¹Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

¹Schickt ein Lamm dem Beherrscher des Landes von der Felsenburg aus durch die Wüste nach dem Berge der Tochter Zion!

²For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.

²Und wie ein aus dem Neste verscheuchter, umherirrender Vogel sollen die Töchter Moabs an den Furten des Arnon sein.

³Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.

³Gib Rat, lege Fürbitte ein, mach deinen Schatten gleich der dunklen Nacht am hellen Mittag, verbirg die Verjagten, verrate die Flüchtlinge nicht!

⁴Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

⁴Laß die Flüchtlinge Moabs bei dir einkehren, sei ihnen ein Schirm vor dem Verderber! Denn dem Bedrücker ist ein Ziel gesetzt, das Zerstören wird aufhören, die Gewalttätigen werden von der Erde weggefegt.

⁵And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

⁵Und ein Thron wird in Gnaden errichtet; und wird auf ihm sitzen in Wahrheit, in der Hütte Davids, ein Richter, welcher das Recht erforscht und die Gerechtigkeit fördert.

⁶We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

⁶Wir haben gehört von Moabs Hochmut, der sehr groß ist, von seiner Hoffart, seinem Stolz und Übermut; sein Prahlen entspricht nicht der Wahrheit.

⁷Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.

⁷Darum werden die Moabiter um Moab heulen, alles wird heulen; um die Traubenkuchen von Kir-Hareset werdet ihr seufzen: Ach, sie sind dahin!

⁸For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.

⁸Denn die Felder zu Hesbon sind verwüstet, der Weinstock zu Sibma, dessen edles Gewächs den Adel der Heiden bezwang; sie reichten bis Jaeser, verirrten sich bis in die Wüste, breiteten ihre Schosse aus, überschritten das Meer.

⁹Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.

⁹Darum weine ich mit den Weinenden von Jaeser um den Weinstock von Sibma, ich benetze dich, Hesbon und Eleale, mit meinen Tränen; denn über deinen Herbst und in deine Weinlese ist ein Jauchzen der Feinde gefallen!

¹⁰And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

¹⁰Freude und Frohlocken sind aus dem Baumgarten verschwunden, und in den Weinbergen jubelt und jauchzt man nicht; niemand tritt Wein in den Keltern, das Kelterlied habe ich zum Schweigen gebracht.

¹¹Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.

¹¹Darum klagt mein Innerstes um Moab, gleich einer Laute, und mein Herz um Kir-Heres.

¹²And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

¹²Und es wird geschehen, wenn Moab erscheint, wenn es sich auf die Höhe bemüht und in sein Heiligtum geht, um zu beten, so wird es nichts ausrichten!

¹³This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.

¹³Das ist das Wort, welches der HERR ehemals über Moab gesprochen hat;

¹⁴But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.

¹⁴jetzt aber spricht der HERR: In drei Jahren, wie sie der Tagelöhner zählt, wird die große Menge, deren Moab sich rühmt, gering werden, und es bleibt nur ein kleiner Rest übrig, ohne alle Macht.
