¹應當服從政府政府的權柄，人人都應當服從。因為沒有一樣權柄不是從　神來的；掌權的都是　神設立的。

¹Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.

²所以抗拒掌權的，就是反對　神所設立的；反對的人必自招刑罰。

²Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.

³執政的不是要使行善的懼怕，而是要使作惡的懼怕。你想不怕掌權的嗎？只要行善，就會得到稱讚；

³For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same,

⁴因為他是　神的僕役，是對你有益的。但如果你作惡，就應當懼怕；因為他佩劍，不是沒有作用的。他是　神的僕役，是向作惡的人施行刑罰的。

⁴for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.

⁵所以你們必須服從，不但是為了刑罰，也是因為良心的緣故。

⁵Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

⁶因此，你們也當納稅，因為他們是　神的差役，專責處理這事的。

⁶For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, attending continually on this very thing.

⁷你們要向各人清還所欠的；應當納稅的，就要給他納稅；應當進貢的，就給他進貢；應當敬畏的，就敬畏他；應當尊敬的，就尊敬他。

⁷Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.

⁸愛是成全律法的不要欠人的債；但在彼此相愛的事上，要覺得是欠了人的債。愛別人的，就成全了律法。

⁸Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

⁹那“不可姦淫，不可殺人，不可偷盜，不可貪心”等等的誡命，都包括在“愛人如己”這一句話裡面了。

⁹For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not give false testimony,” “You shall not covet,” TR adds “You shall not give false testimony,” Exodus 20:13-15,17; Deuteronomy 5:17-19,21 and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Leviticus 19:18

¹⁰愛是不加害於人的，所以愛是成全律法的。

¹⁰Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

¹¹總要披戴基督還有，你們知道這是甚麼時期了，現在正是你們應該睡醒的時候，因為我們得救，現在比初信的時候更加接近了。

¹¹Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.

¹²黑夜已深，白晝近了，所以我們要除掉暗昧的行為，帶上光明的武器。

¹²The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the works of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light.

¹³行事為人要光明磊落，好像行在白晝。不可荒宴醉酒，不可放蕩縱慾，不可紛爭嫉妒。

¹³Let us walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.

¹⁴總要披戴主耶穌基督，不要為肉體安排，去放縱私慾。

¹⁴But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
