

²After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.

²ครั้นล่วงไปได้หกวันแล้ว พระเยซูทรงพาเปโตร ยากอบ และยอห์นขึ้นภูเขาสูงแต่ลำพัง แล้วพระกายของพระองค์ก็เปลี่ยนไปต่อหน้าเขา

³His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.

³และฉลองพระองค์ก็ส่องประกายขาวดุจหิมะ จะหาช่างฟอกผ้าทั่วแผ่นดินโลกฟอกให้ขาวอย่างนั้นก็ไม่ได้

⁴Elijah and Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.

⁴แล้วเอลียาห์กับโมเสสก็ปรากฏแก่พวกสาวกเหล่านั้น และเฝ้าสนทนากับพระเยซู

⁵Peter answered Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

⁵ฝ่ายเปโตรทูลพระเยซูว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า ซึ่งเราอยู่ที่นี่ก็ดี ให้พวกข้าพระองค์ทำพลับพลาสามหลัง สำหรับพระองค์หลังหนึ่ง สำหรับโมเสสหลังหนึ่ง สำหรับเอลียาห์หลังหนึ่ง"

⁶For he didn’t know what to say, for they were very afraid.

⁶ที่เปโตรพูดอย่างนั้นก็เพราะไม่รู้จะว่าอย่างไร ด้วยเขาทั้งหลายกำลังกลัวนัก

⁷A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”

⁷แล้วมีเมฆมาปกคลุมเขาไว้ และมีพระสุรเสียงออกมาจากเมฆนั้นว่า "ท่านผู้นี้เป็นบุตรที่รักของเรา จงฟังท่านเถิด"

⁸Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only.

⁸ทันใดนั้น เมื่อสาวกแลดูรอบก็ไม่เห็นผู้ใด เห็นแต่พระเยซูทรงอยู่กับเขา

⁹As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

⁹เมื่อกำลังลงมาจากภูเขา พระองค์ตรัสห้ามเหล่าสาวกไม่ให้นำสิ่งที่ได้เห็นนั้นไปบอกแก่ผู้ใดเลย จนกว่าบุตรมนุษย์จะเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตาย

¹⁰They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.

¹⁰เหตุการณ์นั้นเหล่าสาวกก็เก็บงำไว้ แต่ซักถามกันว่า ที่ตรัสว่าจะเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายนั้น จะหมายความว่าอย่างไร

¹¹They asked him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

¹¹เขาจึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "เหตุไฉนพวกธรรมาจารย์จึงว่าเอลียาห์จะต้องมาก่อน"

¹²He said to them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?

¹²พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เอลียาห์ต้องมาก่อนจริง และทำให้สิ่งทั้งปวงคืนสู่สภาพเดิม อนึ่งมีคำเขียนไว้อย่างไรถึงบุตรมนุษย์ว่า พระองค์จะต้องทนทุกข์เวทนาหลายประการ และคนจะดูหมิ่นละทิ้งพระองค์เสีย

¹³ But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him.”

¹³แต่เราบอกแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า เอลียาห์นั้นได้มาแล้ว และซึ่งเขาใคร่จะทำแก่ท่านอย่างไร เขาก็ได้กระทำแล้ว ตามที่มีคำเขียนกล่าวไว้ถึงท่าน"

¹⁴Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them.

¹⁴เมื่อพระองค์ได้เสด็จมายังเหล่าสาวก ก็ทอดพระเนตรเห็นฝูงชนเป็นอันมากอยู่ล้อมรอบเขา และพวกธรรมาจารย์กำลังซักไซ้ไล่เลียงเขาอยู่

¹⁵Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him.

¹⁵ในทันใดนั้น เมื่อบรรดาประชาชนเห็นพระองค์ก็ประหลาดใจนัก จึงวิ่งเข้ามาเคารพพระองค์

¹⁶He asked the scribes, “What are you asking them?”

¹⁶พระองค์จึงตรัสถามพวกธรรมาจารย์ว่า "ท่านซักไซ้ไล่เลียงกับเขาด้วยข้อความอันใด"

¹⁷One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;

¹⁷มีคนหนึ่งในหมู่ประชาชนทูลตอบว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ข้าพระองค์ได้พาบุตรชายของข้าพระองค์มาหาพระองค์เพราะผีใบ้เข้าสิง

¹⁸and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”

¹⁸ผีพาเขาไปที่ไหนๆก็ทำให้ล้มชักดิ้นไป มีอาการน้ำลายฟูมปากและขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟันแล้วก็อ่อนระโหย ข้าพระองค์ได้ขอเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ให้ขับผีนั้นออกเสีย แต่เขาขับให้ออกไม่ได้"

¹⁹He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

¹⁹พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่คนนั้นว่า "โอ คนในยุคที่ขาดความเชื่อ เราจะต้องอยู่กับเจ้านานเท่าใด เราจะต้องอดทนกับเจ้านานเท่าใด จงพาเด็กนั้นมาหาเราเถิด"

²⁰They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

²⁰เขาก็พาเด็กนั้นมาหาพระองค์ และเมื่อเห็นพระองค์แล้ว ในทันใดนั้นผีนั้นจึงทำให้เขาชักล้มลงกลิ้งเกลือกที่ดิน มีน้ำลายฟูมปาก

²¹He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood.

²¹พระองค์จึงตรัสถามบิดานั้นว่า "เป็นอย่างนี้มานานสักเท่าไร" บิดาทูลตอบว่า "ตั้งแต่เป็นเด็กเล็กๆมา

²²Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”

²²และผีก็ทำให้เด็กตกในไฟและในน้ำบ่อยๆหมายจะฆ่าเสียให้ตาย แต่ถ้าพระองค์สามารถทำได้ ขอโปรดกรุณาและช่วยเราเถิด"

²³Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

²³พระเยซูจึงตรัสแก่บิดานั้นว่า "ถ้าท่านเชื่อได้ ใครเชื่อก็ทำให้ได้ทุกสิ่ง"

²⁴Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

²⁴ทันใดนั้น บิดาของเด็กก็ร้องทูลด้วยน้ำตาไหลว่า "ข้าพระองค์เชื่อ พระองค์เจ้าข้า ที่ข้าพระองค์ยังขาดความเชื่อนั้น ขอพระองค์ทรงโปรดช่วยให้เชื่อเถิด"

²⁵When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

²⁵เมื่อพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเห็นประชาชนกำลังวิ่งเข้ามา พระองค์ตรัสสำทับผีโสโครกนั้นว่า "อ้ายผีใบ้หูหนวก เราสั่งเจ้าให้ออกมาจากเขา อย่าได้กลับเข้าสิงเขาอีกเลย"

²⁶Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”

²⁶ผีนั้นจึงร้องอื้ออึงทำให้เด็กนั้นชักดิ้นเป็นอันมาก แล้วก็ออกมา เด็กนั้นก็แน่นิ่งเหมือนคนตาย จนมีหลายคนกล่าวว่า "เขาตายแล้ว"

²⁷But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.

²⁷แต่พระเยซูทรงจับมือพยุงเด็กนั้น เด็กนั้นก็ยืนขึ้น

²⁸When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

²⁸เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จเข้าในเรือนแล้ว เหล่าสาวกของพระองค์มาทูลถามพระองค์เป็นส่วนตัวว่า "เหตุไฉนพวกข้าพระองค์ขับผีนั้นออกไม่ได้"

²⁹He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”

²⁹พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ผีอย่างนี้จะขับให้ออกไม่ได้เลย เว้นแต่โดยการอธิษฐานและการอดอาหาร"

³⁰They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He didn’t want anyone to know it.

³⁰พระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกจึงออกไปจากที่นั่น ดำเนินไปในแคว้นกาลิลี แต่พระองค์ไม่ประสงค์จะให้ผู้ใดรู้

³¹For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”

³¹ด้วยว่าพระองค์ตรัสพร่ำสอนสาวกของพระองค์ว่า "บุตรมนุษย์จะต้องถูกมอบไว้ในมือของคน และเขาจะประหารท่านเสีย เมื่อประหารแล้ว ในวันที่สามท่านจะเป็นขึ้นมาใหม่"

³²But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³²แต่ถ้อยคำนี้เหล่าสาวกหาเข้าใจไม่ ครั้นจะทูลถามพระองค์ก็เกรงใจ

³³He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”

³³พระองค์จึงเสด็จมายังเมืองคาเปอรนาอุม และเมื่อเข้าไปในเรือนแล้ว พระองค์ตรัสถามเหล่าสาวกว่า "เมื่อมาตามทางนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายได้โต้แย้งกันด้วยข้อความอันใด"

³⁴But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest.

³⁴เหล่าสาวกก็นิ่งอยู่ เพราะเมื่อมาตามทางนั้นเขาได้เถียงกันว่า คนไหนจะเป็นใหญ่กว่ากัน

³⁵He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”

³⁵พระองค์ได้ประทับนั่ง แล้วทรงเรียกสาวกสิบสองคนนั้นมาตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ถ้าผู้ใดใคร่จะได้เป็นคนต้น ก็ให้ผู้นั้นเป็นคนท้ายสุด และเป็นผู้รับใช้ของคนทั้งปวง"

³⁶He took a little child, and set him in their midst. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,

³⁶พระองค์จึงทรงเอาเด็กเล็กๆคนหนึ่งมาให้ยืนท่ามกลางเหล่าสาวก แล้วทรงอุ้มเด็กนั้นไว้ ตรัสแก่เหล่าสาวกว่า

³⁷ “Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn’t receive me, but him who sent me.”

³⁷"ถ้าผู้ใดจะรับเด็กเล็กๆเช่นนี้คนหนึ่งในนามของเรา ผู้นั้นก็รับเรา และผู้ใดได้รับเรา ผู้นั้นก็มิใช่รับเรา แต่รับพระองค์ผู้ทรงใช้เรามา"

³⁸John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone who doesn’t follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow us.”

³⁸ยอห์นจึงทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า พวกข้าพระองค์ได้เห็นคนหนึ่งขับผีออกโดยพระนามของพระองค์ ซึ่งคนนั้นมิได้ตามพวกเรามา และพวกข้าพระองค์ได้ห้ามเขา เพราะเขามิได้ตามพวกเรามา"

³⁹But Jesus said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.

³⁹พระเยซูจึงตรัสว่า "อย่าห้ามเขาเลย เพราะว่าไม่มีผู้ใดจะกระทำการอัศจรรย์ในนามของเรา แล้วอีกประเดี๋ยวหนึ่งอาจกลับพูดประณามเรา

⁴⁰ For whoever is not against us is on our side.

⁴⁰เพราะผู้ใดไม่เป็นฝ่ายต่อสู้เรา ผู้นั้นก็เป็นฝ่ายเราแล้ว

⁴¹ For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.

⁴¹เพราะเราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่า ผู้ใดจะเอาน้ำถ้วยหนึ่งให้พวกท่านดื่มในนามของเรา เพราะท่านทั้งหลายเป็นฝ่ายพระคริสต์ ผู้นั้นจะขาดบำเหน็จก็หามิได้

⁴² Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck.

⁴²แต่ผู้ใดจะทำผู้เล็กน้อยเหล่านี้คนหนึ่งที่เชื่อในเราให้หลงผิด ถ้าเอาหินโม่ก้อนใหญ่ผูกคอผู้นั้นถ่วงเสียในทะเลก็ดีกว่า

⁴³ If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, or, Hell into the unquenchable fire,

⁴³และถ้ามือของท่านทำให้ท่านหลงผิด จงตัดมันทิ้งเสีย ซึ่งจะเข้าสู่ชีวิตด้วยมือด้วนยังดีกว่ามีสองมือและต้องตกนรกในไฟที่ไม่มีวันดับ

⁴⁴ ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

⁴⁴ในที่นั้นตัวหนอนก็ไม่ตาย และไฟก็ไม่ดับเลย

⁴⁵ If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna, or, Hell into the fire that will never be quenched—

⁴⁵ถ้าเท้าของท่านทำให้ท่านหลงผิด จงตัดมันทิ้งเสีย ซึ่งจะเข้าสู่ชีวิตด้วยเท้าด้วนยังดีกว่ามีเท้าสองเท้าและต้องถูกทิ้งลงในนรกในไฟที่ไม่มีวันดับ

⁴⁶ ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’

⁴⁶ในที่นั้นตัวหนอนก็ไม่ตาย และไฟก็ไม่ดับเลย

⁴⁷ If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna or, Hell of fire,

⁴⁷ถ้าตาของท่านทำให้ท่านหลงผิด จงควักออกทิ้งเสีย ซึ่งจะเข้าในอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าด้วยตาข้างเดียวยังดีกว่ามีสองตา และต้องถูกทิ้งในไฟนรก

⁴⁸ ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’ Isaiah 66:24

⁴⁸ในที่นั้นตัวหนอนก็ไม่ตาย และไฟก็ไม่ดับเลย

⁴⁹ For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.

⁴⁹ด้วยว่าคนทั้งปวงจะต้องถูกชำระด้วยไฟ และเครื่องบูชาทุกอย่างจะต้องถูกชำระด้วยเกลือ

⁵⁰ Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

⁵⁰เกลือเป็นของดี แต่ถ้าเกลือหมดรสเค็มแล้ว จะทำให้กลับเค็มอีกอย่างไรได้ ท่านทั้งหลายจงมีเกลือในตัว และจงอยู่สงบสุขซึ่งกันและกัน"
