¹The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

¹Am ersten Tage aber der Woche kommt Maria Magdalena früh, als es noch finster war, zur Gruft und sieht den Stein von der Gruft hinweggenommen.

²Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the LORD out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

²Da läuft sie und kommt zu Simon Petrus und zu dem andern Jünger, den Jesus lieb hatte, und spricht zu ihnen: Sie haben den Herrn aus der Gruft genommen, und wir wissen nicht, wo sie ihn hingelegt haben!

³Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.

³Nun gingen Petrus und der andere Jünger hinaus und begaben sich zu der Gruft.

⁴So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.

⁴Die beiden liefen miteinander, und der andere Jünger lief voraus, schneller als Petrus, und kam zuerst zur Gruft,

⁵And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

⁵bückte sich hinein und sieht die leinenen Tücher daliegen, ging jedoch nicht hinein.

⁶Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

⁶Da kommt Simon Petrus, der ihm folgte, und geht in die Gruft hinein und sieht die Tücher daliegen

⁷And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

⁷und das Schweißtuch, das um sein Haupt gebunden war, nicht bei den Tüchern liegen, sondern für sich zusammengewickelt an einem besondern Ort.

⁸Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

⁸Darauf ging auch der andere Jünger hinein, der zuerst zur Gruft gekommen war, und sah und glaubte.

⁹For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

⁹Denn sie verstanden die Schrift noch nicht, daß er von den Toten auferstehen müsse.

¹⁰Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

¹⁰Nun gingen die Jünger wieder heim.

¹¹But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,

¹¹Maria aber stand draußen vor der Gruft und weinte. Wie sie nun weinte, bückte sie sich in die Gruft

¹²And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

¹²und sieht zwei Engel in weißen Kleidern sitzen, den einen zu den Häupten, den andern zu den Füßen, wo der Leib Jesu gelegen hatte.

¹³And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my LORD, and I know not where they have laid him.

¹³Und diese sprechen zu ihr: Weib, was weinst du? Sie spricht zu ihnen: Sie haben meinen Herrn weggenommen, und ich weiß nicht, wo sie ihn hingelegt haben!

¹⁴And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

¹⁴Und als sie das gesagt, wendet sie sich um und sieht Jesus dastehen und weiß nicht, daß es Jesus ist.

¹⁵Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

¹⁵Jesus spricht zu ihr: Weib, was weinst du? Wen suchst du? Sie meint, es sei der Gärtner, und spricht zu ihm: Herr, hast du ihn weggetragen, so sage mir, wo du ihn hingelegt hast, so will ich ihn holen!

¹⁶Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

¹⁶Jesus spricht zu ihr: Maria! Da wendet sie sich um und spricht zu ihm: Rabbuni! (das heißt: Meister!)

¹⁷Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

¹⁷Jesus spricht zu ihr: Rühre mich nicht an, denn ich bin noch nicht aufgefahren zu meinem Vater. Gehe aber zu meinen Brüdern und sage ihnen: Ich fahre auf zu meinem Vater und eurem Vater, zu meinem Gott und eurem Gott.

¹⁸Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the LORD, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

¹⁸Da kommt Maria Magdalena und verkündigt den Jüngern, daß sie den Herrn gesehen und daß er solches zu ihr gesprochen habe.

¹⁹Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

¹⁹Als es nun an jenem ersten Wochentag Abend geworden war und die Türen verschlossen waren an dem Ort, wo sich die Jünger versammelt hatten, aus Furcht vor den Juden, kam Jesus und trat mitten unter sie und spricht zu ihnen: Friede sei mit euch!

²⁰And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.

²⁰Und als er das gesagt hatte, zeigte er ihnen seine Hände und seine Seite. Da wurden die Jünger froh, als sie den Herrn sahen.

²¹Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

²¹Da sprach Jesus wiederum zu ihnen: Friede sei mit euch! Gleichwie mich der Vater gesandt hat, so sende ich euch.

²²And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

²²Und nachdem er das gesagt, hauchte er sie an und sprach zu ihnen: Empfanget heiligen Geist!

²³Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

²³Welchen ihr die Sünden vergebet, denen sind sie vergeben; welchen ihr sie behaltet, denen sind sie behalten.

²⁴But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

²⁴Thomas aber, einer von den Zwölfen, der Zwilling genannt wird, war nicht bei ihnen, als Jesus kam.

²⁵The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

²⁵Da sagten ihm die andern Jünger: Wir haben den Herrn gesehen! Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ich nicht an seinen Händen das Nägelmal sehe und lege meinen Finger in das Nägelmal und lege meine Hand in seine Seite, so glaube ich es nicht!

²⁶And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

²⁶Und nach acht Tagen waren seine Jünger wiederum dort und Thomas bei ihnen. Da kommt Jesus, als die Türen verschlossen waren, und tritt mitten unter sie und spricht: Friede sei mit euch!

²⁷Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

²⁷Dann spricht er zu Thomas: Reiche deinen Finger her und siehe meine Hände, und reiche deine Hand her und lege sie in meine Seite, und sei nicht ungläubig, sondern gläubig!

²⁸And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

²⁸Thomas antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr und mein Gott!

²⁹Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

²⁹Jesus spricht zu ihm: Weil du mich gesehen hast, Thomas, so glaubst du; selig sind, die nicht sehen und doch glauben.

³⁰And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

³⁰Noch viele andere Zeichen tat Jesus vor seinen Jüngern, die in diesem Buche nicht geschrieben sind.

³¹But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

³¹Diese aber sind geschrieben, damit ihr glaubet, daß Jesus der Christus, der Sohn Gottes ist, und daß ihr durch den Glauben Leben habet in seinem Namen
