¹預言法老必挫敗耶和華論到列國的話臨到耶利米先知。

¹The word of Yahweh which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.

²以下的話是關於埃及，論到埃及王法老尼哥的軍隊，這軍隊在猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬第四年，被巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒在靠近幼發拉底河的迦基米施擊敗。

²Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.

³“要準備好大小的盾牌，踏上戰場。

³Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle!

⁴要裝備馬匹，騎上戰馬；站好崗位，戴上頭盔；磨快槍矛，穿上鐵甲。

⁴Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, put on the coats of mail.

⁵但為甚麼我看見他們驚惶，轉身退後呢？他們的勇士被擊敗了，他們急速奔逃，不敢回轉。四圍都是驚慌。”這是耶和華的宣告。

⁵Why have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and have fled apace, and don’t look back: terror is on every side, says Yahweh.

⁶“快跑的跑不掉，勇士也不能逃脫；他們在北方、在幼發拉底河邊，都絆跌仆到。

⁶Don’t let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates have they stumbled and fallen.

⁷那像尼羅河上漲，像江河的水翻騰的是誰呢？

⁷Who is this who rises up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers?

⁸埃及像尼羅河上漲，像江河的水翻騰；它說：‘我要上漲，淹蓋大地；我要毀滅城鎮和城裡的居民。’

⁸Egypt rises up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he says, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and its inhabitants.

⁹馬匹啊，上前吧！戰車啊，狂奔吧！勇士啊，就是緊握盾牌的古實人和弗人，以及拉弓的呂底亞人哪，上陣吧！

⁹Go up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow.

¹⁰那是主萬軍之耶和華的日子，是報仇的日子，他要向自己的敵人報仇；刀劍必吞噬、飽餐他們的肉，痛飲他們的血。因為在北方，靠近幼發拉底河之地，主萬軍之耶和華要屠宰敵人像殺祭牲一樣。

¹⁰For that day is of the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

¹¹埃及的人民哪，上基列去取乳香吧！你雖多用藥物都是無效，你必不得醫治。

¹¹Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain do you use many medicines; there is no healing for you.

¹²列國聽見你的羞恥，大地滿了你的哀號；因為勇士和勇士相碰，雙方一同仆倒。”

¹²The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen both of them together.

¹³預言巴比倫王必來攻打埃及以下是耶和華對耶利米先知所說的話，論到巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒要來攻打埃及地。

¹³The word that Yahweh spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt.

¹⁴“你們要在埃及傳揚，在密奪宣告，在挪弗和答比匿宣揚，說：‘要站好崗位，作好準備，因為刀劍要吞滅你周圍的人！’

¹⁴Declare in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say, Stand forth, and prepare; for the sword has devoured around you.

¹⁵你的壯士為甚麼俯伏？他們站立不住（“你的壯士為甚麼俯伏？他們站立不住”或可參照《七十士譯本》譯作“為甚麼亞比士神逃跑？你的牛神站立不住”），是因耶和華把他們推倒了。

¹⁵Why are your strong ones swept away? they didn’t stand, because Yahweh pushed them.

¹⁶他使眾人絆跌，倒在一起；他們說：‘起來！我們要回到我們本族，和我們出生之地那裡去，躲避欺壓者的刀劍。’

¹⁶He made many to stumble, yes, they fell one on another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword.

¹⁷他們在那裡喊叫：‘埃及王法老不過是喧嘩的聲音；他已失去機會。’”

¹⁷They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by.

¹⁸名叫萬軍之耶和華的王宣告說：“我指著我的永生起誓，必有一位要來，像群山中的他泊山，像海邊的迦密山一樣。

¹⁸As I live, says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.

¹⁹住在埃及的人民哪！要為自己預備被擄時所需的器物；因為挪弗必成為荒場，必被燒毀，無人居住。

¹⁹You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis shall become a desolation, and shall be burnt up, without inhabitant.

²⁰埃及是一頭肥美的母牛，但北方的牛蟲已經來到牠身上（“牠身上”有古卷作“來到了”）。

²⁰Egypt is a very beautiful heifer; but destruction out of the north has come, it has come.

²¹它中間的雇傭兵像棚裡的肥牛犢，他們一同轉身逃跑，沒有一個站立得住；因為他們遭災的日子、受懲罰的時候，已經臨到他們身上。

²¹Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they didn’t stand: for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation.

²²它逃走的聲音像蛇行的響聲，因為敵人要成隊而來，像砍伐樹木的，拿著斧子前來攻擊它。

²²The sound of it shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters.

²³他們要砍伐它的森林。這是耶和華的宣告；它的森林雖然茂密難以通過，但敵人比蝗蟲還多，無法數算。

²³They shall cut down her forest, says Yahweh, though it can’t be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.

²⁴埃及的人民必蒙羞受辱，必交在北方的民族的手中。”

²⁴The daughter of Egypt shall be disappointed; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

²⁵萬軍之耶和華以色列的　神說：“看哪！我必懲罰挪的亞捫神、法老和那些倚靠法老的人。

²⁵Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him:

²⁶我必把他們交在那些尋索他們性命的人的手裡，就是交在巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒和他的臣僕的手中。但以後，埃及必再有人居住，像從前一樣。”這是耶和華的宣告。

²⁶and I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, says Yahweh.

²⁷　神必拯救他的子民“至於你，我的僕人雅各啊！你不要懼怕。以色列啊！你不要驚慌。因為我必從遠方拯救你回來，從被擄之地必拯救你的後裔脫離他們被擄之地。雅各必歸回，得享平靜安逸，沒有人可以使他害怕。

²⁷But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant, neither be dismayed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

²⁸我的僕人雅各啊！你不要懼怕。因為我與你同在；我要消滅我趕逐你去的列國。卻必不消滅你。我要按公正懲治你，決不能免你受罰。”這是耶和華的宣告。

²⁸Don’t you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh; for I am with you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you; but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.
