1假神與真神無法相比以色列家啊！你們要聽耶和華對你們所說的話。
1Hear the word which Yahweh speaks to you, house of Israel!
2耶和華這樣說：“你們不要學習列國的行徑，列國因天象驚惶，你們卻不要因這些驚惶。
2Thus says Yahweh, “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.
3因為萬民所信奉的都是虛空，只是從林中砍下的樹木，是匠人用鑿刀製成的產品。
3For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe.
4他們用金銀把它修飾，用釘子和鎚子把它釘牢，使它不動搖。
4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it not move.
5它們像瓜田裡的稻草人，不能說話；它們必須要人抬著走，因為它們不能走路。你們不要害怕它們，因它們不能降禍，也不能降福。”
5They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don’t speak: they must be carried, because they can’t go. Don’t be afraid of them; for they can’t do evil, neither is it in them to do good.”
6耶和華啊！沒有可以跟你相比的；你是偉大的，你的名大有能力。
6There is none like you, Yahweh; you are great, and your name is great in might.
7萬國的王啊！誰敢不敬畏你呢？這是你應得的。因為在列國所有的智慧人中，以及在他們的全國裡，沒有可以跟你相比的。
7Who should not fear you, King of the nations? For it appertains to you; because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is none like you.
8他們全是頑梗愚昧，他們所領受的教導是來自那些虛無、木做的偶像。
8But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock.
9那些偶像鑲有經過錘煉的銀片，銀子是從他施運來的，也有從烏法運來的金子，都是匠人和金匠手作的產品。它們穿著藍色和紫色的衣服，全都是巧匠的作品。
9There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artificer and of the hands of the goldsmith; blue and purple for their clothing; they are all the work of skillful men.
10只有耶和華是真神；他是永活的 神，是永遠的君王。他一發怒，大地就震動，萬國都不能抵受他的忿怒。
10But Yahweh is the true God; he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the nations are not able to withstand his indignation.
11你們要對他們這樣說：“那些沒有創造天地的神，必從地上、從天下消滅。”
11You shall say this to them: The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.
12耶和華用自己的能力創造了大地，用自己的智慧堅立了世界，又用自己的聰明展開了諸天。
12He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens:
13他一發聲，空中眾水就澎湃；他使雲霧從地極上騰；他造了閃電和雷雨，又使風從他的倉庫裡吹出來。
13when he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasuries.
14人人都是頑梗無知；所有的金匠都因偶像羞愧，因為他們鑄造的像都是虛假、沒有氣息的。
14Every man has become brutish and without knowledge; every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
15偶像都是虛無的，是荒謬可笑的作品；到了討罪的時候，它們必被除滅。
15They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
16那作雅各產業的並不像這些偶像，因為他是萬物的創造者；以色列是屬他的民族，萬軍之耶和華是他的名。
16The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Yahweh of Armies is his name.
17不能逃避的災禍住在被圍困的城中的人哪！你們從地上拾起自己的行囊。
17Gather up your wares out of the land, you who live under siege.
18因為耶和華這樣說：“看哪！在這時候，我要把這地的居民投擲出去；又使他們受困苦，以致他們被壓倒。”
18For thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel it.
19因我的損傷，我有禍了！我的創傷不能醫治；但我說：“這是我的痛苦，我必須忍受。”
19Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.
20我的帳棚毀壞，我的繩索都折斷了；我的兒女都離我而去，不在這裡了；再沒有人支搭我的帳棚，掛起我的幔子。
20My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth from me, and they are no more: there is none to spread my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21牧人都是頑梗的，他們不求問耶和華；因此，他們不得亨通，他們所有的羊群都四散。
21For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Yahweh: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.
22聽哪！有風聲傳來，有大騷動從北方之地而來，要使猶大的城市荒涼，成為野狗的巢穴。
22The voice of news, behold, it comes, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.
23耶和華啊！我知道人的道路是不由自己的；人行走時，也不能確定自己的腳步。
23Yahweh, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
24耶和華啊！求你只按著公正懲治我，不要按著你的忿怒施行懲治，免得你使我衰微。
24Yahweh, correct me, but in measure: not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing.
25願你把你的烈怒傾倒在不認識你的列國，和不求告你名的萬族身上；因為他們吞吃了雅各，他們吞吃了他，把他消滅，使他的住處荒涼。
25Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name: for they have devoured Jacob, yes, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.
