¹And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

¹TUHAN berkata kepada Musa,

²Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

²"Berikanlah perintah ini kepada orang Israel: Semua orang yang menderita penyakit kulit yang berbahaya, atau penyakit kelamin, atau yang telah menyentuh mayat, harus dikeluarkan dari perkemahan orang Israel.

³Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.

³Mereka harus disuruh pergi, supaya tidak menajiskan perkemahan, di mana Aku tinggal bersama-sama dengan umat-Ku."

⁴And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.

⁴Orang Israel melakukan perintah itu dan mengeluarkan semua orang yang seperti itu dari perkemahan.

⁵And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

⁵TUHAN memberi kepada Musa

⁶Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;

⁶peraturan-peraturan ini untuk orang Israel: Apabila seseorang tidak setia kepada TUHAN dengan berbuat salah terhadap orang lain,

⁷Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.

⁷orang itu harus mengakui dosanya dan membayar tebusan dengan penuh, ditambah dua puluh persen, kepada orang yang dirugikannya.

⁸But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.

⁸Tetapi kalau orang yang dirugikannya itu sudah meninggal dan tidak mempunyai sanak saudara dekat, maka tebusan itu harus diberikan kepada TUHAN, dan menjadi bagian imam. Tebusan itu tidak termasuk domba jantan untuk upacara penghapusan dosa bagi orang yang bersalah itu.

⁹And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.

⁹Dari apa saja yang dipersembahkan orang Israel kepada TUHAN, persembahan khususnya menjadi bagian imam yang menerima persembahan itu.

¹⁰And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.

¹⁰Apa yang dipersembahkan seseorang kepada TUHAN, menjadi bagian orang itu sendiri. Hanya apa yang diserahkannya kepada seorang imam, menjadi bagian imam itu.

¹¹And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

¹¹TUHAN menyuruh Musa

¹²Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,

¹²memberi peraturan-peraturan ini kepada orang Israel. Boleh jadi seorang laki-laki mencurigai istrinya. Ia menyangka istrinya itu tidak setia kepadanya dan sudah mencemarkan dirinya karena bersetubuh dengan laki-laki lain. Tetapi suami itu tidak mempunyai kepastian, karena hal itu dilakukan istrinya dengan sembunyi-sembunyi; saksinya tidak ada, dan ia tidak tertangkap basah. Atau, boleh jadi seorang suami mencurigai istrinya, padahal istrinya itu tidak menyeleweng.

¹³And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;

¹³(5:12)

¹⁴And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:

¹⁴(5:12)

¹⁵Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

¹⁵Dalam kedua hal itu suami itu harus membawa istrinya kepada imam. Ia juga harus membawa persembahan yang diperlukan, yaitu satu kilogram tepung gandum. Tepung itu tak boleh dituangi minyak zaitun atau dibubuhi dupa, karena merupakan persembahan kecurigaan dan dimaksudkan untuk menandakan adanya kecurigaan suami terhadap istrinya.

¹⁶And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:

¹⁶Imam harus menyuruh wanita itu ke muka mezbah dan berdiri menghadap TUHAN.

¹⁷And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:

¹⁷Lalu imam harus mengambil sebuah mangkuk tanah dan menuangkan sedikit air suci ke dalamnya. Sesudah itu ia harus mengambil sedikit debu dari lantai Kemah TUHAN dan memasukkannya ke dalam air itu.

¹⁸And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:

¹⁸Kemudian ia harus menguraikan rambut wanita itu, dan menaruh tepung persembahan kecurigaan ke dalam tangannya, sedangkan imam sendiri memegang air pahit yang mendatangkan kutuk.

¹⁹And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:

¹⁹Sesudah itu imam harus mengucapkan sumpah dan minta wanita itu menyetujuinya. Imam harus berkata, "Jika engkau tidak berzinah, engkau tidak kena kutuk yang didatangkan oleh air ini.

²⁰But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:

²⁰Tetapi jika engkau telah berzinah,

²¹Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;

²¹semoga TUHAN membuat namamu menjadi sumpah kutuk di antara bangsamu. Semoga Ia membuat pangkal pahamu mengerut dan perutmu mengembung.

²²And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

²²Air yang mendatangkan kutuk ini akan masuk ke dalam perutmu dan membuatnya kembung dan mengerutkan pangkal pahamu." Wanita itu harus menjawab, "Saya setuju; semoga TUHAN berbuat begitu."

²³And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:

²³Lalu imam harus menulis kutuk itu pada kertas gulungan dan menghapusnya dengan air pahit itu.

²⁴And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.

²⁴Imam menyuruh wanita itu minum air pahit yang mendatangkan kutuk. Bila diminum, air itu menyebabkan rasa sakit.

²⁵Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:

²⁵Imam harus mengambil persembahan tepung itu, dan mengunjukkannya ke hadapan TUHAN, lalu membawanya ke mezbah.

²⁶And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.

²⁶Lalu ia harus mengambil segenggam tepung sebagai tanda bahwa semua tepung itu sudah dipersembahkan, lalu membakarnya di atas mezbah. Akhirnya air itu diminumkan kepada wanita itu.

²⁷And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

²⁷Andaikata wanita itu sudah berzinah, air itu menyebabkan ia merasa sakit sekali; perutnya mengembung dan pangkal pahanya mengerut. Namanya akan menjadi sumpah kutuk di kalangan bangsanya.

²⁸And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.

²⁸Tetapi andaikata ia tidak bersalah, ia tidak kena kutuk dan masih dapat beranak.

²⁹This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;

²⁹Begitulah peraturannya apabila seorang suami cemburu dan curiga bahwa istrinya sudah berbuat serong dan mencemarkan dirinya. Laki-laki itu harus menghadapkan istrinya itu kepada TUHAN dan imam harus melakukan peraturan itu terhadapnya.

³⁰Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

³⁰(5:29)

³¹Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.

³¹Laki-laki itu bebas dari kesalahan, tetapi istrinya, kalau ternyata bersalah, harus menanggung akibatnya.
