Galatians

3

1 Yéen waa Galasi, yéena ñàkk xel! Ku leen fàbbi, gannaaw bi ma leen yégalee ci lu leer ni ñu daaje Yeesu Kirist ca bant ba?
1Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you as crucified?
2I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
3 Mbaa du nii ngeen ñàkke xel, ba tàmbalee ci Xelum Yàlla, ba noppi yaakaar a mate ci seen jëfi bopp?
3Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?
4 Mbaa du fitna, yi ngeen daj yépp, dafa nar a neen? Mënuma koo gëm!
4Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
5 Bu leen Yàlla di may Xelam, di leen won jalooreem, ndax li ngeen sàmm yoon a tax, mu def ko, mbaa li ngeen dégg xebaar bu baax te gëm ko?
5He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
6Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”
7 Xamleen boog ne, boroom ngëm yi rekk ñooy doomi Ibraayma.
7Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham.
8 Mbind mi tëral na lu jiitu ne, Yàlla dina àtte jub ñi dul Yawut ci kaw ngëm. Kon looloo tax mu yégal Ibraayma lu jiitu xebaar bu baax bi ne ko: «Xeeti àddina yépp dinañu barkeel ci yaw.»
8The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.”
9 Kon ñi gëm, Yàlla dina leen barkeel, sukkandikoo ko ci seen ngëm, ni mu defal Ibraayma, boroom ngëm.
9So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
10 Ñiy wékku ñépp ci jëfi yoon wi, ñu alku lañu, ndaxte bind nañu ne: «Képp ku dul topp lépp lu ndigali yoon wi santaane, Yal na alku.»
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
11Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.”
12 Waaye yoon wi laajul ngëm. Mbind mi nee na: «Ku manoon a matal li yoon wi wax, kon dinga dund ba fàww.»
12The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.”
13 Waaye Kirist jot na nu ci alkande, ji yoon wi indi; mu gàddul nu ko, ba far alku moom ci boppam, ndaxte Mbind mi nee na: «Képp ku ñu rey, wékk ko ci bant, alku nga.»
13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”
14 Noonu barke bi Yàlla dig Ibraayma baawaan na, ba daj ñi dul Yawut te gëm Kirist Yeesu, te nu jot ci kaw ngëm Xel mu Sell, mi Yàlla dige.
14that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15 Bokk yi, maa ngi misaal wax ji ci jëfi doom Aadama. Xam ngeen ne, kóllëre gu ñu fas ba noppi, waruñu koo fecci, walla ñu ciy rax dara.
15Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.
16 Léegi nag Yàlla am na lu mu dig Ibraayma ak askanam. Mbind mi waxul: «Ak i sëtam,» mu mel ni ñu bare, waaye kenn la wax: «Ak sa askan,» maanaam Kirist.
16Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn’t say, “To seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “To your seed,” which is Christ.
17 Li ma ci bëgg a wax mooy lii: ndegam Yàlla fas na kóllëreem, yoonu Musaa, wi feeñ ñeenti téeméeri at ak fanweer gannaaw ga, du ko man a fecci, ba tebbi digeb Yàlla.
17Now I say this. A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.
18 Ndaxte xéewal, yi Yàllay dige, bu ñu doon jóge ci yoon wi, kon ajootuñu ci dige bi, fekk ci kaw dige la ko Yàlla maye Ibraayma.
18For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.
19What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
21 Ndax kon yoonu Musaa wi dafa juuyoo ak li Yàlla dige? Mukk! Su amoon yoon wu nit man a sàmm, ba mu jural ko dund gu sax, kon sàmm yoon dina tax nit jub fa kanam Yàlla.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.
22 Waaye yoon wi tëj na ñépp ci dooley bàkkaar, ngir ñi gëm Yeesu Kirist jot li Yàlla dige woon ci seen kaw ngëm.
22But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 Bi ngëm Yeesu Kirist feeñagul nag, yoon wi da noo tëjoon ràpp, ba kera ngëm di feeñ.
23But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 Waaye léegi, bi jamonoy ngëm ji ñëwee, nekkatunu ci kilifteefu yoon wi.
25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
26 Yéen ñépp doomi Yàlla ngeen ndax li ngeen bokk ci Kirist Yeesu ci kaw ngëm.
26For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 Yéen ñépp, ñi ñu sóob ci ndox ngir wone seen bokk ci Kirist, soloo ngeen Kirist.
27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 Kon nag amul xaajale ci diggante Yawut ak ki dul Yawut, ci diggante jaam ak gor, ci diggante góor ak jigéen. Yéen ñépp benn ngeen ci seen bokk ci Kirist.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 Bu ngeen bokkee ci Kirist, kon bokk ngeen ci askanu Ibraayma, te jot ngeen xéewal, yi ko Yàlla dig.
29If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.
