Wolof: New Testament

Young`s Literal Translation

1 Thessalonians

2

1 Waaw bokk yi, xam ngeen ne, ngan gi nu leen ganesi woon du nganug neen.
1For yourselves have known, brethren, our entrance in unto you, that it did not become vain,
2 Laata nuy ñëw, jaar nanu ci fitna ak toroxte ca dëkku Filib, ni ngeen ko xame; waaye Yàlla sunu Boroom may na nu fit, ba li tongoonte bi metti lépp it, yégal nanu leen xebaaru Yàlla bu baax bi.
2but having both suffered before, and having been injuriously treated (as ye have known) in Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the good news of God in much conflict,
3 Ndaxte sunu waaraate wéeruwul cig réer walla ci njublaŋ walla ciy nax.
3for our exhortation [is] not out of deceit, nor out of uncleanness, nor in guile,
4 Waaye gannaaw Yàlla moo nu seet, ba wóolu nu te dénk nu xebaar bu baax bi, kon noonu lanuy waaree, du ngir neex nit ñi, waaye ngir neex Yàlla, miy seet xol yi.
4but as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the good news, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who is proving our hearts,
5 Musunoo jey kenn, yéen xam ngeen ko; sunu waare musul a ëmb bëgge, Yàlla seede na ko;
5for at no time did we come with speech of flattery, (as ye have known,) nor in a pretext for covetousness, (God [is] witness!)
6 musunoo sàkku ngërëmu nit, muy ci yéen, muy ci ñeneen.
6nor seeking of men glory, neither from you nor from others, being able to be burdensome, as Christ`s apostles.
7 Manoon nanoo diis ci seen kaw sax, nun ñiy ndawi Kirist, waaye woyofoon nanu ci seen biir, te lewet ni jaboot buy uuf doomam.
7But we became gentle in your midst, as a nurse may cherish her own children,
8 Cofeel gi nu am ci yéen tax na, bëggunu woon a yem ci xamal leen xebaaru Yàlla bu baax bi, waaye jox leen it sunu bakkan, ndaxte sunu xol seeyoon na ci yéen.
8so being desirous of you, we are well-pleased to impart to you not only the good news of God, but also our own souls, because beloved ye have become to us,
9 Bokk yi, yéena ngi fàttaliku sunu coono ak sunu ñaq; xam ngeen ni nu liggéeye guddi ak bëccëg, ngir bañ a diis ci seen kaw, ci di leen yégal xebaaru Yàlla.
9for ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail, for, night and day working not to be a burden upon any of you, we did preach to you the good news of God;
10 Naka sunu diggante ak yéen ñi gëm, doxal nanu ko doxalin wu sell te jub te amul sikk: seede ngeen ko, te Yàlla it seede na ko.
10ye [are] witnesses — God also — how kindly and righteously, and blamelessly to you who believe we became,
11 Xam ngeen ne, dénk nanu leen kenn-kenn, ni baay di def ak doomam, dëfëlal leen seen xol te dëggal ci yéen, ngeen dund dund gu neex Yàlla, moom mi leen di woo, ngeen séddu ci nguuram ak ndamam.
11even as ye have known, how each one of you, as a father his own children, we are exhorting you, and comforting, and testifying,
13 Te it dunu noppee sant Yàlla ci lii: ba ngeen jotee kàddug Yàlla, gi nu doon waare, nangu ngeen ko, waxuma ni kàddug nit waaye ni kàddug Yàlla, ndaxte moom la ci dëgg-dëgg, te mu ngi jëf ci yéen ñi gëm.
12for your walking worthily of God, who is calling you to His own reign and glory.
14 Ndaxte bokk yi, aw ngeen ci tànki mboolooy Yàlla, yi nekk ca réewu Yawut ya tey daje ci turu Kirist Yeesu; fitna ya ñu daj ca Yawut ya, yéen it seen waa réew teg nañu leen ko.
13Because of this also, we — we do give thanks to God continually, that, having received the word of hearing from us of God, ye accepted, not the word of man, but as it is truly, the word of God, who also doth work in you who believe;
15 Ñoom Yawut yi rey nañu Boroom bi Yeesu, ni ñu reye woon yonent yi; teg nañu nu fitna yu metti; neexuñu Yàlla, ànduñu ak kenn,
14for ye became imitators, brethren, of the assemblies of God that are in Judea in Christ Jesus, because such things ye suffered, even ye, from your own countrymen, as also they from the Jews,
16 di nu teree wax ak ñi dul Yawut, ngir bañ ñu mucc. Duñu noppee xuus ci biir bàkkaar, waaye merum Yàlla xëppu na ci seen kaw.
15who did both put to death the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and did persecute us, and God they are not pleasing, and to all men [are] contrary,
17 Nun nag bokk yi, ba ñu ma leen xañee ab diir --xol yi taxul may wax, waaye jëmm yi rekk — jéem nanu leen a gis ak sunu kem-kàttan, ndax namm nanu leen, ba sunu xol seey ci gis leen.
16forbidding us to speak to the nations that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always, but the anger did come upon them — to the end!
18 Kon jàppoon nanu leen a seetsi — man Pool sax ay yooni yoon, waaye Seytaane téq na ma.
17And we, brethren, having been taken from you for the space of an hour — in presence, not in heart — did hasten the more abundantly to see your face in much desire,
19 Ndaxte bés bu Yeesu sunu Boroom dellusee, te nu fekke ko, kan mooy sunu yaakaar? Kan mooy sunu mbég? Kan mooy sunu kaala, gi nuy tiitaroo?
18wherefore we wished to come unto you, (I indeed Paul,) both once and again, and the Adversary did hinder us;
20 Xanaa du yéen? Waaw yéenay sunu ndam, yéenay sunu mbég.
19for what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? are not even ye before our Lord Jesus Christ in his presence?
20for ye are our glory and joy.
