¹可拉、大坍和亞比蘭叛變利未的曾孫、哥轄的孫子、以斯哈的兒子可拉，和流本子孫中以利押的兒子大坍、亞比蘭，與比勒的兒子安，帶著人來，

¹Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:

²反抗摩西，還有以色列人中的二百五十個人，就是會眾的領袖；會眾中被選出有名望的人。

²and they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown;

³他們聚集起來反抗摩西和亞倫，對他們說：“你們太過分了，全體會眾個個都是聖潔的，耶和華也在他們中間，你們為甚麼高抬自己，超過耶和華的會眾呢？”

³and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Yahweh is among them: why then lift yourselves up above the assembly of Yahweh?”

⁴摩西聽見了，就臉伏於地，

⁴When Moses heard it, he fell on his face:

⁵對可拉和他的同黨說：“到了早晨，耶和華就要使人知道誰是屬他的；誰是聖潔的，就叫誰親近他；誰是他揀選的，就叫誰親近他。

⁵and he spoke to Korah and to all his company, saying, “In the morning Yahweh will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him: even him whom he shall choose he will cause to come near to him.

⁶你們要這樣作：可拉和你的同黨，你們要拿香爐來；

⁶Do this: take censers, Korah, and all his company;

⁷明天你們要在耶和華面前，把火盛在爐中，把香放在上面；耶和華揀選誰，誰就是聖潔的，你們利未人太過分了。”

⁷and put fire in them, and put incense on them before Yahweh tomorrow: and it shall be that the man whom Yahweh chooses, he shall be holy. You have gone too far, you sons of Levi!”

⁸摩西又對可拉說：“利未人哪，請聽。

⁸Moses said to Korah, “Hear now, you sons of Levi!

⁹以色列的　神把你們從以色列會眾中分別出來，使你們親近他，辦理耶和華帳幕的事務，又站在會眾面前替他們供職；

⁹Is it a small thing to you, that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of Yahweh, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;

¹⁰耶和華又使你和你所有的兄弟，就是利未的子孫，一同親近他，這在你們看來是小事嗎？你們還要尋求祭司職分嗎？

¹⁰and that he has brought you near, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you? and do you seek the priesthood also?

¹¹所以你和你的同黨聚集起來反抗耶和華；亞倫算甚麼呢？你們竟向他發怨言。”

¹¹Therefore you and all your company are gathered together against Yahweh: and Aaron, what is he that you murmur against him?”

¹²摩西派人去把以利押的兒子大坍和亞比蘭叫來；他們說：“我們不上去。

¹²Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, “We won’t come up:

¹³你把我們從流奶與蜜的地帶上來，要在曠野殺死我們，這算小事嗎？你還要自立為王管轄我們嗎？

¹³is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must also make yourself a prince over us?

¹⁴況且你沒有把我們領到流奶與蜜的地，也沒有把田地和葡萄園給我們作產業。難道你要把這些人的眼睛剜出來嗎？我們不上去。”

¹⁴Moreover you haven’t brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: will you put out the eyes of these men? We won’t come up.”

¹⁵於是摩西大怒，對耶和華說：“求你不要悅納他們的禮物，我沒有奪過他們一頭驢，也沒有害過他們一個人。”

¹⁵Moses was very angry, and said to Yahweh, “Don’t respect their offering: I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.”

¹⁶他們的刑罰摩西對可拉說：“明天你和你的同黨，以及亞倫，都要站在耶和華面前。

¹⁶Moses said to Korah, “You and all your company go before Yahweh, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow:

¹⁷你們各人要拿著自己的香爐，把香盛在上面；你們各人要把自己的香爐帶到耶和華面前，共二百五十個香爐；你和亞倫也各人拿著自己的香爐。”

¹⁷and each man take his censer, and put incense on them, and each man bring before Yahweh his censer, two hundred fifty censers; you also, and Aaron, each his censer.”

¹⁸於是，他們各人拿著自己的香爐，盛上火，加上香，與摩西和亞倫一同站在會幕門口。

¹⁸They each took his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting with Moses and Aaron.

¹⁹可拉召聚了全體會眾到會幕門口，來攻擊摩西和亞倫，耶和華的榮光就向全體會眾顯現。

¹⁹Korah assembled all the congregation against them to the door of the Tent of Meeting: and the glory of Yahweh appeared to all the congregation.

²⁰耶和華對摩西和亞倫說：

²⁰Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

²¹“你們要離開這會眾，我好在眨眼間把他們吞滅。”

²¹“Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!”

²²摩西和亞倫就俯伏在地，說：“　神啊，萬人之靈的　神啊，一人犯罪，你就要向全體會眾發怒嗎？”

²²They fell on their faces, and said, “God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”

²³耶和華對摩西說：

²³Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁴“你要吩咐會眾說：‘你們要離開可拉、大坍、亞比蘭帳幕的四周。’”

²⁴“Speak to the congregation, saying, ‘Get away from around the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram!’”

²⁵於是摩西起來，到大坍和亞比蘭那裡去；以色列的長老也隨著他去了。

²⁵Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.

²⁶摩西告訴會眾：“你們要遠離這些惡人的帳幕，凡是他們的東西，你們都不可摸，免得你們因他們的一切罪惡同遭毀滅。”

²⁶He spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins!”

²⁷於是，眾人離開了可拉、大坍、亞比蘭帳幕的四周；大坍、亞比蘭就帶著妻子、兒女和小孩出來，站在自己的帳幕門口。

²⁷So they went away from the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.

²⁸摩西說：“由此你們可以知道，我作這一切事，是耶和華派我作的，並不是出於我自己的心意。

²⁸Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that Yahweh has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.

²⁹如果這些人死亡像一般人死亡一樣，或是他們所遭遇的像一般人的遭遇一樣，那麼就不是耶和華派我來的。

²⁹If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then Yahweh hasn’t sent me.

³⁰如果耶和華作一件新事，使地開口，把他們和他們所有的都吞下去，叫他們活活地下到陰間，這樣你們就知道這些人是藐視耶和華了。”

³⁰But if Yahweh make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down alive into Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. ; then you shall understand that these men have despised Yahweh.”

³¹摩西說完了這一切話，他們腳下的地就裂開。

³¹It happened, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split apart that was under them;

³²地開了口，把他們和他們的家眷，以及一切屬可拉的人和財物，都吞了下去。

³²and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who appertained to Korah, and all their goods.

³³這樣，他們和一切屬他們的，都活活地下到陰間，地在他們上面合閉，他們就從會眾中滅亡了。

³³So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. : and the earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly.

³⁴在他們四周的以色列眾人，聽見他們的呼叫，就都逃跑，說：“恐怕地也把我們吞下去。”

³⁴All Israel that were around them fled at their cry; for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us up!”

³⁵又有火從耶和華那裡出來，把那獻香的二百五十個人吞滅了。

³⁵Fire came forth from Yahweh, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.

³⁶留作記念的香爐耶和華對摩西說：

³⁶Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

³⁷“你要吩咐亞倫祭司的兒子以利亞撒，叫他把那些香爐從火中拾起來，把火撒在別處，因為那些香爐是聖的；

³⁷“Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire yonder; for they are holy,

³⁸那些自害己命的人的香爐也是聖的，你們要把它們錘成薄片，用來包蓋祭壇；那些香爐本是他們在耶和華面前獻過的，所以已經成為聖的，並且可以給以色列作鑒戒。”

³⁸even the censers of these sinners against their own lives; and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before Yahweh; therefore they are holy; and they shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”

³⁹於是，以利亞撒祭司把被火焚燒的人獻過的銅香爐拿起來，叫人錘成薄片，用來包蓋祭壇，

³⁹Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were burnt had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,

⁴⁰給以色列人作鑒戒，叫不是亞倫子孫的外人，不可近前來，在耶和華面前燒香，免得他像可拉和他的同黨有一樣的遭遇；這是照著耶和華藉摩西吩咐以利亞撒的。

⁴⁰to be a memorial to the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger, who isn’t of the seed of Aaron, comes near to burn incense before Yahweh; that he not be as Korah, and as his company: as Yahweh spoke to him by Moses.

⁴¹會眾因亞倫代求而獲救第二天，以色列全體會眾都向摩西和亞倫發怨言，說：“你們害死了耶和華的子民。”

⁴¹But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed Yahweh’s people!”

⁴²會眾聚集攻擊摩西和亞倫的時候，他們轉身向會幕觀看，見有雲彩遮蓋會幕，耶和華的榮光顯現出來。

⁴²It happened, when the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the Tent of Meeting: and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Yahweh appeared.

⁴³摩西和亞倫就來到會幕前面。

⁴³Moses and Aaron came to the front of the Tent of Meeting.

⁴⁴耶和華吩咐摩西說：

⁴⁴Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

⁴⁵“你們要離開這會眾，我好在眨眼間把他們消滅。”他們二人就俯伏在地。

⁴⁵“Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!” They fell on their faces.

⁴⁶摩西對亞倫說：“你要拿著香爐，把壇上的火盛在裡頭，又加上香，快快帶到會眾那裡去，為他們贖罪，因為有震怒從耶和華面前出來，瘟疫已經開始了。”

⁴⁶Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire from off the altar in it, and lay incense on it, and carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from Yahweh! The plague has begun.”

⁴⁷亞倫照著摩西吩咐的把香爐拿來，跑到會眾中間，果然，瘟疫已經在人民中間開始了；他就加上香，為人民贖罪。

⁴⁷Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and behold, the plague has begun among the people: and he put on the incense, and made atonement for the people.

⁴⁸他站在死人與活人中間，瘟疫就止住了。

⁴⁸He stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

⁴⁹除了因可拉事件死亡的以外，因瘟疫死亡的有一萬四千七百人。

⁴⁹Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides those who died about the matter of Korah.

⁵⁰亞倫回到會幕門口摩西那裡，瘟疫已經止住了。（本章第36~50節在《馬索拉抄本》為17:1~15）

⁵⁰Aaron returned to Moses to the door of the Tent of Meeting: and the plague was stayed.
