¹　神发言，回答约伯那时，耶和华在旋风中回答约伯，说：

¹Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

²“这以无知无识的言语，使我的旨意暗晦不明的是谁呢？

²Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

³现在你要如勇士束腰，我要问你，你要告诉我。

³Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

⁴创造的奇妙我奠定大地根基的时候，你在哪里呢？你若有聪明，就只管说吧。

⁴Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

⁵你一定晓得是谁定大地的尺度，是谁把准绳拉在大地之上？

⁵Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

⁶地的基础奠在哪里，地的角石是谁安放的？

⁶Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

⁷那时晨星一起歌唱，　神的众子也都欢呼。

⁷When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

⁸海水冲出如婴孩出母胎，那时谁用门把海水关闭呢？

⁸Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

⁹是我以云彩当作海的衣服，以幽暗当作包裹海的布；

⁹When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

¹⁰我为海定界限，又安置门闩和门户，

¹⁰And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

¹¹说：‘你只可到这里，不可越过，你狂傲的波浪要在这里止住。’

¹¹And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

¹²自你有生以来，你何曾吩咐过晨光照耀，使黎明的曙光知道自己的本位，

¹²Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

¹³叫这光照遍大地的四极，把恶人从那里抖掉呢？

¹³That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

¹⁴因着这光，地面改变如在泥上盖上印，万象显出如衣服一样。

¹⁴It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

¹⁵恶人必得不到亮光，高举的膀臂必被折断。

¹⁵And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

¹⁶你曾到过海的泉源，在深渊的底处行走过吗？

¹⁶Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

¹⁷死亡的门曾向你显露吗？死荫的门你曾见过吗？

¹⁷Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

¹⁸地的广阔，你明白吗？你若完全知道，就只管说吧。

¹⁸Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

¹⁹哪条是到光明居所的道路？黑暗的本位在哪里？

¹⁹Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

²⁰你能把光与暗带到它们的境地吗？你晓得通到它们居所的路吗？

²⁰That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

²¹你是知道的，因为那时你已经出生了，你一生的日数也很多。

²¹Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

²²你曾入过雪库，或见过雹仓吗？

²²Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,

²³这些雪雹是我为降患难的时候，为打仗和争战的日子所存留的。

²³Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

²⁴光从哪条路散开，东风从哪里分散在地上？

²⁴By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

²⁵谁为大雨分水道，谁为雷电定道路？

²⁵Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

²⁶使雨降在无人之地，落在无人居住的旷野，

²⁶To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

²⁷使荒废之地得着滋润，使青草在干旱之地得以长起来呢？

²⁷To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

²⁸雨有父亲吗？露珠是谁生的呢？

²⁸Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

²⁹冰出自谁的胎？天上的霜是谁所生的呢？

²⁹Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

³⁰众水坚硬如石头，深渊的表面冻结成冰。

³⁰The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

³¹你能系住昴星的结吗？你能解开参星的带吗？

³¹Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

³²你能按时领出玛查鲁夫星系吗？你能引导北斗和随从它的众星吗？

³²Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

³³你晓得天的定例吗？你能在地上建立天的权威吗？

³³Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

³⁴你能向密云扬声吗？你能使洪水淹没你吗？

³⁴Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

³⁵你能差派闪电，闪电就发出，并且对你说：‘我们在这里’吗？

³⁵Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?

³⁶谁把智慧放在怀里，或把聪明赐于人的心中？

³⁶Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

³⁷尘土融合成团，土块粘结在一起的时候，

³⁷Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

³⁸谁能凭智慧数算云天呢？谁能把天上的水袋倾倒呢？

³⁸When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

³⁹狮子在洞中蹲伏，在藏身之处躺卧埋伏的时候，

³⁹Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

⁴⁰你能为母狮猎取食物吗？你能使食欲饱足吗？

⁴⁰When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

⁴¹乌鸦雏鸟因缺乏食物飞来飞去，向　神哀求的时候，谁为乌鸦预备食物呢？”

⁴¹Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
