1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
1Veljet, jos joku tavataan tekemästä väärin, on teidän, joita Henki ohjaa, lempeästi ojennettava häntä. Olkaa kuitenkin varuillanne, ettette itse joudu kiusaukseen.
2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
2Kantakaa toistenne taakkoja, niin te toteutatte Kristuksen lain.
3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
3Joka luulee olevansa jotakin, vaikka ei ole mitään, pettää itseään.
4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
4Kukin tutkikoon vain omia tekojaan. Silloin hän voi ylpeillä vain siitä, mitä hän itse on, vertaamatta itseään toiseen.
5For every man shall bear his own burden.
5Jokaisen on kannettava oma kuormansa.
6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
6Se, jolle Jumalan sanaa opetetaan, antakoon opettajalleen kaikkea hyvää.
7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
7Älkää pettäkö itseänne! Jumala ei salli itseään pilkattavan. Mitä ihminen kylvää, sitä hän myös niittää.
8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
8Joka kylvää siemenen itsekkyyden peltoon, korjaa siitä satona tuhon, mutta se, joka kylvää Hengen peltoon, korjaa siitä satona ikuisen elämän.
9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
9Meidän ei pidä väsyä tekemään hyvää, sillä jos emme hellitä, saamme aikanaan korjata sadon.
10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
10Kun meillä vielä on aikaa, meidän on siis tehtävä hyvää kaikille, mutta varsinkin niille, joita usko yhdistää meihin.
11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
11Katsokaa, miten suurin kirjaimin minä nyt omakätisesti kirjoitan teille!
12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
12Ne, jotka tahtovat saavuttaa arvonantoa ihmisten keskuudessa, yrittävät pakottaa teidät ympärileikkaukseen vain siksi, ettei heitä vainottaisi Kristuksen ristin tähden.
13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
13Eiväthän ympärileikkauksen kannattajat itsekään noudata lakia, vaan he tahtovat saada teidät ympärileikatuiksi voidakseen kerskailla siitä, mitä teille on tehty.
14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
14Minä taas en ikinä tahdo kerskailla mistään muusta kuin meidän Herramme Jeesuksen Kristuksen rististä. Siinä on maailma minulle ristiinnaulittu ja minä maailmalle.
15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
15On samantekevää, onko ihminen ympärileikattu vai ympärileikkaamaton. Tärkeää on, että hänet on luotu uudeksi.
16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
16Tulkoon rauha ja laupeus niiden osaksi, jotka vaeltavat tämän ohjeen mukaan, koko Jumalan Israelin osaksi!
17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
17Älköön kukaan enää tämän jälkeen tuottako minulle vaivaa. Onhan minulla Jeesuksen arvet ruumiissani.
