Acts

16

1Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
1 Cyrhaeddodd Derbe ac yna Lystra. Yno yr oedd disgybl o'r enw Timotheus, mab i wraig grediniol o Iddewes, a'i dad yn Roegwr.
2Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
2 Yr oedd gair da iddo gan y credinwyr yn Lystra ac Iconium.
3Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
3 Yr oedd Paul am i hwn fynd ymaith gydag ef, a chymerodd ef ac enwaedu arno, o achos yr Iddewon oedd yn y lleoedd hynny, oherwydd yr oeddent i gyd yn gwybod mai Groegwr oedd ei dad.
4And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
4 Fel yr oeddent yn teithio trwy'r dinasoedd, yr oeddent yn traddodi iddynt, er mwyn iddynt eu cadw, y gorchmynion a ddyfarnwyd gan yr apostolion a'r henuriaid oedd yn Jerwsalem.
5And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
5 Felly yr oedd yr eglwysi yn ymgadarnhau yn y ffydd, ac yn amlhau mewn rhif beunydd.
6Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
6 Aethant trwy ranbarth Phrygia a Galatia, ar l i'r Ysbryd Gln eu rhwystro rhag llefaru'r gair yn Asia.
7After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
7 Wedi iddynt ddod hyd at Mysia, yr oeddent yn ceisio mynd i Bithynia, ond ni chaniataodd ysbryd Iesu iddynt.
8And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
8 Ac aethant heibio i Mysia, a dod i lawr i Troas.
9And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
9 Ymddangosodd gweledigaeth i Paul un noson gu373?r o Facedonia yn sefyll ac yn ymbil arno a dweud, "Tyrd drosodd i Facedonia, a chymorth ni."
10And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
10 Pan gafodd ef y weledigaeth, rhoesom gynnig ar fynd i Facedonia ar ein hunion, gan gasglu mai Duw oedd wedi ein galw i gyhoeddi'r newydd da iddynt hwy.
11Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
11 Ac wedi hwylio o Troas, aethom ar union hynt i Samothrace, a thrannoeth i Neapolis,
12And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
12 ac oddi yno i Philipi; dinas yw hon yn rhanbarth gyntaf Macedonia, ac y mae'n drefedigaeth Rufeinig. Buom yn treulio rhai dyddiau yn y ddinas hon.
13And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
13 Ar y dydd Saboth aethom y tu allan i'r porth at lan afon, gan dybio fod yno le gweddi. Wedi eistedd, dechreusom lefaru wrth y gwragedd oedd wedi dod ynghyd.
14And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
14 Ac yn gwrando yr oedd gwraig o'r enw Lydia, un oedd yn gwerthu porffor, o ddinas Thyatira, ac un oedd yn addoli Duw. Agorodd yr Arglwydd ei chalon hi i ddal ar y pethau yr oedd Paul yn eu dweud.
15And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
15 Fe'i bedyddiwyd hi a'i theulu, ac yna deisyfodd arnom, gan ddweud, "Os ydych yn barnu fy mod yn credu yn yr Arglwydd, dewch i mewn ac arhoswch yn fy nhu375?." A mynnodd ein cael yno.
16And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
16 Rhyw dro pan oeddem ar ein ffordd i'r lle gweddi, daeth rhyw gaethferch a chanddi ysbryd dewiniaeth i'n cyfarfod, un oedd yn dwyn elw mawr i'w meistri trwy ddweud ffortiwn.
17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
17 Dilynodd hon Paul a ninnau, a gweiddi: "Gweision y Duw Goruchaf yw'r dynion hyn, ac y maent yn cyhoeddi i chwi ffordd iachawdwriaeth."
18And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
18 Gwnaeth hyn am ddyddiau lawer. Blinodd Paul arni, a throes ar yr ysbryd a dweud, "'Rwy'n gorchymyn i ti, yn enw Iesu Grist, ddod allan ohoni." Ac allan y daeth, y munud hwnnw.
19And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
19 Pan welodd ei meistri hi fod eu gobaith am elw wedi diflannu, daliasant Paul a Silas, a'u llusgo i'r farchnadfa o flaen yr awdurdodau,
20And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
20 ac wedi dod hwy gerbron yr ynadon, meddent, "Y mae'r dynion yma'n cythryblu ein dinas ni; Iddewon ydynt,
21And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
21 ac y maent yn cyhoeddi defodau nad yw gyfreithlon i ni, sy'n Rhufeinwyr, eu derbyn na'u harfer."
22And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
22 Yna ymunodd y dyrfa yn yr ymosod arnynt. Rhwygodd yr ynadon y dillad oddi amdanynt, a gorchymyn eu curo ffyn.
23And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
23 Ac wedi rhoi curfa dost iddynt bwriasant hwy i garchar, gan rybuddio ceidwad y carchar i'w cadw yn ddiogel.
24Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
24 Gan iddo gael y fath rybudd, bwriodd yntau hwy i'r carchar mewnol, a rhwymo'u traed yn y cyffion.
25And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
25 Tua hanner nos, yr oedd Paul a Silas yn gweddo ac yn canu mawl i Dduw, a'r carcharorion yn gwrando arnynt.
26And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
26 Ac yn sydyn bu daeargryn mawr, nes siglo seiliau'r carchar. Agorwyd yr holl ddrysau ar unwaith, a datodwyd rhwymau pawb.
27And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
27 Deffrdd ceidwad y carchar, a phan welodd ddrysau'r carchar yn agored, tynnodd ei gleddyf ac yr oedd ar fin ei ladd ei hun, gan dybio fod ei garcharorion wedi dianc.
28But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
28 Ond gwaeddodd Paul yn uchel, "Paid gwneud dim niwed i ti dy hun; yr ydym yma i gyd."
29Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
29 Galwodd ef am oleuadau, a rhuthrodd i mewn; daeth cryndod arno, a syrthiodd o flaen Paul a Silas.
30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
30 Yna daeth hwy allan a dweud, "Foneddigion, beth sy raid imi ei wneud i gael fy achub?"
31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
31 Dywedasant hwythau, "Cred yn yr Arglwydd Iesu, ac fe gei dy achub, ti a'th deulu."
32And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
32 A thraethasant air yr Arglwydd wrtho ef ac wrth bawb oedd yn ei du375?.
33And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
33 Er ei bod yn hwyr y nos, aeth ef hwy a golchi eu briwiau; ac yn union wedyn fe'i bedyddiwyd ef a phawb o'i deulu.
34And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
34 Yna, wedi dod hwy i'w du375?, gosododd bryd o fwyd o'u blaen, a gorfoleddodd gyda'i holl deulu am ei fod wedi credu yn Nuw.
35And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.
35 Pan ddaeth yn ddydd, anfonodd yr ynadon y rhingylliaid 'r neges: "Gollwng y dynion hynny yn rhydd."
36And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
36 Adroddodd ceidwad y carchar y neges hon wrth Paul: "Y mae'r ynadon wedi anfon gair i'ch gollwng yn rhydd. Felly, dewch allan yn awr, ac ewch mewn tangnefedd."
37But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
37 Ond atebodd Paul hwy, "Cyn ein bwrw ni i garchar, fflangellasant ni ar goedd, heb farnu ein hachos, er ein bod yn ddinasyddion Rhufain. A ydynt yn awr i gael ein bwrw ni allan yn ddirgel? Nac ydynt, yn wir! Gadewch iddynt ddod eu hunain a'n tywys ni allan."
38And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.
38 Adroddodd y rhingylliaid y neges hon wrth yr ynadon, a chawsant hwy fraw pan glywsant mai Rhufeinwyr oedd Paul a Silas.
39And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.
39 Aethant i ymddiheuro iddynt, ac wedi eu tywys hwy allan, gofynasant iddynt fynd i ffwrdd o'r ddinas.
40And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
40 Wedi dod allan o'r carchar, aethant i du375? Lydia, a gwelsant y credinwyr, a'u calonogi. Yna aethant ymaith.
