¹Elihu spake moreover, and said,

¹人的善惡對　神無所損益以利戶回答說：

²Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?

²“你說：‘我在　神面前更顯為義’，你自以為這話有理嗎？

³For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

³你還說：‘你有甚麼益處呢？我不犯罪有甚麼好處？’

⁴I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

⁴我要用言語回答你，和與你在一起的朋友。

⁵Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

⁵你要往天仰望觀看，細看高過你的雲天。

⁶If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

⁶你若犯罪，你能使　神受害嗎？你的過犯若增多，你又能使他受損嗎？

⁷If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

⁷你若為人正義，你能給他甚麼呢？他從你手裡能領受甚麼呢？

⁸Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

⁸你的邪惡只能害像你的人，你的公義也只能叫世人得益。

⁹By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

⁹他們因多受欺壓而呼叫，因受強權者的壓制而呼求。

¹⁰But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

¹⁰卻沒有說：‘　神我的創造主在哪裡呢？他使人在夜間歌唱。

¹¹Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

¹¹他教導我們過於教導地上的走獸，使我們有智慧勝於空中的飛鳥。’

¹²There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

¹²因為惡人驕傲的緣故，他們在那裡呼求，　神卻不回答。

¹³Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

¹³真的，　神必不垂聽虛妄的呼求，全能者也必不留意，

¹⁴Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

¹⁴更何況你說你不得見他。你的案件在他面前，你忍耐地等候他吧！

¹⁵But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

¹⁵但現在因為他還沒有在忿怒中降罰，也不大理會人的過犯；

¹⁶Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.

¹⁶所以約伯開口說空話，多說無知識的話。”
