1關於非利士的預言在法老攻擊迦薩以先，耶和華論到非利士人的話臨到耶利米先知。
1The word of Yahweh that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before that Pharaoh struck Gaza.
2耶和華這樣說：“看哪！有水從北方漲起，成為一股氾濫的洪流，淹沒大地和地上的一切，淹沒城鎮和住在城中的居民。人必呼喊，地上所有的居民必哀號。
2Thus says Yahweh: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and those who dwell therein; and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
3因為聽見戰馬的蹄聲，還有戰車轔轔和車輪轆轆的響聲，作父親的雙手酸軟無力，不能照顧他們的兒女。
3At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers don’t look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
4日子將到，非利士人必全遭毀滅，所有曾援助推羅和西頓仍然倖存的人必被剪除，因為耶和華要毀滅非利士人，就是迦斐託島餘剩的人。
4because of the day that comes to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains: for Yahweh will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.
5迦薩成了禿頭的，亞實基倫靜默無聲（“靜默無聲”或譯：“被毀壞了”），在它們的平原上（“在它們的平原上”或參照《七十士譯本》譯作“亞衲族”﹝參書11:21~22﹞）餘剩的人哪，你們劃傷自己的身體要到幾時呢？”
5Baldness has come on Gaza; Ashkelon is brought to nothing, the remnant of their valley: how long will you cut yourself?
6耶和華的刀劍哪，你要到幾時才可停下來呢？請你入鞘吧！休息靜止吧！
6You sword of Yahweh, how long will it be before you be quiet? Put up yourself into your scabbard; rest, and be still.
7但耶和華既吩咐了它，又怎能停下來呢？他指派了它去攻擊亞實基倫和沿海一帶。
7How can you be quiet, since Yahweh has given you a command? Against Ashkelon, and against the seashore, there has he appointed it.
