1Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
2Smiluj mi se, Bože, po milosrđu svome, po velikom smilovanju izbriši moje bezakonje!
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
3Operi me svega od moje krivice, od grijeha me mojeg očisti!
4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
4Bezakonje svoje priznajem, grijeh je moj svagda preda mnom.
5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
5Tebi, samom tebi ja sam zgriješio i učinio što je zlo pred tobom: pravedan ćeš biti kad progovoriš, bez prijekora kada presudiš.
6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
6Evo, grešan sam već rođen, u grijehu me zače majka moja.
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
7Evo, ti ljubiš srce iskreno, u dubini duše učiš me mudrosti.
8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
8Poškropi me izopom da se očistim, operi me, i bit ću bjelji od snijega!
9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
9Objavi mi radost i veselje, nek' se obraduju kosti satrvene!
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
10Odvrati lice od grijeha mojih, izbriši svu moju krivicu!
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
11Čisto srce stvori mi, Bože, i duh postojan obnovi u meni!
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
12Ne odbaci me od lica svojega i svoga svetog duha ne uzmi od mene!
13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
13Vrati mi radost svoga spasenja i učvrsti me duhom spremnim!
14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
14Učit ću bezakonike tvojim stazama, i grešnici tebi će se obraćati.
15O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
15Oslobodi me od krvi prolivene, Bože, Bože spasitelju moj! Nek' mi jezik kliče pravednosti tvojoj!
16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
16Otvori, Gospodine, usne moje, i usta će moja naviještati hvalu tvoju.
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
17Žrtve ti se ne mile, kad bih dao paljenicu, ti je ne bi primio.
18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
18Žrtva Bogu duh je raskajan, srce raskajano, ponizno, Bože, nećeš prezreti.
19Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
19U svojoj dobroti milostiv budi Sionu i opet sagradi jeruzalemske zidine!
20Tada će ti biti mile žrtve pravedne i tad će se prinosit' teoci na žrtveniku tvojemu.
