Acts

4

1 Bi ñuy wax ak mbooloo ma, saraxalekat ya ak kilifag ñiy wottu kër Yàlla ga ak Sadusen ya daanu ci seen kaw.
1And as they are speaking unto the people, there came to them the priests, and the magistrate of the temple, and the Sadducees —
2 Ñu mer lool ci li ñuy waar nit ñi, di yégle ndekkitel ñi dee, sukkandikoo ko ci ndekkitel Yeesu.
2being grieved because of their teaching the people, and preaching in Jesus the rising again out of the dead —
3 Noonu ñu jàpp leen, tëj leen ba ca ëllëg sa, ndaxte mu nga doon tàmbalee guddi.
3and they laid hands upon them, and did put them in custody unto the morrow, for it was evening already;
4 Waaye ñu bare ca ña dégg wax ja gëm nañu, te limu góor ñi gëm yokku na, ba mat juróomi junni.
4and many of those hearing the word did believe, and the number of the men became, as it were, five thousand.
5 Ca ëllëg sa nag kilifay Yawut yi ak njiit yi ak xutbakat yi dajaloo ci Yerusalem.
5And it came to pass upon the morrow, there were gathered together of them the rulers, and elders, and scribes, to Jerusalem,
6 Ràññe nañu ci: Anas, miy saraxalekat bu mag bi, Kayif, Yowaana, Alegsàndar ak bokki saraxalekat bu mag bi.
6and Annas the chief priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the chief priest,
7 Ñu dëj Piyeer ak Yowaana ca digg ba, laaj leen ne: «Lii ngeen def, ci gan kàttan, mbaa ci turu kan, ngeen ko defe?»
7and having set them in the midst, they were inquiring, `In what power, or in what name did ye do this?`
8 Ci kaw loolu Piyeer daldi fees ak Xel mu Sell mi, ne leen: «Yéen kilifay xeet wi ak njiit yi,
8Then Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them: `Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 bu fekkee ne xettali nit ku wopp, ba mu wér, moo tax ngeen dëj nu ci pénc mi tey,
9if we to-day are examined concerning the good deed to the ailing man, by whom he hath been saved,
10 nangeen xam lii, yéen ñépp ak bànni Israyil gépp! Ci turu Yeesu Kirist mu Nasaret, mi ngeen daajoon ca bant te Yàlla dekkal ko, ci tur woowu la nit kii jële ag wér, ba taxaw ci seen kanam.
10be it known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye did crucify, whom God did raise out of the dead, in him hath this one stood by before you whole.
11 Yeesu moomu mooy:“Doj wi ngeen xeeboon, yéen tabaxkat yi,te moo doon doju koñ.”
11`This is the stone that was set at nought by you — the builders, that became head of a corner;
12 Te mucc amul ci keneen, ndaxte ci ron asamaan amul weneen tur wu ñu maye ci nit ñi, wu nu war a mucce.»
12and there is not salvation in any other, for there is no other name under the heaven that hath been given among men, in which it behoveth us to be saved.`
13 Kon bi ñu gisee fit, wi Piyeer ak Yowaana àndal, te ñu xam ne, musuñoo jàng mbaa ñuy gëstu ci diine, ñu daldi waaru, ràññee ne, daa nañu ànd ak Yeesu.
13And beholding the openness of Peter and John, and having perceived that they are men unlettered and plebeian, they were wondering — they were taking knowledge also of them that with Jesus they had been —
14 Te bi ñu gisee nit, ka ñu fajoon, taxaw ak ñoom, mënuñu caa teg dara.
14and seeing the man standing with them who hath been healed, they had nothing to say against [it],
15 Noonu ñu santaane, ñu génne leen, ñu daldi gise ci seen biir,
15and having commanded them to go away out of the sanhedrim, they took counsel with one another,
16 ne: «Lu nuy def ak ñii? Ndaxte def nañu kéemaan gu siiw; loolu leer na ñi dëkk Yerusalem ñépp, te mënunu koo weddi.
16saying, `What shall we do to these men? because that, indeed, a notable sign hath been done through them, to all those dwelling in Jerusalem [is] manifest, and we are not able to deny [it];
17 Waaye ngir mbir mi bañ a law ci xeet wi, nanu leen aaye, ñu bañ a waxati ak kenn ci tur woowu.»
17but that it may spread no further toward the people, let us strictly threaten them no more to speak in this name to any man.`
18 Noonu ñu woo leen, ñu tere leen bu wóor, ñu waxati mbaa waare dara ci turu Yeesu.
18And having called them, they charged them not to speak at all, nor to teach, in the name of Jesus,
19 Waaye Piyeer ak Yowaana tontu leen ne: «Bu fekkee ne déggal leen te bàyyi Yàlla moo jub ci kanam Yàlla, seetleen ko.
19and Peter and John answering unto them said, `Whether it is righteous before God to hearken to you rather than to God, judge ye;
20 Waaye nun mënunoo bañ a wax li nu gis te dégg ko.»
20for we cannot but speak what we did see and hear.`
21 Noonu kilifa yi tëkkuwaat leen, yiwi leen, ñu dem. Ndaxte amuñu benn bunt ci ñoom ngir mbugal leen, fekk ñépp di màggal Yàlla ci li xewoon.
21And they having further threatened [them], let them go, finding nothing how they may punish them, because of the people, because all were glorifying God for that which hath been done,
22 Ndaxte nit, ka ñu fajoon ci kéemaan googu, weesoon na ñeent-fukki at.
22for above forty years of age was the man upon whom had been done this sign of the healing.
23 Bi ñu leen yiwee nag, ñu dem ci seeni bokk, nettali leen li saraxalekat yu mag ya ak njiit ya waxoon lépp.
23And being let go, they went unto their own friends, and declared whatever the chief priests and the elders said unto them,
24 Bi ko bokk ya déggee nag, ñu mànkoo, diis seen kàddu Yàlla ne: «Boroom bi, yaa sàkk asamaan, suuf, géej ak lépp li nekk ci seen biir.
24and they having heard, with one accord did lift up the voice unto God, and said, `Lord, thou [art] God, who didst make the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all that [are] in them,
25 Yaa wax, jaar ci sunu maam Daawuda sa jaam, mi doon gémmiñu Xel mu Sell mi, ne:“Lu tax xeeti àddina di bax?Lu tax ñuy fexe lu mënul a am?
25who, through the mouth of David thy servant, did say, Why did nations rage, and peoples meditate vain things?
26 Buuri àddina dañoo booloo,te kilifa yi dajaloo,di bañ Boroom bi ak Almaseem.”
26the kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ;
27 Ndaxte ci dëgg ci dëkk bii, Erodd ak Poñsë Pilaat ànd ak xeeti àddina ak bànni Israyil, likkoo nañu, ngir daaneel sa Ndaw lu sell li nga fal, di Yeesu,
27for gathered together of a truth against Thy holy child Jesus, whom Thou didst anoint, were both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with nations and peoples of Israel,
28 te def lépp, li sa kàttan ak sa ndigal tëraloon.
28to do whatever Thy hand and Thy counsel did determine before to come to pass.
29 Léegi nag Boroom bi, seetal seeni tëkku te may say jaam, nuy wax sa kàddu ak fit.
29`And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and grant to Thy servants with all freedom to speak Thy word,
30 Tàllalal sa loxo, ci wéral ak ci wone ay kéemaan ak ay firnde, jaarale ko ci turu Yeesu, sa Ndaw lu sell li.»
30in the stretching forth of Thy hand, for healing, and signs, and wonders, to come to pass through the name of Thy holy child Jesus.`
31 Bi ñu ñaanee ba noppi, bérab ba ñu booloo woon daldi yengatu; te ñoom ñépp fees ak Xel mu Sell mi, ñuy wax kàddug Yàlla ak fit wu dëgër.
31And they having prayed, the place was shaken in which they were gathered together, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and were speaking the word of God with freedom,
32 Noonu mbooloom ñu gëm ñi bokk menn xel ak benn xalaat. Kenn daawul aakimoo dara ci alalam, waaye ñoo bokkoon lépp.
32and of the multitude of those who did believe the heart and the soul was one, and not one was saying that anything of the things he had was his own, but all things were to them in common.
33 Te ndaw yi di seedeel ndekkitel Yeesu Boroom bi ak kàttan gu réy. Te yiw wu yaatu ëmb leen, ñoom ñépp.
33And with great power were the apostles giving the testimony to the rising again of the Lord Jesus, great grace also was on them all,
34 Kenn ci ñoom ñàkkul dara, ndaxte képp ku nekk boroom suuf mbaa am ay kër, jaay na ko, indi njëg gi,
34for there was not any one among them who did lack, for as many as were possessors of fields, or houses, selling [them], were bringing the prices of the thing sold,
35 teg ko ci loxoy ndaw ya; ñu di ci sédd, kenn ku nekk li mu soxla.
35and were laying them at the feet of the apostles, and distribution was being made to each according as any one had need.
36 Noonu amoon na fa ku tudd Yuusufa, te ndaw yi dàkkentale ko Barnabas, miy tekki «Kiy dëgëral fit yi,» mu soqikoo ci giiru Lewi, te juddoo dunu Sipar.
36And Joses, who was surnamed by the apostles Barnabas — which is, having been interpreted, Son of Comfort — a Levite, of Cyprus by birth,
37 Moom nag jaay na tool, ba mu moom, indi xaalis ba, teg ko ci loxoy ndaw ya.
37a field being his, having sold [it], brought the money and laid [it] at the feet of the apostles.
