¹Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.

¹Was aber die Sammlung für die Heiligen anbelangt, so handelt auch ihr so, wie ich es für die Gemeinden in Galatien angeordnet habe.

²Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

²An jedem ersten Wochentag lege ein jeder unter euch etwas beiseite und sammle, je nachdem es ihm wohl geht; damit nicht erst dann, wenn ich komme, die Sammlungen gemacht werden müssen.

³And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

³Wenn ich aber angekommen bin, will ich die, welche ihr als geeignet erachtet, mit Briefen absenden, damit sie eure Liebesgabe nach Jerusalem überbringen.

⁴And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

⁴Wenn es aber der Mühe wert ist, daß auch ich hinreise, sollen sie mit mir reisen.

⁵Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia.

⁵Ich werde aber zu euch kommen, wenn ich Mazedonien durchzogen habe, denn durch Mazedonien werde ich ziehen.

⁶And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.

⁶Bei euch aber werde ich vielleicht verweilen oder auch überwintern, damit ihr mich geleitet, wohin ich reise.

⁷For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

⁷Denn ich will euch jetzt nicht nur im Vorbeigehen sehen, sondern ich hoffe, einige Zeit bei euch zu bleiben, wenn der Herr es zuläßt.

⁸But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.

⁸Ich werde aber zu Ephesus bleiben bis Pfingsten.

⁹For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

⁹Denn eine Tür hat sich mir aufgetan, weit und vielversprechend; auch der Widersacher sind viele.

¹⁰Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

¹⁰Wenn aber Timotheus kommt, so sehet zu, daß er ohne Furcht bei euch sei, denn er treibt des Herrn Werk, wie ich auch.

¹¹Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.

¹¹Darum soll ihn niemand geringschätzen! Geleitet ihn vielmehr in Frieden, damit er zu mir komme; denn ich erwarte ihn mit den Brüdern.

¹²As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.

¹²Was aber den Bruder Apollos betrifft, so habe ich ihn vielfach ermahnt, mit den Brüdern zu euch zu kommen; doch er war durchaus nicht willens, jetzt zu kommen. Er wird aber kommen, wenn die Zeit es ihm erlaubt.

¹³Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

¹³Wachet, stehet fest im Glauben, seid männlich, seid stark!

¹⁴Let all your things be done with charity.

¹⁴Möge alles bei euch in Liebe geschehen!

¹⁵I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

¹⁵Ich ermahne euch aber, ihr Brüder: Ihr kennet das Haus des Stephanas, daß es die Erstlingsfrucht von Achaja ist, und daß sie sich dem Dienste der Heiligen gewidmet haben;

¹⁶That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

¹⁶seid auch ihr solchen untertan und einem jeden, der mitwirkt und arbeitet.

¹⁷I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.

¹⁷Ich freue mich aber über die Ankunft des Stephanas und Fortunatus und Achaikus; denn diese haben mir ersetzt, daß ich euer ermangeln muß;

¹⁸For they have refreshed my spirit and your's: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

¹⁸denn sie haben meinen Geist und den eurigen erquickt. Darum erkennet solche Männer an!

¹⁹The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

¹⁹Es grüßen euch die Gemeinden in Asien. Es grüßen euch vielmals im Herrn Aquila und Priscilla samt der Gemeinde in ihrem Hause.

²⁰All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.

²⁰Es grüßen euch die Brüder alle. Grüßet euch untereinander mit dem heiligen Kuß!

²¹The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand.

²¹Das ist mein, des Paulus, handschriftlicher Gruß.

²²If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

²²So jemand den Herrn Jesus Christus nicht liebt, der sei verflucht! Maranatha!

²³The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²³Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus Christus sei mit euch!
