¹Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

¹Petrus aber und Johannes gingen in den Tempel hinauf um die neunte Stunde, da man zu beten pflegte.

²And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

²Und es wurde ein Mann herbeigebracht, der lahm war von Mutterleib an, den man täglich an die Pforte des Tempels, welche man «die Schöne» nennt, hinsetzte, damit er von denen, die in den Tempel hineingingen, ein Almosen erbitte.

³Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

³Als dieser Petrus und Johannes sah, die in den Tempel hineingehen wollten, bat er sie um ein Almosen.

⁴And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

⁴Petrus aber samt Johannes blickte ihn an und sprach: Sieh uns an!

⁵And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

⁵Er aber achtete auf sie in der Erwartung, etwas von ihnen zu empfangen.

⁶Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

⁶Da sprach Petrus: Silber und Gold habe ich nicht; was ich aber habe, das gebe ich dir: Im Namen Jesu Christi von Nazareth, stehe auf und wandle!

⁷And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

⁷Und er ergriff ihn bei der rechten Hand und richtete ihn auf. Und alsbald wurden seine Füße und seine Knöchel fest,

⁸And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

⁸und er sprang auf und konnte stehen, ging umher und trat mit ihnen in den Tempel, wandelte und sprang und lobte Gott.

⁹And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

⁹Und alles Volk sah, wie er umherging und Gott lobte.

¹⁰And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

¹⁰Und sie erkannten, daß er der war, der um des Almosens willen an der «schönen» Pforte des Tempels gesessen hatte; und sie wurden mit Verwunderung und Erstaunen erfüllt über dem, was ihm widerfahren war.

¹¹And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

¹¹Da er sich aber zu Petrus und Johannes hielt, lief alles Volk voll Erstaunen bei ihnen zusammen in der sogenannten Halle Salomos.

¹²And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

¹²Als Petrus das sah, antwortete er dem Volke: Ihr israelitischen Männer, was verwundert ihr euch darüber, oder was blickt ihr auf uns, als hätten wir durch eigene Kraft oder Frömmigkeit bewirkt, daß dieser wandelt?

¹³The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

¹³Der Gott Abrahams und Isaaks und Jakobs, der Gott unsrer Väter, hat seinen Sohn Jesus verherrlicht, den ihr überliefert und vor Pilatus verleugnet habt, als dieser ihn freisprechen wollte.

¹⁴But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

¹⁴Ihr aber habt den Heiligen und Gerechten verleugnet und verlangt, daß euch ein Mörder geschenkt werde,

¹⁵And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹⁵den Fürsten des Lebens aber habt ihr getötet; den hat Gott von den Toten auferweckt, dafür sind wir Zeugen.

¹⁶And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹⁶Und auf den Glauben an seinen Namen hin hat sein Name diesen Mann hier, den ihr sehet und kennet, gestärkt, und der durch ihn gewirkte Glaube hat ihm diese volle Gesundheit gegeben vor euch allen.

¹⁷And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

¹⁷Und nun, ihr Brüder, ich weiß, daß ihr in Unwissenheit gehandelt habt, wie auch eure Obersten;

¹⁸But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

¹⁸Gott aber hat das, was er durch den Mund aller seiner Propheten zuvor verkündigte, daß nämlich Christus leiden müsse, auf diese Weise erfüllt.

¹⁹Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

¹⁹So tut nun Buße und bekehret euch, daß eure Sünden ausgetilgt werden,

²⁰And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

²⁰damit Zeiten der Erquickung vom Angesicht des Herrn kommen und er den euch vorherbestimmten Christus Jesus sende,

²¹Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

²¹welchen der Himmel aufnehmen muß bis auf die Zeiten der Wiederherstellung alles dessen, wovon Gott durch den Mund seiner heiligen Propheten von alters her geredet hat.

²²For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

²²Denn Mose hat zu den Vätern gesagt: «Einen Propheten wird euch der Herr euer Gott erwecken aus euren Brüdern, gleichwie mich; auf den sollt ihr hören in allem, was er zu euch reden wird.

²³And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

²³Und es wird geschehen: jede Seele, welche nicht auf diesen Propheten hören wird, soll aus dem Volk vertilgt werden.»

²⁴Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

²⁴Und alle Propheten, von Samuel an und den folgenden, soviele ihrer geredet haben, die haben auch diese Tage angekündigt.

²⁵Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

²⁵Ihr seid die Söhne der Propheten und des Bundes, den Gott mit unsern Vätern schloß, indem er zu Abraham sprach: «Und in deinem Samen sollen alle Geschlechter der Erde gesegnet werden.»

²⁶Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

²⁶Euch zuerst hat Gott, indem er seinen Sohn Jesus auferweckte, ihn gesandt, um euch zu segnen, durch Bekehrung eines jeden unter euch von seiner Bosheit.
