1And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
1Und alsbald in der Frühe faßten die Hohenpriester mit den Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten und dem ganzen Hohen Rat einen Beschluß und führten Jesus gebunden hin und überantworteten ihn dem Pilatus.
2And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it.
2Und Pilatus fragte ihn: Bist du der König der Juden? Er antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Du sagst es!
3And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
3Und die Hohenpriester brachten viele Anklagen wider ihn vor.
4And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.
4Pilatus aber fragte ihn abermal und sprach: Antwortest du nichts? Siehe, wie vieles sie gegen dich vorbringen!
5But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.
5Jesus aber antwortete nichts mehr, so daß sich Pilatus verwunderte.
6Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.
6Aber auf das Fest pflegte er ihnen einen Gefangenen loszugeben, welchen sie begehrten.
7And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
7Es lag aber ein gewisser Barabbas gefangen samt den Aufrührern, die im Aufruhr einen Mord begangen hatten.
8And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.
8Und das Volk zog hinauf und fing an zu verlangen, daß er täte, wie er ihnen allezeit getan.
9But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
9Pilatus aber antwortete ihnen und sprach: Wollt ihr, daß ich euch den König der Juden freigebe?
10For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
10Denn er wußte, daß die Hohenpriester ihn aus Neid überantwortet hatten.
11But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
11Aber die Hohenpriester wiegelten das Volk auf, daß er ihnen lieber den Barabbas losgeben solle.
12And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
12Pilatus antwortete und sprach wiederum zu ihnen: Was wollt ihr nun, daß ich mit dem tue, welchen ihr König der Juden nennet?
13And they cried out again, Crucify him.
13Sie aber schrieen wiederum: Kreuzige ihn!
14Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.
14Pilatus sprach zu ihnen: Was hat er denn Böses getan? Sie aber schrieen noch viel mehr: Kreuzige ihn!
15And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
15Da nun Pilatus das Volk befriedigen wollte, gab er ihnen den Barabbas los und überantwortete Jesus, nachdem er ihn hatte geißeln lassen, daß er gekreuzigt werde.
16And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.
16Die Kriegsknechte aber führten ihn hinein in den Hof, das ist das Amthaus, und riefen die ganze Rotte zusammen,
17And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
17legten ihm einen Purpur um, flochten eine Dornenkrone und setzten sie ihm auf.
18And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
18Und sie fingen an, ihn zu begrüßen: Sei gegrüßt, König der Juden!
19And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
19Und schlugen sein Haupt mit einem Rohr, spieen ihn an, beugten die Knie und fielen vor ihm nieder.
20And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.
20Und nachdem sie ihn verspottet hatten, zogen sie ihm den Purpur aus und legten ihm seine eigenen Kleider an und führten ihn hinaus, um ihn zu kreuzigen.
21And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.
21Und sie zwangen einen Vorübergehenden, der vom Felde kam, Simon von Kyrene, den Vater von Alexander und Rufus, ihm das Kreuz zu tragen.
22And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
22Und sie brachten ihn auf den Platz Golgatha (das heißt übersetzt Schädelstätte).
23And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
23Und sie gaben ihm Myrrhenwein zu trinken, aber er nahm ihn nicht.
24And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
24Und nachdem sie ihn gekreuzigt hatten, teilten sie seine Kleider und warfen das Los darüber, was ein jeder bekommen sollte.
25And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
25Es war aber die dritte Stunde, als sie ihn kreuzigten.
26And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
26Und die Überschrift, welche seine Schuld anzeigte, lautete also: Der König der Juden.
27And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
27Und mit ihm kreuzigten sie zwei Räuber, einen zu seiner Rechten und einen zu seiner Linken.
28And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
28Da wurde die Schrift erfüllt, die da spricht: «Und er ist unter die Übeltäter gerechnet worden.»
29And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
29Und die Vorübergehenden lästerten ihn, schüttelten die Köpfe und sprachen:
30Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
30Ha, der du den Tempel zerstörst und in drei Tagen aufbaust, hilf dir selbst und steige vom Kreuz herab!
31Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.
31Gleicherweise spotteten auch die Hohenpriester untereinander samt den Schriftgelehrten und sprachen: Andern hat er geholfen, sich selbst kann er nicht helfen.
32Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
32Der Christus, der König Israels, steige nun vom Kreuze herab, auf daß wir sehen und glauben! Auch die, welche mit ihm gekreuzigt waren, schmähten ihn.
33And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
33Als aber die sechste Stunde kam, brach eine Finsternis herein über das ganze Land bis zur neunten Stunde.
34And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
34Und um die neunte Stunde rief Jesus mit lauter Stimme: Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Das heißt übersetzt: Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?
35And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
35Und etliche der Umstehenden, die es hörten, sprachen: Siehe, er ruft den Elia!
36And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
36Einer aber lief und füllte einen Schwamm mit Essig, steckte ihn auf ein Rohr, tränkte ihn und sprach: Halt! laßt uns sehen, ob Elia kommt, um ihn herabzunehmen!
37And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
37Jesus aber stieß einen lauten Schrei aus und verschied.
38And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
38Und der Vorhang im Tempel riß entzwei, von obenan bis untenaus.
39And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
39Als aber der Hauptmann, der ihm gegenüberstand, sah, daß er auf solche Weise verschied, sprach er: Wahrhaftig, dieser Mensch war Gottes Sohn!
40There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
40Es sahen aber auch Frauen von ferne zu, unter ihnen auch Maria Magdalena und Maria, des jüngern Jakobus und Joses Mutter, und Salome,
41(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
41die ihm, als er in Galiläa war, nachgefolgt waren und ihm gedient hatten, auch viele andere, die mit ihm nach Jerusalem hinaufgezogen waren.
42And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
42Und da es schon Abend geworden (es war nämlich Rüsttag, das ist der Tag vor dem Sabbat),
43Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
43kam Joseph von Arimathia, ein angesehener Ratsherr, der auch selbst auf das Reich Gottes wartete; der wagte es, ging zu Pilatus hinein und bat um den Leib Jesu.
44And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
44Pilatus aber wunderte sich, daß er schon gestorben sein sollte, und rief den Hauptmann und fragte ihn, ob er schon lange gestorben sei.
45And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
45Und als er es von dem Hauptmann erfahren, schenkte er dem Joseph den Leichnam.
46And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.
46Und dieser kaufte Leinwand, nahm ihn herab, wickelte ihn in die Leinwand und legte ihn in eine Gruft, die in einen Felsen gehauen war, und wälzte einen Stein vor den Eingang der Gruft.
47And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
47Maria Magdalena aber und Maria, Joses' Mutter, sahen zu, wo er hingelegt wurde.
