¹The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

¹Asafin psalmi. Jumala, Herra Jumala, on puhunut ja kutsunut koolle koko maanpiirin, idän ääriltä kaukaiseen länteen saakka.

²Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

²Siionista, täydellisen kauniista, Jumala ilmestyy kirkkaudessaan.

³Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

³Meidän Jumalamme tulee, hän ei enää vaikene. Tuhon tuli kulkee hänen edellään, myrsky raivoaa hänen ympärillään.

⁴He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

⁴Hän kutsuu todistajikseen taivaan ja maan, hän vaatii kansansa tilille.

⁵Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

⁵"Kootkaa luokseni kaikki minun palvelijani, jotka ovat uhrein tehneet kanssani liiton."

⁶And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

⁶Taivaat julistavat Jumalan vanhurskautta. Hän on oikeuden Jumala. (sela)

⁷Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

⁷"Kuule, kansani, mitä sinulle puhun, kuule, Israel, mitä sinulta liitossani vaadin! Minä olen Herra, sinun Jumalasi.

⁸I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

⁸En nuhtele sinua uhriesi tähden, sillä polttouhrisi ovat aina edessäni.

⁹I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

⁹En vaadi härkää talostasi, en vuohia tarhoistasi,

¹⁰For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

¹⁰sillä minun ovat kaikki metsän eläimet, kaikki eläimet tuhansilla vuorilla.

¹¹I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

¹¹Minun ovat kaikki vuorten linnut ja laaksojen moninaiset eläimet.

¹²If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

¹²Jos minun olisi nälkä, en sanoisi sitä sinulle, sillä minun on koko maanpiiri, kaikki mitä on.

¹³Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

¹³Söisinkö härkien lihaa, joisinko vuohien verta?

¹⁴Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

¹⁴Anna Jumalalle uhriksi kiitos, täytä lupauksesi Korkeimmalle.

¹⁵And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

¹⁵Huuda minua avuksi hädän päivänä! Minä pelastan sinut, ja sinä kunnioitat minua."

¹⁶But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

¹⁶Jumalattomalle Jumala sanoo: "Miten sinä voit kertoa käskyistäni, kuinka uskallat puhua minun liitostani,

¹⁷Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

¹⁷sinä, joka et ota vastaan ojennusta vaan heität käskyni selkäsi taakse?

¹⁸When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

¹⁸Jos näet varkaan, otat hänet ystäväksi, pidät yhtä avionrikkojien kanssa.

¹⁹Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

¹⁹Sinä annat suusi puhua pahaa, kielesi punoa petosta.

²⁰Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

²⁰Sinä istut ja puhut pahaa veljestäsi, panettelet oman äitisi poikaa.

²¹These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

²¹Pysyisinkö hiljaa, kun sinä teet noin? Sinä luulet, että minä olen sinun kaltaisesi. Mutta minä panen sinut vastaamaan teoistasi, asetan sinut tuomiolle.

²²Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

²²Ymmärtäkää tämä, te jotka unohdatte Jumalan! Muuten minä raatelen teidät, eikä pelastajaa ole.

²³Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

²³Joka uhraa kiitosta, se kunnioittaa minua. Joka pysyy oikealla tiellä, saa nähdä, kuinka Jumala pelastaa."
