¹The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

¹हे थियुफिलुस, मइँ आपन पहिली किताबे मँ ओन सबइ कामे क बारे मँ लिखेउँ ह जेका सुरू स ईसू किहेस ह अउर

²Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

²उ दिना तलक उ प्रेरितन क जेनका उ चुनेस जब ताई उ पवित्तर आतिमा क आदेस क अऩुसार उ सरगे मँ ऊपर नाहीं उठाइ लीन्ह गवा।

³To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

³आपन मउत क पाछे उ आपन क ठोस प्रमाण लइ के ओनके समन्वा परगट भवा कि उ जिअत बा। उ चालीस दिना तलक ओनके अगवा परगट होत रहा अउर परमेस्सर क राज्य क बारे मँ ओनका बतावत रहा।

⁴And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

⁴फिन एक दाई ओनके संग खइया क खात रहा तउ उ ओनका हुकुम दिहेस, “यरूसलेम क जिन तजा अउर मुला जेकरे बारे मँ तोसे कह्यों कि, परमपिता क सपथ पूरा होइ तलक जोहत रहा।

⁵For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

⁵काहेकि यूहन्ना तउ पानी स बपतिस्मा दिहेस, मुला अब तनिक दिना क पाछे पवित्तर आतिमा स बपतिस्मा दीन्ह जाइ।”

⁶When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

⁶तउ जब उ प्रेरितन आपुस मँ भेंटेन, उ पचे पूछेन, “पर्भू! का तू इहइ समइ प इस्राएल क राज्य क फिनस लिआइ देब्या?”

⁷And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

⁷उ ओनसे कहेस, “उ बेलन या तिथियन क जानब तोहार काम नाहीं, जेका परमपिता खुद आपन अधिकार स तय किहे अहइ।

⁸But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

⁸मुला जब पवित्तर आतिमा तोह प आइ, तोहका सक्ती मिलि जाइ। अउर यरुसलेम मँ, समूचइ यहूदिया अउर सामरिया मँ अउर धरती क छोर तलक तू पचे मोर साच्छी होब्या।”

⁹And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

⁹ऍतना कहे क पाछे ओनकइ लखत लखत ओका सरगे मँ ऊपर उठाइ लीन्ह गवा अउर फिन एक बादर ओका आँखी स ओझल कइ दिहेस।

¹⁰And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

¹⁰जब उ जात रहा तउ पचे आँखी पसारि के ओका निहारत रहेन। तबहिं फउरन सफेद कपड़ा पहिरिके दुइ मनई ओकरे समन्वा आइके ठाड़ भएन।

¹¹Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

¹¹अउर बोलेन, “अरे गलीली मनइयो। तू पचे हुवाँ ठाड़ भवा टकटकी काहे लगाए बाट्या? इ ईसू तोहरे बीच स सरगे मँ ऊपर उठाइ लीन्ह गवा, जइसे तू ओका सरगे मँ जात देख्या, वइसे ही उ फिन वापिस लौटि आई।”

¹²Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

¹²फिन उ प्रेरितन जैतून नाउँ क पर्वत स, यरूसलेम लौटि आएन जउन यरुसलेम स कउनो एक किलोमीटर दूर रहा।

¹³And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

¹³अउर हुवाँ पहुँचिके ऊपर क उ कमरा मँ गएन जहाँ उ पचे ठहरा रहेन। इ पचे रहेन-पतरस, यूहन्ना, याकूब, अन्द्रियास, फिलिप्पुस, थोमा, बरतुलमै अउर मत्ती, हलफई क बेटवा याकूब, समौन जेलोतेस अउर याकूब क बेटवा यहूदा।

¹⁴These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

¹⁴ऍनके संग कछू स्त्रियन, ईसू क महतारी मरियम अउर ईसू क भाई भी रहेन। इ सबइ आपन क एक संग पराथना मँ चित लगाए राखत रहेन।

¹⁵And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

¹⁵फिन इ दिनन मँ पतरस भाई-बन्द क बीच खड़ा होइके, जेकर गनती कउनो एक सउ बीस रही, कहेस,

¹⁶Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

¹⁶“मोरे भाइयो, ईसू क गिरफतार करावइ वाले मनइयन क अगुआ यहूदा क बारे मँ, पवित्तर सास्तर कउ लेख जेका दाऊद आपन मुँहे स पवित्तर आतिमा बहोत पहिले ही कहे रही, ओकर पूर होब जरूरी रहा।

¹⁷For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

¹⁷उ हम पचन मँ गना गवा रहा अउर इ सेवा मँ ओकर हाथ रहा।”

¹⁸Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

¹⁸(इ मनई जउन धन ओका ओकरे नीचपना क कामे बरे मिला रहा, उ धने स एक ठु खेत मोल लिहेस मुला उ पहिले तउ मूँड़े क बल भहरान अउर फिन बदन फाटि गवा अउर ओकर अँतड़ी बाहेर निकरि आइ।

¹⁹And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

¹⁹अउर सबइ यरूसलेम क बसइयन क एकर पता लग गवा। य़ह बरे ओनकइ भाखा मँ उ खेत क हक्लदमा कहा गवा जेकर अरथ अहइ “लहू क खेत।”)

²⁰For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

²⁰पतरस कहेस, “काहेकि भजन संहिता मँ इ लिखा बा, ‘ओकर घर उजरि जाइ अउर ओहमाँ रहइ क कउनो नाँ बचइ।’ भजन संहिता 69:25 अउर, ‘ओकर, मुखियई कउनो दूसर मनई लइ लेइ।’ भजन संहिता 109:8

²¹Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

²²Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

²³And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

²³यह बरे उ पचे दुइ मनई न नाउँ दिहेन। एक यूसुफ जेका बरसबा कहा जात रहा। (यूसतुस ऩाउँ स जाना जात रहा) अउर दूसर मत्तियाह।

²⁴And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

²⁴फिन उ पचे इ कहत भवा पराथना करइ लागेन, “पर्भू! तू सबहि क मनवा क जानत ह, हमका बतावा कि इ दुइनउँ मँ स तू केका चुन्या ह।

²⁵That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

²⁵जउऩ एक प्रेरित क तरह सेवा करइ बरे इ ओहदा क लइ लेई जेका आपन ठउर पर जाइ बरे ओहदा छोड़िके चला गवा रहा!”

²⁶And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

²⁶फिन उ पचे एकरे बरे पर्ची नाएन अउर पर्ची मत्तियाह क नाउँ क निकरी। इ तरह गियारह प्रेरितन? क दल मँ गना गवा।
