¹My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:

¹當遠離淫婦我兒，要留心聽我的智慧，側耳聽我的哲理，

²That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.

²好讓你持守明辨的態度，你的嘴唇謹守知識。

³For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

³因為淫婦的嘴唇滴下蜂蜜，她的口比油更滑；

⁴But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

⁴至終卻苦似苦菫，快如兩刃的劍。

⁵Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

⁵她的腳走下死地，她的腳步踏向陰間。

⁶Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

⁶她不理會生命之路，她的路徑變遷無定，自己也不知道。

⁷Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

⁷孩子們，現在要聽從我，不可離棄我口中的話。

⁸Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

⁸你的道路要遠離她，不可走近她的家門；

⁹Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:

⁹免得你的精力給了別人，你的年日交給了殘忍的人；

¹⁰Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;

¹⁰免得外人飽享你的財物，你勞碌得來的歸入別人的家。

¹¹And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,

¹¹在你生命終結，你的肉體和身軀衰殘的時候，你就悲歎，

¹²And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

¹²說：“我為甚麼恨惡管教，我的心為甚麼輕視責備，

¹³And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

¹³不聽從我老師的話，也不留心聽那些教導我的人。

¹⁴I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

¹⁴在眾民的集會中，我幾乎落在萬劫不復之地。”

¹⁵Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

¹⁵要專愛妻子你要喝自己池中的水，飲自己井裡的活水。

¹⁶Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.

¹⁶你的泉源怎麼可以外溢？你的河水怎麼可以流在街上？

¹⁷Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.

¹⁷它們要獨歸你一人所有，不要讓外人與你共享。

¹⁸Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.

¹⁸要使你的泉源蒙福，要喜悅你年輕時所娶的妻子。

¹⁹Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

¹⁹她像可愛的母鹿，人所喜悅的母山羊，願她的乳房時常使你滿足，願她的愛情常常使你戀慕。

²⁰And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?

²⁰我兒，為甚麼戀慕淫婦？為甚麼擁抱妓女的胸懷呢？

²¹For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

²¹因為人的道路都在耶和華眼前，他也審察人的一切路徑。

²²His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

²²惡人必被自己的罪孽捉住，他必被自己罪惡的繩索纏住。

²³He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

²³他必因不受管教而死亡，又因自己過分愚妄而走進歧途。
