¹Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

¹イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「罪の誘惑が来ることは避けられない。しかし、それをきたらせる者は、わざわいである。

²It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

²これらの小さい者のひとりを罪に誘惑するよりは、むしろ、ひきうすを首にかけられて海に投げ入れられた方が、ましである。

³Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

³あなたがたは、自分で注意していなさい。もしあなたの兄弟が罪を犯すなら、彼をいさめなさい。そして悔い改めたら、ゆるしてやりなさい。

⁴And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

⁴もしあなたに対して一日に七度罪を犯し、そして七度『悔い改めます』と言ってあなたのところへ帰ってくれば、ゆるしてやるがよい」。

⁵And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

⁵使徒たちは主に「わたしたちの信仰を増してください」と言った。

⁶And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

⁶そこで主が言われた、「もし、からし種一粒ほどの信仰があるなら、この桑の木に、『抜け出して海に植われ』と言ったとしても、その言葉どおりになるであろう。

⁷But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

⁷あなたがたのうちのだれかに、耕作か牧畜かをする僕があるとする。その僕が畑から帰って来たとき、彼に『すぐきて、食卓につきなさい』と言うだろうか。

⁸And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

⁸かえって、『夕食の用意をしてくれ。そしてわたしが飲み食いをするあいだ、帯をしめて給仕をしなさい。そのあとで、飲み食いをするがよい』と、言うではないか。

⁹Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

⁹僕が命じられたことをしたからといって、主人は彼に感謝するだろうか。

¹⁰So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

¹⁰同様にあなたがたも、命じられたことを皆してしまったとき、『わたしたちはふつつかな僕です。すべき事をしたに過ぎません』と言いなさい」。

¹¹And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

¹¹イエスはエルサレムへ行かれるとき、サマリヤとガリラヤとの間を通られた。

¹²And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

¹²そして、ある村にはいられると、十人のらい病人に出会われたが、彼らは遠くの方で立ちとどまり、

¹³And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

¹³声を張りあげて、「イエスさま、わたしたちをあわれんでください」と言った。

¹⁴And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

¹⁴イエスは彼らをごらんになって、「祭司たちのところに行って、からだを見せなさい」と言われた。そして、行く途中で彼らはきよめられた。

¹⁵And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

¹⁵そのうちのひとりは、自分がいやされたことを知り、大声で神をほめたたえながら帰ってきて、

¹⁶And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

¹⁶イエスの足もとにひれ伏して感謝した。これはサマリヤ人であった。

¹⁷And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

¹⁷イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「きよめられたのは、十人ではなかったか。ほかの九人は、どこにいるのか。

¹⁸There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

¹⁸神をほめたたえるために帰ってきたものは、この他国人のほかにはいないのか」。

¹⁹And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

¹⁹それから、その人に言われた、「立って行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのだ」。

²⁰And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

²⁰神の国はいつ来るのかと、パリサイ人が尋ねたので、イエスは答えて言われた、「神の国は、見られるかたちで来るものではない。

²¹Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

²¹また『見よ、ここにある』『あそこにある』などとも言えない。神の国は、実にあなたがたのただ中にあるのだ」。

²²And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

²²それから弟子たちに言われた、「あなたがたは、人の子の日を一日でも見たいと願っても見ることができない時が来るであろう。

²³And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

²³人々はあなたがたに、『見よ、あそこに』『見よ、ここに』と言うだろう。しかし、そちらへ行くな、彼らのあとを追うな。

²⁴For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

²⁴いなずまが天の端からひかり出て天の端へとひらめき渡るように、人の子もその日には同じようであるだろう。

²⁵But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

²⁵しかし、彼はまず多くの苦しみを受け、またこの時代の人々に捨てられねばならない。

²⁶And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

²⁶そして、ノアの時にあったように、人の子の時にも同様なことが起るであろう。

²⁷They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

²⁷ノアが箱舟にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていたが、そこへ洪水が襲ってきて、彼らをことごとく滅ぼした。

²⁸Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

²⁸ロトの時にも同じようなことが起った。人々は食い、飲み、買い、売り、植え、建てなどしていたが、

²⁹But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

²⁹ロトがソドムから出て行った日に、天から火と硫黄とが降ってきて、彼らをことごとく滅ぼした。

³⁰Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

³⁰人の子が現れる日も、ちょうどそれと同様であろう。

³¹In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

³¹その日には、屋上にいる者は、自分の持ち物が家の中にあっても、取りにおりるな。畑にいる者も同じように、あとへもどるな。

³²Remember Lot's wife.

³²ロトの妻のことを思い出しなさい。

³³Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

³³自分の命を救おうとするものは、それを失い、それを失うものは、保つのである。

³⁴I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

³⁴あなたがたに言っておく。その夜、ふたりの男が一つ寝床にいるならば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう。

³⁵Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

³⁵ふたりの女が一緒にうすをひいているならば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう。〔

³⁶Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

³⁶ふたりの男が畑におれば、ひとりは取り去られ、他のひとりは残されるであろう〕」。弟子たちは「主よ、それはどこであるのですか」と尋ねた。するとイエスは言われた、「死体のある所には、またはげたかが集まるものである」。

³⁷And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
