¹大香柏樹的比喻十一年三月初一日，耶和華的話臨到我說：

¹It happened in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²“人子啊！你要對埃及王法老和他的眾民說：‘論到你的偉大，誰能與你相比呢？

²Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom are you like in your greatness?

³看哪！亞述曾是黎巴嫩的香柏樹，枝條秀美，林影茂密，樹身高大，樹頂在茂密的枝葉之上。

³Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.

⁴眾水使它長大，深淵使它長高；有江河從深淵流出環繞它栽種之地，又有支流延到田間的眾樹。

⁴The waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: its rivers ran all around its plantation; and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.

⁵因此，它樹身高大，高過田間的眾樹；它發旺生長的時候，因為水源豐足，所以枝子繁多，枝條長長。

⁵Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it shot them forth.

⁶空中的飛鳥都在枝上搭窩；田野的走獸都在枝條下生產；所有大國都在它的樹蔭下居住。

⁶All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches all the animals of the field brought forth their young; and all great nations lived under its shadow.

⁷它樹身高大，枝條長長而顯得秀美，因為它的根扎在水多的地方。

⁷Thus was it beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.

⁸　神園中的香柏樹不能與它相比，松樹比不上它的枝子；楓樹也不及它的枝條；　神園中所有的樹木都比不上它的秀美。

⁸The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty.

⁹我使它因枝條繁多而顯得秀美，以致在　神的園中，伊甸所有的樹木都嫉妒它。

⁹I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.

¹⁰因驕狂而敗亡“‘因此，主耶和華這樣說：因為它樹身高大，樹頂在茂密的枝葉之上，又因它高大而心驕氣傲，

¹⁰Therefore thus said the Lord Yahweh: Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

¹¹我就把它交在列國中為首的人手中，他必定對付它；因著它的罪惡，我就把它驅逐出去。

¹¹I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.

¹²必有外族人，就是列國中最強暴的，把它砍下丟棄。它的枝葉落在山上和所有的谷中；它的枝子折斷，落在地上所有的水溝裡；地上的萬族都必走離它的蔭下，把它丟棄。

¹²Strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

¹³空中的飛鳥都住在倒下的樹身上，田野的走獸都臥在它的枝條間。

¹³On his ruin all the birds of the sky shall dwell, and all the animals of the field shall be on his branches;

¹⁴好使水旁所有的樹木都不會因樹身高大而自高，也不會使樹頂長到茂密的枝葉上，又使一切有水滋潤的樹都不會高傲地屹立；因為他們在世人中，與那些下到陰府的人一起，都交與死亡、交與地的深處了。

¹⁴to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all who drink water: for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with those who go down to the pit.

¹⁵“‘主耶和華這樣說：它下陰間的日子，我就因它以悲哀遮蓋深淵，阻塞深淵的江河，使大水停流；我要使黎巴嫩為它悲傷、田野所有的樹木都因它枯乾。

¹⁵Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when he went down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

¹⁶我把它扔下陰間，與那些下到陰府的人一起的時候，我就使列國因它墜落的響聲而震驚。伊甸所有的樹木，就是黎巴嫩有水滋潤、最佳最美的樹，都在地的深處得到安慰。

¹⁶I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. with those who descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth.

¹⁷這些樹與它一同下到陰間，往那些被刀劍所殺的人那裡去。他們作過它的膀臂，曾在列國中住在它的蔭下。

¹⁷They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, that lived under his shadow in the midst of the nations.

¹⁸在伊甸所有的樹木中，有誰的榮美和高大能與你相比呢？然而你卻要與伊甸的樹木一同下到地的深處。你要在沒有受割禮的人中，與被刀劍所殺的人一同躺臥。這樹就是法老和他的眾民。這是主耶和華說的。’”

¹⁸To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord Yahweh.
