1得勝在乎耶和華“以色列啊，你要聽，你今日快要過約旦河，進去趕出比你又大又強的列國，佔領堅固、高得頂天的城市。
1Hear, Israel: you are to pass over the Jordan this day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the sky,
2那地的民族又高又大，就是亞衲族的人，是你知道的，你也聽過有人指著他們說：‘誰能在亞衲族人面前站立得住呢？’
2a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you have heard say, “Who can stand before the sons of Anak?”
3所以今日你要知道，耶和華你的 神要像烈火一樣在你面前過去；他要消滅他們，他要在你面前把他們征服；這樣你就可以照著耶和華吩咐你的，把他們趕走，使他們迅速滅亡。
3Know therefore this day, that Yahweh your God is he who goes over before you as a devouring fire; he will destroy them, and he will bring them down before you: so you shall drive them out, and make them to perish quickly, as Yahweh has spoken to you.
4耶和華你的 神把這些國的民從你面前驅逐出去以後，你心裡不要說：‘耶和華把我領進來取得這地，是因著我的義。’其實耶和華從你面前把這些國的民趕出去，是因著他們的惡。
4Don’t say in your heart, after Yahweh your God has thrust them out from before you, saying, “For my righteousness Yahweh has brought me in to possess this land”; because Yahweh drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.
5你進去取得他們的地，並不是因著你的義，也不是因著你心裡的正直，而是因著這些國的民的惡，耶和華你的 神才把他們從你面前趕出去，為要實踐他向你的列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各，起誓應許的話。
5Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, do you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may establish the word which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
6你要知道，耶和華你的 神把這美地賜給你作產業，並不是因著你的義；你本來是頑固的民族。
6Know therefore, that Yahweh your God doesn’t give you this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.
7複述以色列人的叛逆行為“你要記住，不可忘記，你在曠野怎樣惹耶和華你的 神發怒；自從你出了埃及地的那天起，直到你們來到這地方，你們常是反抗耶和華的。
7Remember, don’t forget, how you provoked Yahweh your God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you went forth out of the land of Egypt, until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against Yahweh.
8你們在何烈山又惹耶和華發怒，以致耶和華向你們發怒，要滅絕你們。
8Also in Horeb you provoked Yahweh to wrath, and Yahweh was angry with you to destroy you.
9那時，我上了山，要領受石版，就是耶和華與你們立約的石版；那時我在山上住了四十晝夜，不吃不喝。
9When I was gone up onto the mountain to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which Yahweh made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water.
10耶和華把那兩塊石版交給了我，是 神用手指寫的；石版上所寫的，是耶和華在大會之日，在山上從火中對你們所說的一切話。
10Yahweh delivered to me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them were all the words which Yahweh spoke with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
11過了四十晝夜，耶和華把那兩塊石版，就是約版，交給了我。
11It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Yahweh gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.
12耶和華對我說：‘你起來，從這裡趕快下去，因為你從埃及領出來的人已經敗壞了，他們很快就偏離了我吩咐他們走的道路，為自己鑄造了偶像。’
12Yahweh said to me, “Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.”
13“耶和華又對我說：‘你看這民族真是一個頑固的民族。
13Furthermore Yahweh spoke to me, saying, “I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people:
14你不要管我，我要消滅他們，把他們的名字從天下除去；我要使你成為一個比他們更強更大的國。’
14let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under the sky; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.”
15於是我轉身，從山上下來，山上有火燒著；我手中拿著兩塊約版。
15So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
16我觀看，見你們自己鑄造了牛犢，很快就離開了耶和華吩咐你們走的道路。
16I looked, and behold, you had sinned against Yahweh your God; you had made yourselves a molten calf: you had turned aside quickly out of the way which Yahweh had commanded you.
17我拿著那兩塊石版，從我兩手中扔下去，在你們眼前摔碎了。
17I took hold of the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes.
18為了你們所犯的一切罪，作了耶和華看為惡的事，惹他發怒，我就像先前那樣，俯伏在耶和華面前，四十晝夜，不吃不喝。
18I fell down before Yahweh, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water; because of all your sin which you sinned, in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.
19因為耶和華向你們大發烈怒，要消滅你們，我就很懼怕；但是那一次耶和華也聽了我的懇求。
19For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, with which Yahweh was angry against you to destroy you. But Yahweh listened to me that time also.
20耶和華也向亞倫發怒，要消滅他；那時候我也為亞倫祈禱。
20Yahweh was very angry with Aaron to destroy him: and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.
21我把你們的罪，就是你們鑄造的牛犢，拿去用火燒了，又把它搗碎，磨成細粉，像灰塵一樣；我把這灰塵撒在從山上流下來的溪水中。
21I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust: and I cast its dust into the brook that descended out of the mountain.
22“後來你們在他備拉、瑪撒、基博羅．哈他瓦，又惹耶和華發怒。
22At Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah, you provoked Yahweh to wrath.
23耶和華打發你們離開加低斯．巴尼亞，說：‘你們上去得我賜給你們作產業的地。’那時你們竟違背耶和華你們的 神的命令，不相信他，不聽從他的話。
23When Yahweh sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying, “Go up and possess the land which I have given you”; then you rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God, and you didn’t believe him, nor listen to his voice.
24自從我認識了你們那一天起，你們就常常悖逆耶和華。
24You have been rebellious against Yahweh from the day that I knew you.
25“因為耶和華說要消滅你們，我就俯伏在耶和華面前，共俯伏了四十晝夜。
25So I fell down before Yahweh the forty days and forty nights that I fell down, because Yahweh had said he would destroy you.
26我祈求耶和華，說：‘主耶和華啊，求你不要毀滅你的子民，你的產業，就是你藉著你的大能救贖，藉著你有力的手從埃及領出來的。
26I prayed to Yahweh, and said, “Lord Yahweh, don’t destroy your people and your inheritance, that you have redeemed through your greatness, that you have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
27求你記念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各；不要看這民族的頑固、邪惡和罪過，
27Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; don’t look to the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin,
28免得你領我們從那裡出來的那地的人說：“耶和華因為不能把他們領進他應許的地，又因為恨他們，所以才把他們領出來，要在曠野殺死他們。”
28lest the land you brought us out from say, ‘Because Yahweh was not able to bring them into the land which he promised to them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.’
29但是，他們是你的子民，是你的產業，又是你藉著大能和伸出來的膀臂領出來的。’”
29Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your great power and by your outstretched arm.”
