¹The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

¹พวกฟาริสีกับพวกสะดูสีได้มาทดลองพระองค์โดยขอร้องให้พระองค์สำแดงหมายสำคัญจากฟ้าสวรรค์ให้เขาเห็น

²But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’

²พระองค์จึงตรัสตอบเขาว่า "พอตกเย็นท่านทั้งหลายพูดว่า `รุ่งขึ้นอากาศจะโปร่งดีเพราะฟ้าสีแดง'

³ In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!

³ในเวลาเช้าท่านพูดว่า `วันนี้จะเกิดพายุฝนเพราะฟ้าแดงและมัว' โอ คนหน้าซื่อใจคด ท้องฟ้านั้นท่านทั้งหลายยังอาจสังเกตรู้และเข้าใจได้ แต่หมายสำคัญแห่งกาละนี้ท่านกลับไม่เข้าใจ

⁴ An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them, and departed.

⁴คนชาติชั่วและเล่นชู้แสวงหาหมายสำคัญ และจะไม่โปรดให้หมายสำคัญแก่เขา เว้นไว้แต่หมายสำคัญของโยนาห์ศาสดาพยากรณ์เท่านั้น" แล้วพระองค์ก็เสด็จไปจากเขา

⁵The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.

⁵ฝ่ายพวกสาวกของพระองค์ เมื่อข้ามฟากนั้นได้ลืมเอาขนมปังไปด้วย

⁶Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

⁶พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "จงสังเกตและระวังเชื้อแห่งพวกฟาริสีและพวกสะดูสีให้ดี"

⁷They reasoned among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.”

⁷เหล่าสาวกจึงปรึกษากันว่า "เพราะเหตุที่เรามิได้เอาขนมปังมา"

⁸Jesus, perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, ‘because you have brought no bread?’

⁸ฝ่ายพระเยซูทรงทราบจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "โอ ผู้มีความเชื่อน้อย เหตุไฉนพวกท่านจึงปรึกษากันและกันถึงเรื่องไม่ได้เอาขนมปังมา

⁹ Don’t you yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

⁹ท่านยังไม่เข้าใจและจำไม่ได้หรือ เรื่องขนมปังห้าก้อนกับคนห้าพันคนนั้น ท่านเก็บที่เหลือได้กี่กระบุง

¹⁰ Nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

¹⁰หรือขนมปังเจ็ดก้อนกับคนสี่พันคนนั้น ท่านเก็บที่เหลือได้กี่กระบุง

¹¹ How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

¹¹เป็นไฉนพวกท่านถึงไม่เข้าใจว่า เรามิได้พูดกับท่านด้วยเรื่องขนมปัง แต่ได้ว่าให้ท่านระวังเชื้อแห่งพวกฟาริสีและพวกสะดูสีให้ดี"

¹²Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

¹²แล้วพวกสาวกก็เข้าใจว่า พระองค์มิได้ตรัสสั่งเขาให้ระวังเชื้อขนมปัง แต่ให้ระวังคำสอนของพวกฟาริสีและพวกสะดูสี

¹³Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

¹³ครั้นพระเยซูเสด็จเข้าไปในเขตเมืองซีซารียาฟีลิปปี พระองค์จึงตรัสถามพวกสาวกของพระองค์ว่า "คนทั้งหลายพูดกันว่าเราซึ่งคือบุตรมนุษย์เป็นผู้ใด"

¹⁴They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”

¹⁴เขาจึงทูลตอบว่า "บางคนว่าเป็นยอห์นผู้ให้รับบัพติศมา แต่บางคนว่าเป็นเอลียาห์ และคนอื่นว่าเป็นเยเรมีย์ หรือเป็นคนหนึ่งในพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์"

¹⁵He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

¹⁵พระองค์ตรัสถามเขาว่า "แล้วพวกท่านเล่า ว่าเราเป็นผู้ใด"

¹⁶Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

¹⁶ซีโมนเปโตรทูลตอบว่า "พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระคริสต์พระบุตรของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่"

¹⁷Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁷พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ซีโมนบุตรโยนาเอ๋ย ท่านก็เป็นสุข เพราะว่าเนื้อหนังและโลหิตมิได้แจ้งความนี้แก่ท่าน แต่พระบิดาของเราผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ทรงแจ้งให้ทราบ

¹⁸ I also tell you that you are Peter, Peter’s name, Petros in Greek, is the word for a specific rock or stone. and on this rock Greek, petra, a rock mass or bedrock. I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades or, Hell will not prevail against it.

¹⁸ฝ่ายเราบอกท่านด้วยว่า ท่านคือเปโตร และบนศิลานี้เราจะสร้างคริสตจักรของเราไว้ และประตูแห่งนรกจะมีชัยต่อคริสตจักรนั้นก็หามิได้

¹⁹ I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”

¹⁹เราจะมอบลูกกุญแจของอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ให้ไว้แก่ท่าน ท่านจะผูกมัดสิ่งใดในโลก สิ่งนั้นก็จะถูกมัดในสวรรค์ เมื่อท่านจะปล่อยสิ่งใดในโลก สิ่งนั้นจะถูกปล่อยในสวรรค์"

²⁰Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

²⁰แล้วพระองค์ทรงกำชับห้ามเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ มิให้บอกผู้ใดว่า พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเยซูพระคริสต์ผู้นั้น

²¹From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

²¹ตั้งแต่เวลานั้นมา พระเยซูทรงเริ่มเผยแก่เหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ว่า พระองค์จะต้องเสด็จไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และจะต้องทนทุกข์ทรมานหลายประการจากพวกผู้ใหญ่และพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่และพวกธรรมาจารย์ จนต้องถูกประหารเสีย แต่ในวันที่สามจะทรงถูกชุบให้เป็นขึ้นมาใหม่

²²Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”

²²ฝ่ายเปโตรเอามือจับพระองค์ เริ่มทูลท้วงพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ให้เหตุการณ์นั้นอยู่ห่างไกลจากพระองค์เถิด อย่าให้เป็นอย่างนั้นแก่พระองค์เลย"

²³But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”

²³พระองค์จึงหันพระพักตร์ตรัสกับเปโตรว่า "อ้ายซาตาน จงถอยไปข้างหลังเรา เจ้าเป็นเครื่องกีดขวางเรา เพราะเจ้ามิได้คิดตามพระดำริของพระเจ้า แต่ตามความคิดของมนุษย์"

²⁴Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

²⁴ขณะนั้นพระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ว่า "ถ้าผู้ใดใคร่ตามเรามา ให้ผู้นั้นเอาชนะตัวเอง และรับกางเขนของตนแบกและตามเรามา

²⁵ For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.

²⁵เพราะว่าผู้ใดใคร่จะเอาชีวิตของตนรอด ผู้นั้นจะเสียชีวิต แต่ผู้ใดจะเสียชีวิตของตนเพราะเห็นแก่เรา ผู้นั้นจะได้ชีวิตรอด

²⁶ For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

²⁶เพราะถ้าผู้ใดจะได้สิ่งของสิ้นทั้งโลก แต่ต้องสูญเสียจิตวิญญาณของตน ผู้นั้นจะได้ประโยชน์อะไร หรือผู้นั้นจะนำอะไรไปแลกเอาจิตวิญญาณของตนกลับคืนมา

²⁷ For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.

²⁷เหตุว่าบุตรมนุษย์จะเสด็จมาด้วยสง่าราศีแห่งพระบิดา และพร้อมด้วยทูตสวรรค์ของพระองค์ เมื่อนั้นพระองค์จะประทานบำเหน็จให้ทุกคนตามการกระทำของตน

²⁸ Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”

²⁸เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ในพวกท่านที่ยืนอยู่ที่นี่ มีบางคนที่ยังจะไม่รู้รสความตาย จนกว่าจะได้เห็นบุตรมนุษย์เสด็จมาในราชอาณาจักรของท่าน"
