⁵Die Pläne der Gerechten sind richtig; aber die Ratschläge der Gottlosen sind trügerisch.

⁶The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

⁶Die Worte der Gottlosen stiften Blutvergießen an; aber der Mund der Gerechten rettet sie.

⁷The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

⁷Umgestürzt werden die Gottlosen und sind nicht mehr; aber das Haus der Gerechten bleibt stehen!

⁸A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

⁸Nach dem Maße seiner Klugheit wird ein Mann gelobt; wer aber verkehrten Herzens ist, fällt der Verachtung anheim.

⁹He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

⁹Besser gering sein und sein eigener Knecht, als großtun und nichts zu essen haben!

¹⁰A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
