¹They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

¹Ðức Chúa Jêsus cùng môn đồ qua đến bờ biển bên kia, trong miền Giê-ra-sê.

²When he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs.

²Ngài mới ở trên thuyền bước xuống, tức thì có một người bị tà ma ám từ nơi mồ mả đi ra đến trước mặt Ngài.

³He lived in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,

³Người thường ở nơi mồ mả, dẫu dùng xiềng sắt cũng chẳng ai cột trói được nữa;

⁴because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. Nobody had the strength to tame him.

⁴vì nhiều lần người bị cùm chơn hoặc bị xiềng, rồi bẻ xiềng tháo cùm, không ai có sức trị được.

⁵Always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.

⁵Người cứ ở nơi mồ mả và trên núi, ngày đêm kêu la và lấy đá đánh bầm mình.

⁶When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,

⁶Người thấy Ðức Chúa Jêsus ở đằng xa, chạy lại sấp mình xuống trước mặt Ngài,

⁷and crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don’t torment me.”

⁷mà kêu lớn rằng: Hỡi Ðức Chúa Jêsus, Con Ðức Chúa Trời rất cao, tôi với Ngài có sự gì chăng? Tôi nhơn danh Ðức Chúa Trời mà khẩn cầu Ngài, xin đừng làm khổ tôi.

⁸For he said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”

⁸Vì Ðức Chúa Jêsus vừa phán cùng nó rằng: Hỡi tà ma, phải ra khỏi người nầy.

⁹He asked him, “What is your name?” He said to him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

⁹Ngài lại hỏi rằng: Mầy tên gì? Thưa rằng: Tên tôi là Quân đội; vì chúng tôi đông.

¹⁰He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

¹⁰Nó lại van xin Ngài đừng đuổi chúng nó ra khỏi miền đó.

¹¹Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.

¹¹Vả, chỗ đó, tại trên núi, có một bầy heo đông đương ăn.

¹²All the demons begged him, saying, “Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them.”

¹²Các quỉ cầu xin Ngài rằng: Xin khiến chúng tôi đến với bầy heo ấy, để chúng tôi nhập vào chúng nó. Ðức Chúa Jêsus cho phép.

¹³At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.

¹³Các tà ma ra khỏi người đó, bèn nhập vào bầy heo từ trên bực cao vụt đâm đầu xuống biển. Có độ hai ngàn con heo chết chìm cả dưới biển.

¹⁴Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.

¹⁴Nhưng kẻ chăn heo trốn, đồn tin nầy ra khắp trong thành và trong nhà quê;

¹⁵They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.

¹⁵dân sự đổ ra đặng xem điều đã xảy đến. Vậy, chúng đến cùng Ðức Chúa Jêsus, thấy người đã bị nhiều quỉ ám, đang ngồi, mặc quần áo, trí khôn bình tĩnh, thì sợ hãi lắm.

¹⁶Those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.

¹⁶Những người đã thấy việc đó, thuật cho họ nghe chuyện đã xảy đến cho kẻ bị quỉ ám và bầy heo.

¹⁷They began to beg him to depart from their region.

¹⁷Chúng bèn xin Ngài ra khỏi địa phận mình.

¹⁸As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.

¹⁸Lúc Ngài đương bước vào thuyền, người trước đã bị quỉ ám xin ở lại với Ngài.

¹⁹He didn’t allow him, but said to him, “Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you.”

¹⁹Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus không cho, phán rằng: Hãy về nhà ngươi, nơi bạn hữu ngươi, mà thuật lại cho họ điều lớn lao thể nào Chúa đã làm cho ngươi, và Ngài đã thương xót ngươi cách nào.

²⁰He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.

²⁰Vậy, người đi, đồn ra trong xứ Ðê-ca-bô-lơ những điều lớn lao thể nào mà Ðức Chúa Jêsus đã làm cho mình; ai nấy đều lấy làm lạ.

²¹When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.

²¹Khi Ðức Chúa Jêsus lại xuống thuyền qua bờ bên kia, có đoàn dân đông nhóm họp chung quanh Ngài. Ngài đứng trên bờ biển.

²²Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,

²²Bấy giờ, có một người trong những người cai nhà hội, tên là Giai ru, đến, thấy Ðức Chúa Jêsus, bèn gieo mình nơi chơn Ngài;

²³and begged him much, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live.”

²³nài xin mà rằng: Con gái nhỏ tôi gần chết; xin Chúa đến, đặt tay trên nó, đặng nó lành mạnh và sống.

²⁴He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.

²⁴Ðức Chúa Jêsus đi với người; đoàn dân đông cùng đi theo và lấn ép Ngài.

²⁵A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,

²⁵vả, tại đó có một người đờn bà bị bịnh mất huyết đã mười hai năm,

²⁶and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,

²⁶bấy lâu chịu khổ sở trong tay nhiều thầy thuốc, hao tốn hết tiền của, mà không thấy đỡ gì; bịnh lại càng nặng thêm.

²⁷having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.

²⁷Người đã nghe tin về Ðức Chúa Jêsus, bèn lẩn vào đằng sau giữa đám đông, mà rờ áo Ngài.

²⁸For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well.”

²⁸Vì người nói rằng: Nếu ta chỉ rờ đến áo Ngài mà thôi, thì ta sẽ được lành.

²⁹Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

²⁹Cùng một lúc ấy, huyết lậu liền cầm lại; người nghe trong mình đã được lành bịnh.

³⁰Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

³⁰Tức thì Ðức Chúa Jêsus tự biết có sức mạnh đã ra từ mình, bèn xây lại giữa đám đông mà hỏi rằng: Ai đã rờ áo ta?

³¹His disciples said to him, “You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

³¹Môn đồ thưa rằng: Thầy thấy đám đông lấn ép thầy, thº§y còn hỏi rằng: Ai rṀ đến ta?

³²He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

³²Ngài nhìn chung quanh mình để xem người đã làm điều đó.

³³But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

³³Người đờn bà biết sự đã xảy đến cho mình, bèn run sợ đến gieo mình dưới chơn Ngài, tỏ hết tình thật.

³⁴He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease.”

³⁴Ðức Chúa Jêsus phán rằng: Hỡi con gái ta, đức tin con đã cứu con; hãy đi cho bình an và được lành bịnh.

³⁵While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?”

³⁵Ðương khi Ngài còn phán, có kẻ đến từ nhà người cai nhà hội mà nói với người rằng: Con gái ông đã chết rồi; còn phiền Thầy làm chi?

³⁶But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

³⁶Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jêsus chẳng màng đến lời ấy, phán cùng cai nhà hội rằng: Ðừng sợ, chỉ tin mà thôi.

³⁷He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

³⁷Ngài chẳng cho ai theo mình, trừ ra Phi -e-rơ, Gia-cơ, và Giăng là em là Gia-cơ.

³⁸He came to the synagogue ruler’s house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.

³⁸Khi đã đến nhà người cai nhà hội, Ngài thấy chúng làm om sòm, kẻ khóc người kêu lớn tiếng.

³⁹When he had entered in, he said to them, “Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.”

³⁹Vào nhà rồi, Ngài phán cùng chúng rằng: Sao các ngươi làm ồn ào và khóc lóc vậy? Ðứa trẻ chẳng phải chết, song nó ngủ.

⁴⁰They ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying.

⁴⁰Chúng nhạo báng Ngài. Ngài bèn đuổi chúng ra hết, đem cha mẹ đứa trẻ với những kẻ theo Ngài, cùng vào chỗ nó nằm.

⁴¹Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha cumi!” which means, being interpreted, “Girl, I tell you, get up!”

⁴¹Ngài nắm tay nó mà phán rằng: Ta-li-tha Cu-mi; nghĩa là: Hỡi con gái nhỏ, ta truyền cho mầy, hãy chờ dậy.

⁴²Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.

⁴²Tức thì đứa gái chờ dậy mà bước đi, vì đã lên mười hai tuổi. Chúng rất lấy làm lạ.

⁴³He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.

⁴³Ngài cấm ngặt chúng đừng cho ai biết sự ấy, và truyền cho đứa trẻ ăn.
