1 Kon nag yaw sama doomu diine, doolewool yiw, wi ci Kirist Yeesu.
1Thou therefore, my child, be strong in the grace which [is] in Christ Jesus.
2 Te wax yi nga dégge ci man fi kanam seede yu bare, nanga leen jottali nit ñu takku, ngir ñoom it ñu man a jàngal ñeneen.
2And the things thou hast heard of me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, such as shall be competent to instruct others also.
3 Bokkal ak man tiis, di jàmbaar ci toolu xareb Kirist Yeesu,
3Take thy share in suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 xam ne xarekat bu bëgg a neex ka ko solal, du dugg ci yëfi àddina.
4No one going as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of life, that he may please him who has enlisted him as a soldier.
5 Te it ku tàggat yaramam ngir rawante, duñu ko jagleel kaalag ndam mukk, su toppul sàrt ya.
5And if also any one contend [in the games], he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.
6 Noonu it beykat bi sonn mooy jëkk a ñam toolam.
6The husbandman must labour before partaking of the fruits.
7 Xalaatal bu baax sama wax jii, ndax Boroom bi dina leeral sa xel ci lépp.
7Think of what I say, for the Lord will give thee understanding in all things.
8 Fàttalikul Yeesu Kirist mi dekki, soqikoo ci Daawuda, tukkee ci xebaar bu baax bi may waare.
8Remember Jesus Christ raised from among [the] dead, of [the] seed of David, according to my glad tidings,
9 Xebaar booboo tax may jànkoonte ak i tiis, ba ñu jéng ma ni defkatu lu bon; waaye kàddug Yàlla moom, kenn du ko jéng.
9in which I suffer even unto bonds as an evil-doer: but the word of God is not bound.
10 Te lii tax may muñ lépp, ngir ñi Yàlla tànn it am mucc gi ci Kirist Yeesu, gu ànd ak ndam lu sax.
10For this cause I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that *they* also may obtain the salvation which [is] in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 Kàddu gu wóor a ngii:Su nu deeyaalee ak Kirist,dinanu dundaat ak moom;
11The word [is] faithful; for if we have died together with [him], we shall also live together;
12 su nu takkoo,dinanu nguuru ak moom.
12if we endure, we shall also reign together; if we deny, *he* also will deny us;
13 Su nu ko weddee,kon mu weddi nu;su nu ko ñàkkee kóllëre,moom dina sax ci kóllëreem,ndax mënul a weddi boppam.
13if we are unfaithful, *he* abides faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
14 Saxal ci di leen fàttali mbir yooyu, di leen dénk fa kanam Yàlla, ñu moytoo werante ciy araf, ndax loolu jëmul fu dul ci yàq ngëmu ñiy déglu.
14Of these things put in remembrance, testifying earnestly before the Lord not to have disputes of words, profitable for nothing, to the subversion of the hearers.
15 Góor-góorlul ba teew fa kanam Yàlla, nekk liggéeykat bu mu nangul te rusoo ci dara, di faramfàcce bu jub kàddug dëgg gi.
15Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.
16 Moytul bépp jataayu waxi neen yu àddina kese, ndax ña fa toog dinañu gën a xuus cig weddi,
16But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety,
17 te seen kàddu day burux ni ngal. Imene ak Filet, ci ñoom lañu bokk;
17and their word will spread as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 dañoo moy dëgg, di wax ne ndekkite wees na, ba yàq ngëmu ñenn ñi.
18[men] who as to the truth have gone astray, saying that the resurrection has taken place already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, [The] Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of [the] Lord withdraw from iniquity.
20 Ci kër gu mag nag, du ndabi wurus walla xaalis rekk a fa am, waaye itam yoy dénk walla ban; yii tedd nañu, yee ñàkk solo.
20But in a great house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden and earthen; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 Kon nag ku laabal sa bopp ci yooyu yépp, dinga nekk ndab lu tedd te sell, nga am njariñ ci Boroom bi te jekk ci bépp jëf ju rafet.
21If therefore one shall have purified himself from these, [in separating himself from them], he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified, serviceable to the Master, prepared for every good work.
22 Dawal bépp bëgg-bëggu ngune, te sóobu ci njub, ngëm, mbëggeel, jàmm, ànd ak ñépp ñiy tudd turu Boroom bi ak xol bu sell.
22But youthful lusts flee, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 Tanqamlul bépp weranteb neen bu amul njariñ, xam ne xuloo rekk lay jur.
23But foolish and senseless questionings avoid, knowing that they beget contentions.
24 Te jaamu Boroom bi warul a xuloo, waaye na lewet ci ñépp, jekk ngir jàngale tey muñ fitnay noon.
24And a bondman of [the] Lord ought not to contend, but be gentle towards all; apt to teach; forbearing;
25 Na jubbanti cig suufe ñi koy diiŋat, tey yéene Yàlla xiir leen ci réccu, ba ñu xam dëgg;
25in meekness setting right those who oppose, if God perhaps may sometime give them repentance to acknowledgment of [the] truth,
26 ñu rëcc ci fiirug Seytaane, mi leen jàpp niy jaam, te ñu dellusi ci seen xel yu rafet, ba sóobuwaat ci coobareg Yàlla.
26and that they may awake up out of the snare of the devil, [who are] taken by him, for *his* will.
