¹And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

¹イエスが宮から出て行こうとしておられると、弟子たちは近寄ってきて、宮の建物にイエスの注意を促した。

²And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

²そこでイエスは彼らにむかって言われた、「あなたがたは、これらすべてのものを見ないか。よく言っておく。その石一つでもくずされずに、そこに他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。

³And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

³またオリブ山ですわっておられると、弟子たちが、ひそかにみもとにきて言った、「どうぞお話しください。いつ、そんなことが起るのでしょうか。あなたがまたおいでになる時や、世の終りには、どんな前兆がありますか」。

⁴And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

⁴そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。

⁵For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

⁵多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がキリストだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。

⁶And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

⁶また、戦争と戦争のうわさとを聞くであろう。注意していなさい、あわててはいけない。それは起らねばならないが、まだ終りではない。

⁷For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

⁷民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに、ききんが起り、また地震があるであろう。

⁸All these are the beginning of sorrows.

⁸しかし、すべてこれらは産みの苦しみの初めである。

⁹Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

⁹そのとき人々は、あなたがたを苦しみにあわせ、また殺すであろう。またあなたがたは、わたしの名のゆえにすべての民に憎まれるであろう。

¹⁰And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

¹⁰そのとき、多くの人がつまずき、また互に裏切り、憎み合うであろう。

¹¹And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

¹¹また多くのにせ預言者が起って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。

¹²And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

¹²また不法がはびこるので、多くの人の愛が冷えるであろう。

¹³But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

¹³しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。

¹⁴And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

¹⁴そしてこの御国の福音は、すべての民に対してあかしをするために、全世界に宣べ伝えられるであろう。そしてそれから最後が来るのである。

¹⁵When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

¹⁵預言者ダニエルによって言われた荒らす憎むべき者が、聖なる場所に立つのを見たならば（読者よ、悟れ）、

¹⁶Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

¹⁶そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。

¹⁷Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

¹⁷屋上にいる者は、家からものを取り出そうとして下におりるな。

¹⁸Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

¹⁸畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。

¹⁹And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

¹⁹その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。

²⁰But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

²⁰あなたがたの逃げるのが、冬または安息日にならないように祈れ。

²¹For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

²¹その時には、世の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような大きな患難が起るからである。

²²And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

²²もしその期間が縮められないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選民のためには、その期間が縮められるであろう。

²³Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

²³そのとき、だれかがあなたがたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』、また、『あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。

²⁴For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

²⁴にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起って、大いなるしるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。

²⁵Behold, I have told you before.

²⁵見よ、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。

²⁶Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

²⁶だから、人々が『見よ、彼は荒野にいる』と言っても、出て行くな。また『見よ、へやの中にいる』と言っても、信じるな。

²⁷For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

²⁷ちょうど、いなずまが東から西にひらめき渡るように、人の子も現れるであろう。

²⁸For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

²⁸死体のあるところには、はげたかが集まるものである。

²⁹Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

²⁹しかし、その時に起る患難の後、たちまち日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。

³⁰And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

³⁰そのとき、人の子のしるしが天に現れるであろう。またそのとき、地のすべての民族は嘆き、そして力と大いなる栄光とをもって、人の子が天の雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。

³¹And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

³¹また、彼は大いなるラッパの音と共に御使たちをつかわして、天のはてからはてに至るまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。

³²Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

³²いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。

³³So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

³³そのように、すべてこれらのことを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。

³⁴Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

³⁴よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起るまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。

³⁵Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

³⁵天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。

³⁶But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

³⁶その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天の御使たちも、また子も知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。

³⁷But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³⁷人の子の現れるのも、ちょうどノアの時のようであろう。

³⁸For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

³⁸すなわち、洪水の出る前、ノアが箱舟にはいる日まで、人々は食い、飲み、めとり、とつぎなどしていた。

³⁹And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³⁹そして洪水が襲ってきて、いっさいのものをさらって行くまで、彼らは気がつかなかった。人の子の現れるのも、そのようであろう。

⁴⁰Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

⁴⁰そのとき、ふたりの者が畑にいると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは取り残されるであろう。

⁴¹Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

⁴¹ふたりの女がうすをひいていると、ひとりは取り去られ、ひとりは残されるであろう。

⁴²Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

⁴²だから、目をさましていなさい。いつの日にあなたがたの主がこられるのか、あなたがたには、わからないからである。

⁴³But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

⁴³このことをわきまえているがよい。家の主人は、盗賊がいつごろ来るかわかっているなら、目をさましていて、自分の家に押し入ることを許さないであろう。

⁴⁴Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

⁴⁴だから、あなたがたも用意をしていなさい。思いがけない時に人の子が来るからである。

⁴⁵Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

⁴⁵主人がその家の僕たちの上に立てて、時に応じて食物をそなえさせる忠実な思慮深い僕は、いったい、だれであろう。

⁴⁶Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

⁴⁶主人が帰ってきたとき、そのようにつとめているのを見られる僕は、さいわいである。

⁴⁷Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

⁴⁷よく言っておくが、主人は彼を立てて自分の全財産を管理させるであろう。

⁴⁸But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

⁴⁸もしそれが悪い僕であって、自分の主人は帰りがおそいと心の中で思い、

⁴⁹And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

⁴⁹その僕仲間をたたきはじめ、また酒飲み仲間と一緒に食べたり飲んだりしているなら、

⁵⁰The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

⁵⁰その僕の主人は思いがけない日、気がつかない時に帰ってきて、彼を厳罰に処し、偽善者たちと同じ目にあわせるであろう。彼はそこで泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。

⁵¹And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
