¹And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

¹希西家向以賽亞求救（賽37:1~5）希西家王聽見了，就把自己的衣服撕裂，披上麻布，來到耶和華的殿。

²And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

²王又派王宮總管以利亞敬、書記舍伯那和祭司中的長老披上麻布，到亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞先知那裡。

³And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

³他們對他說：“希西家這樣說：‘今天是痛苦、責罰和侮辱的日子，好像嬰兒的產期到了，卻沒有力量生產。

⁴It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

⁴或者耶和華你的　神聽到拉伯沙基所說的話（他就是他的主亞述王派來辱罵永活的　神的人），就因著耶和華你的　神所聽見的話責罰他。所以請為這裡餘剩的人獻上禱告。’”

⁵So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

⁵希西家王的臣僕就來到以賽亞那裡。

⁶And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

⁶以賽亞安慰的話（賽37:6~7）以賽亞對他們說：“你們要這樣告訴你們的主人：‘耶和華這樣說：不要因你所聽見亞述王的隨從褻瀆我的話而驚怕。

⁷Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

⁷看哪，我要使他的心驚顫（“使他的心驚顫”原文作“放一個靈在他裡面”），他將聽見消息，就退回自己的地方去；我要使他在自己的國土倒在刀下。’”

⁸So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

⁸亞述王恐嚇的話（賽37:8~13）拉伯沙基回去，發覺亞述王正在攻打立拿，因為他曾聽說亞述王已拔營離開拉吉。

⁹And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

⁹亞述王聽見有關古實王特哈加的消息說：“看哪，他出來要和你交戰。”於是亞述王再派使者去見希西家說：

¹⁰Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

¹⁰“你們要對猶大王希西家說：‘不要讓你所信靠的　神欺騙你說：耶路撒冷不會交在亞述王的手中。

¹¹Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

¹¹看哪，你聽過亞述列王怎樣對付列國，把它們完全毀滅，你會得著解救嗎？

¹²Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

¹²我祖先所消滅的民族，就是歌散人、哈蘭人、利色人和在提．拉撒的伊甸人，他們的神可曾解救他們嗎？

¹³Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

¹³哈馬王、亞珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王在哪裡呢？’”

¹⁴And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

¹⁴希西家向　神禱告（賽37:14~20）希西家從使者手中接過信件，念完了，就上耶和華的殿。希西家把信件在耶和華面前展開。

¹⁵And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

¹⁵希西家在耶和華面前禱告，說：“耶和華以色列的　神，坐在二基路伯中間的啊，只有你是地上萬國的　神，天地是你創造的。

¹⁶LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

¹⁶耶和華啊！求你側耳聆聽；耶和華啊！求你睜眼垂顧；聽那派使者來侮辱永活的　神的西拿基立的話。

¹⁷Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

¹⁷耶和華啊！亞述列王真的曾毀壞列國和它們的領土，

¹⁸And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

¹⁸把它們的神丟進火裡，但他們並不是神，不過是人手用木頭、石頭做成的，因此他們可以把他們除掉。

¹⁹Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.

¹⁹現在，耶和華我們的　神啊，求你從他的手中把我們拯救出來，地上萬國就可以知道只有你耶和華才是　神。”

²⁰Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

²⁰以賽亞預言亞述必敗（賽37:21~35）於是亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞派人去見希西家，說：“耶和華以色列的　神這樣說：‘你向我禱告有關亞述王西拿基立的事，我已經聽見了。’

²¹This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

²¹下面是耶和華所說關於他的話：‘錫安的居民（“居民”原文作“處女”）藐視你，嗤笑你；耶路撒冷的居民在你背後搖頭。

²²Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

²²你辱罵了誰，褻瀆了誰？你揚聲攻擊誰呢？你高舉眼目是向誰傲慢呢？就是攻擊以色列的聖者。

²³By thy messengers thou hast reproached the LORD, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

²³你藉著你的使者侮辱了我的主，你說－－我要用大批的戰車，攀登眾山的高峰，到達黎巴嫩山的頂端，砍伐高大的香柏樹，佳美的松木；我要進入極遠的峰巒，最茂密的森林。

²⁴I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

²⁴我掘井飲外地的水，我用腳掌踏乾埃及所有的河道。

²⁵Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

²⁵你沒有聽過嗎？在遠古我已決定，在古時我已籌劃，現在我要實現，就是你使設防城變成亂堆。

²⁶Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

²⁶他們的居民沒有能力，驚惶、羞慚。他們好像田野的嫩草，青綠的蔬菜，和房頂上的草，還未長成就枯萎了。

²⁷But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

²⁷你坐下，你出去，你進來，以及你對我所發的烈怒，我都知道。

²⁸Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

²⁸因為你向我發了烈怒，你狂傲的話進入我的耳中，我要把我的鉤子鉤在你的鼻子上，把嚼環套在你的嘴上，使你在你來的路上轉回去。

²⁹And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

²⁹‘這要給你作一個徵兆：這一年要吃自然生長的，第二年也要吃自己長出來的，第三年要撒種、收割，栽種葡萄園，吃它們的果子。

³⁰And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

³⁰猶大家逃脫的餘民，必再往下扎根，往上結果；

³¹For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

³¹因為將有剩餘的人從耶路撒冷出來，將有逃脫的人從錫安山而來，耶和華的熱心必成全這事。

³²Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

³²因此，耶和華論到亞述王這樣說：他不會來到這城，不會在那裡射箭，也不會拿著盾牌向城進攻，不會築起土堆圍攻它。

³³By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

³³他必循他來的路回去，他必不能來到這城，這是耶和華的宣告。

³⁴For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

³⁴為了我和我僕人大衛的緣故，我必保護這城，拯救這城。’”

³⁵And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

³⁵　神懲罰亞述王（代下32:20~21；賽37:36~38）那天晚上，耶和華的使者出去，在亞述軍營殺了十八萬五千人。早上，他們起來的時候，看哪，到處都是死屍。

³⁶So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

³⁶於是亞述王西拿基立拔營離開，回去住在尼尼微。

³⁷And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

³⁷一日，他正在他的神亞斯洛的廟中叩拜的時候，亞得米勒和沙利巴用刀刺殺了他，然後逃到亞拉臘地。他的兒子以撒哈頓接續他作王。
