Wolof: New Testament

Romans

12

1Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
2Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
2 Bu leen àddina jey, waaye yeesluleen ci seen xel, ba soppiku, ngeen man a xam bu wér coobareg Yàlla, di lépp lu baax, neex ko te mat sëkk.
3For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.
3 Gannaaw Yàlla may na ma ciw yiwam, ma nekk ndawam, maa ngi leen di wax lii, kenn ku nekk ci yéen: buleen yég seen bopp, waaye ngeen am xalaat yu yem, mengook ngëm gi leen Yàlla sédd, ku nekk ak wàllam.
4For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function,
4 Loolu, ci maanaa, mi ngi mel ni yaramu nit: yaram, lu cér yi baree-bare, benn niroowul ak moroomam liggéey.
5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
5 Noonu itam nun ñi bokk ci Kirist, lu nu baree-bare, benn lanu te danoo mànkoo.
6Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
6 Kon gannaaw Yàlla séddale na ay mayam, ku nekk ak sa cér, nanu koy jëfandikoo. Ku Yàlla may, ngay waare kàddoom, nga wax ko kem sa ngëm;
7or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;
7 kuy topptoo yëfi mbooloo mi, nga takku ci; ku Yàlla may, ngay jàngale, nekk ci;
8or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
8 kuy feddali ngëmu nit ñi ci Yàlla, nga sax ci; kuy séddoo alalam ak nit ñi, nga def ko ak xol bu laab; kuy jiite mbooloo mi, nga sawar ci; kuy dimbali ñi néew doole, nanga ci bég.
9Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
9 Na seen cofeel di lu dëggu te bañ a nekk ngistal; araamal-leen lu bon te sax ci lu baax.
10In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;
10 Bëgganteleen ak xol bu leer, niy doomi ndey, te farlu ci teralante.
11not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
11 Sawarleen te bañ a tayel, di jaamu Boroom bi ak seen xol bépp.
12rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;
12 Bégleen ci yaakaaru ëllëg te muñ bépp tiis, di sax ci ñaan Yàlla.
13contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.
13 Dimbalileen gaayi Yàlla yi ci seeni soxla, te saxoo dalal gan.
14Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.
14 Ku leen fitnaal, ñaanal-leen ko yiw, te bañ koo móolu.
15Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
15 Bégandooleen ak ñi bég, te jooyandoo ak ñiy jooy.
16Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.
16 Bokkleen menn xel, tey bañ a yékkatiku, di yóotu daraja, waaye ngeen fonk ñi suufe; buleen teg seen bopp boroomi xel.
17Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.
17 Buleen feyante lu bon, waaye sàkkuleen seede su rafet ci kanam ñépp.
18If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
18 Wutleen a juboo ak ñépp, ba fa seen kàttan yem.
19Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
19 Samay soppe, buleen di feyantoo, waaye bàyyileen lépp ci loxoy Yàlla, mi yelloo àtte; ndax Yàlla nee na ci Mbind mi: «Man maay àtte, maay fey jëf.»
20Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
20 Waaye defleen lii:«Bu sa noon xiifee, may ko mu lekk;bu maree, may ko mu naan.Ndax boo ko defee, dinga ko rusloo.»
21Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
21 Bu leen lu bon ëpp doole, waaye nootleen ko ci def lu baax.
