¹Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

²The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

²Der HERR baut Jerusalem, die Verjagten Israels wird er sammeln.

³He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

³Er heilt, die zerbrochenen Herzens sind, und lindert ihre Schmerzen;

⁴He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

⁴er zählt die Zahl der Sterne und nennt sie alle mit Namen.

⁵Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

⁵Groß ist unser Herr und reich an Macht; sein Verstand ist unermeßlich.

⁶The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

⁶Der HERR richtet die Gedemütigten wieder auf, er erniedrigt die Gottlosen bis zur Erde.

⁷Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

⁷Stimmt dem HERRN ein Danklied an, spielt unserm Gott auf der Harfe,

⁸Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

⁸der den Himmel mit Wolken bedeckt, der Regen bereitet für die Erde und auf den Bergen Gras wachsen läßt;

⁹He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

⁹der dem Vieh sein Futter gibt, den jungen Raben, die ihn anrufen!

¹⁰He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

¹⁰Er hat nicht Lust an der Stärke des Rosses, noch Gefallen an den Schenkeln des Mannes;

¹¹The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

¹¹der HERR hat Gefallen an denen, die ihn fürchten, die auf seine Gnade hoffen.

¹²Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

¹²Preise, Jerusalem, den HERRN; lobe, Zion, deinen Gott!

¹³For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

¹³Denn er hat die Riegel deiner Tore befestigt, deine Kinder gesegnet in deiner Mitte;

¹⁴He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

¹⁴er gibt deinen Grenzen Frieden und sättigt dich mit dem besten Weizen.

¹⁵He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

¹⁵Er sendet seine Rede auf Erden; gar schnell läuft sein Wort;

¹⁶He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

¹⁶er gibt Schnee wie Wolle, er streut Reif wie Asche;

¹⁷He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

¹⁷er wirft sein Eis wie Brocken; wer kann bestehen vor seinem Frost?

¹⁸He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

¹⁸Er sendet sein Wort, so zerschmelzen sie; er läßt seinen Wind wehen, so tauen sie auf.

¹⁹He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

¹⁹Er läßt Jakob sein Wort verkündigen, Israel seine Satzungen und Rechte.

²⁰He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

²⁰So hat er keinem Volk getan, noch läßt er sie wissen seine Rechte. Hallelujah!
