¹And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

¹Und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel versammelte sich zu Silo und schlug daselbst die Stiftshütte auf, und das Land war ihnen unterworfen.

²And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.

²Es waren aber noch sieben Stämme der Kinder Israel, denen sie ihr Erbe nicht ausgeteilt hatten.

³And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

³Und Josua sprach zu Kindern Israel: Wie lange seid ihr so lässig und gehet nicht hin, das Land einzunehmen, das euch der HERR, eurer Väter Gott, gegeben hat?

⁴Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

⁴Nehmt aus jedem Stamme drei Männer, so will ich sie aussenden; und sie sollen sich aufmachen und das Land durchziehen und es nach Bedürfnis ihrer Erbteile aufzeichnen und alsdann wieder zu mir kommen.

⁵And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.

⁵Sie sollen das Land in sieben Teile zerlegen. Juda soll in seinem Gebiet bleiben gegen Mittag, und das Haus Joseph soll in seinem Gebiete bleiben gegen Mitternacht.

⁶Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.

⁶Ihr aber fertiget eine Aufzeichnung des Landes an in sieben Teilen und bringet sie zu mir hierher, so will ich euch das Los werfen hier vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott.

⁷But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.

⁷Denn die Leviten haben keinen Teil unter euch, sondern das Priestertum des HERRN ist ihr Erbteil. So haben Gad und Ruben und der halbe Stamm Manasse ihr Erbteil jenseits des Jordan, gegen Morgen, empfangen, welchen ihnen Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gegeben hat.

⁸And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh.

⁸Da machten sich die Männer auf und gingen hin. Und Josua gebot ihnen, als sie hingingen, um das Land aufzuzeichnen, und sprach: Gehet hin und durchwandelt das Land und zeichnet es auf und kommt wieder zu mir, so will ich euch hier, zu Silo, das Los werfen vor dem HERRN!

⁹And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.

⁹Also gingen diese Männer hin und durchzogen das Land und zeichneten es auf, nach den Städten, in sieben Teilen, in einer Buchrolle und kamen zu Josua in das Lager gen Silo.

¹⁰And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.

¹⁰Da warf ihnen Josua das Los zu Silo, vor dem HERRN, und teilte daselbst das Land aus unter die Kinder Israel, einem jeden sein Teil.

¹¹And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

¹¹Und das Los fiel für den Stamm der Kinder Benjamin nach ihren Geschlechtern und das für sie erloste Gebiet kam zwischen die Kinder Juda und die Kinder Joseph zu liegen.

¹²And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.

¹²Und ihre nördliche Grenze begann am Jordan und zieht sich über den Bergrücken nördlich von Jericho und über das Gebirge abendwärts und endigt gegen die Wüste von Beth-Aven

¹³And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron.

¹³und geht von dort hinüber nach Lus, über den Bergrücken südlich von Lus, das ist Bethel; und kommt hinab gen Atarot-Addar an den Berg, der gegen Mittag liegt, an dem untern Beth-Horon.

¹⁴And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.

¹⁴Darnach zieht sie sich weiter und wendet sich um nach der Abendseite, südlich von dem Berge, der mittagwärts vor Beth-Horon liegt, und endigt bei Kirjat-Baal, das ist Kirjat-Jearim, die Stadt der Kinder Juda. Das ist die westliche Seite.

¹⁵And the south quarter was from the end of Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:

¹⁵Die Südseite aber beginnt am Ende von Kirjat-Jearim; und die Grenze setzt sich fort gegen Abend bis zum Wasserbrunnen Nephtoach

¹⁶And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel,

¹⁶und geht hinab bis an das Ende des Berges, der vor dem Tal des Sohnes Hinnom ist, welches im Tal Rephaim gegen Mitternacht liegt, und zieht sich durch das Tal Hinnom hinab an der Südseite der Jebusiter und kommt hinab zum Brunnen Rogel;

¹⁷And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,

¹⁷und zieht sich gegen Mitternacht und läuft gen En-Semes und weiter gen Gelilot, das der Anhöhe Adummim gegenüberliegt, und kommt herab zum Stein Bohans, des Sohnes Rubens,

¹⁸And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:

¹⁸und geht hinüber zu dem Bergrücken gegenüber der nördlichen Ebene und kommt hinab auf die Ebene

¹⁹And the border passed along to the side of Bethhoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast.

¹⁹und geht an die Seite von Beth-Hogla, das gegen Mitternacht liegt, und die Grenze endigt an der nördlichen Zunge des Salzmeeres, am südlichen Ende des Jordan; das ist die südliche Grenze.

²⁰And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.

²⁰Aber der Jordan begrenzt es auf der Seite gegen Morgen. Das ist das Erbteil der Kinder Benjamin und seine Grenzen, wie sie ihre Geschlechter ringsum einschließen.

²¹Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz,

²¹Die Städte aber des Stammes der Kinder Benjamin nach ihren Geschlechtern sind diese: Jericho,

²²And Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,

²²Beth-Hogla, Emek-Keziz, Beth-Araba,

²³And Avim, and Pharah, and Ophrah,

²³Zemaraim, Bethel, Avvim, Parah,

²⁴And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:

²⁴Ophra, Kephar-Ammoni, Ophni und Geba. Das sind zwölf Städte und ihre Dörfer.

²⁵Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

²⁵Gibeon, Rama, Beerot, Mizpe,

²⁶And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

²⁶Kephira, Moza, Reckem, Jirpeel, Thareala,

²⁷And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

²⁷Zela, Eleph und Jebusi, das ist Jerusalem, Gibeat und Kirjat.

²⁸And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.

²⁸Das sind vierzehn Städte und ihre Dörfer. Das ist das Erbteil der Kinder Benjamin nach ihren Geschlechtern.
