¹When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

¹เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จลงมาจากภูเขาแล้ว คนเป็นอันมากได้ติดตามพระองค์ไป

²Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

²ดูเถิด มีคนโรคเรื้อนมานมัสการพระองค์แล้วทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า เพียงแต่พระองค์จะโปรด ก็จะทรงบันดาลให้ข้าพระองค์หายโรคได้"

³Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

³พระเยซูทรงยื่นพระหัตถ์ถูกต้องเขา แล้วตรัสว่า "เราพอใจแล้ว จงหายเถิด" ในทันใดนั้นโรคเรื้อนของเขาก็หาย

⁴Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

⁴ฝ่ายพระเยซูตรัสสั่งเขาว่า "อย่าบอกเล่าให้ผู้ใดฟังเลย แต่จงไปสำแดงตัวแก่ปุโรหิต และถวายเครื่องถวายตามซึ่งโมเสสได้สั่งไว้ เพื่อเป็นหลักฐานต่อคนทั้งหลาย"

⁵When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,

⁵เมื่อพระเยซูเสด็จเข้าไปในเมืองคาเปอรนาอุม มีนายร้อยคนหนึ่งมาอ้อนวอนพระองค์

⁶and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.”

⁶ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ผู้รับใช้ของข้าพระองค์เป็นอัมพาตอยู่ที่บ้าน ทนทุกข์เวทนามาก"

⁷Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

⁷พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราจะไปรักษาเขาให้หาย"

⁸The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁸นายร้อยผู้นั้นทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ข้าพระองค์ไม่สมควรที่จะรับเสด็จพระองค์เข้าใต้ชายคาของข้าพระองค์ ขอพระองค์ตรัสเท่านั้น ผู้รับใช้ของข้าพระองค์ก็จะหายโรค

⁹For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

⁹เพราะเหตุว่าข้าพระองค์เป็นคนอยู่ใต้วินัยทหาร แต่ก็ยังมีทหารอยู่ใต้บังคับบัญชาข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์จะบอกแก่คนนี้ว่า `ไป' เขาก็ไป บอกแก่คนนั้นว่า `มา' เขาก็มา บอกผู้รับใช้ของข้าพระองค์ว่า `จงทำสิ่งนี้' เขาก็ทำ"

¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

¹⁰ครั้นพระเยซูทรงได้ยินดังนั้นก็ประหลาดพระทัยนัก ตรัสกับบรรดาคนที่ตามพระองค์ว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า เราไม่เคยพบความเชื่อที่ไหนมากเท่านี้แม้ในอิสราเอล

¹¹ I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,

¹¹เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนเป็นอันมากจะมาจากทิศตะวันออกและทิศตะวันตก จะมาเอนกายลงกันกับอับราฮัมและอิสอัคและยาโคบในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์

¹² but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

¹²แต่บรรดาลูกของอาณาจักรจะต้องถูกขับไล่ไสส่งออกไปในที่มืด ที่นั่นจะมีเสียงร้องไห้ขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน"

¹³Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour.

¹³แล้วพระเยซูจึงตรัสกับนายร้อยว่า "ไปเถิด ท่านได้เชื่ออย่างไร ก็ให้เป็นแก่ท่านอย่างนั้น" ในทันใดนั้นเอง ผู้รับใช้ของเขาก็หายเป็นปกติ

¹⁴When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.

¹⁴ครั้นพระเยซูเสด็จเข้าไปในเรือนของเปโตร ก็ทอดพระเนตรเห็นแม่ยายของเปโตรนอนป่วยจับไข้อยู่

¹⁵He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him. TR reads “them” instead of “him”

¹⁵พอพระองค์ทรงถูกต้องมือนาง ความไข้ก็หาย นางจึงลุกขึ้นปรนนิบัติเขาทั้งหลาย

¹⁶When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;

¹⁶พอค่ำลง เขาพาคนเป็นอันมากที่มีผีเข้าสิงมาหาพระองค์ พระองค์ก็ทรงขับผีออกด้วยพระดำรัสของพระองค์ และบรรดาคนเจ็บป่วยนั้น พระองค์ก็ได้ทรงรักษาให้หาย

¹⁷that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.” Isaiah 53:4

¹⁷ทั้งนี้เพื่อจะให้สำเร็จตามพระวจนะโดยอิสยาห์ศาสดาพยากรณ์ที่ว่า `ท่านได้แบกความเจ็บไข้ของเราทั้งหลาย และหอบโรคของเราไป'

¹⁸Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.

¹⁸ครั้นพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเห็นประชาชนเป็นอันมากมาล้อมพระองค์ไว้ พระองค์จึงตรัสสั่งให้ข้ามฟากไป

¹⁹A scribe came, and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

¹⁹ขณะนั้นมีธรรมาจารย์คนหนึ่งมาหาพระองค์ทูลว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ท่านไปทางไหน ข้าพเจ้าจะตามท่านไปทางนั้น"

²⁰Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

²⁰พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "สุนัขจิ้งจอกยังมีโพรง และนกในอากาศก็ยังมีรัง แต่บุตรมนุษย์ไม่มีที่ที่จะวางศีรษะ"

²¹Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

²¹อีกคนหนึ่งในพวกสาวกของพระองค์มาทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอทรงโปรดให้ข้าพระองค์ไปฝังศพบิดาข้าพระองค์ก่อน"

²²But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

²²พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "จงตามเรามาเถิด ปล่อยให้คนตายฝังคนตายของเขาเองเถิด"

²³When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.

²³เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จลงเรือ พวกสาวกของพระองค์ก็ตามพระองค์ไป

²⁴Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

²⁴ดูเถิด เกิดพายุใหญ่ในทะเลสาบจนคลื่นซัดท่วมเรือ แต่พระองค์บรรทมหลับอยู่

²⁵They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”

²⁵และพวกสาวกของพระองค์ได้มาปลุกพระองค์ ทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอโปรดช่วยพวกเราเถิด พวกเรากำลังจะจมอยู่แล้ว"

²⁶He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

²⁶พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เหตุไฉนเจ้าจึงขลาดนัก เจ้ามีความเชื่อน้อยเสียจริงๆ" แล้วพระองค์ทรงลุกขึ้นห้ามลมและทะเล คลื่นลมก็สงบเงียบทั่วไป

²⁷The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

²⁷คนเหล่านั้นก็อัศจรรย์ใจพูดกันว่า "ท่านผู้นี้เป็นคนอย่างไรหนอ จนชั้นลมและทะเลก็เชื่อฟังท่าน"

²⁸When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, NU reads “Gadarenes” two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.

²⁸ครั้นพระองค์ทรงข้ามฟากไปถึงแดนกาดาราแล้ว มีคนสองคนออกมาจากอุโมงค์ฝังศพมาพบพระองค์ เขามีผีสิงดุร้ายนัก จนไม่มีผู้ใดอาจเดินทางนั้นได้

²⁹Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

²⁹ดูเถิด เขาร้องตะโกนว่า "พระเยซูผู้เป็นพระบุตรของพระเจ้า ท่านจะมายุ่งกับพวกเราทำไม ท่านจะมาทรมานพวกเราก่อนเวลาหรือ"

³⁰Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

³⁰ไกลจากที่นั่นมีสุกรฝูงใหญ่กำลังหากินอยู่

³¹The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”

³¹ผีเหล่านั้นได้อ้อนวอนพระองค์ว่า "ถ้าท่านขับพวกเราออก ก็ขอให้เข้าอยู่ในฝูงสุกรนั้นเถิด"

³²He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

³²พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่ผีเหล่านั้นว่า "ไปเถอะ" ผีเหล่านั้นก็ออกไปเข้าสิงอยู่ในฝูงสุกร ดูเถิด สุกรทั้งฝูงนั้นก็วิ่งกระโดดจากหน้าผาชันลงไปในทะเล และจมน้ำตายจนสิ้น

³³Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.

³³ฝ่ายคนเลี้ยงสุกรก็หนีเข้าไปในนคร เล่าบรรดาเหตุการณ์ซึ่งเป็นไปนั้น กับเหตุที่เกิดขึ้นแก่คนที่มีผีเข้าสิงอยู่นั้น

³⁴Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.

³⁴ดูเถิด คนทั้งนครพากันออกมาพบพระเยซู เมื่อพบพระองค์แล้ว เขาจึงอ้อนวอนขอให้พระองค์ไปเสียจากเขตแดนของเขา
