¹Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

¹主よ、わたしの祈をお聞きください。わたしの叫びをみ前に至らせてください。

²Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

²わたしの悩みの日にみ顔を隠すことなく、あなたの耳をわたしに傾け、わが呼ばわる日に、すみやかにお答えください。

³For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

³わたしの日は煙のように消え、わたしの骨は炉のように燃えるからです。

⁴My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

⁴わたしの心は草のように撃たれて、しおれました。わたしはパンを食べることを忘れました。

⁵By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

⁵わが嘆きの声によってわたしの骨はわたしの肉に着きます。

⁶I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

⁶わたしは荒野のはげたかのごとく、荒れた跡のふくろうのようです。

⁷I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

⁷わたしは眠らずに屋根にひとりいるすずめのようです。

⁸Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

⁸わたしの敵はひねもす、わたしをそしり、わたしをあざける者はわが名によってのろいます。

⁹For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.

⁹わたしは灰をパンのように食べ、わたしの飲み物に涙を交えました。

¹⁰Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

¹⁰これはあなたの憤りと怒りのゆえです。あなたはわたしをもたげて投げすてられました。

¹¹My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

¹¹わたしのよわいは夕暮の日影のようです。わたしは草のようにしおれました。

¹²But thou, O LORD, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

¹²しかし主よ、あなたはとこしえにみくらに座し、そのみ名はよろず代に及びます。

¹³Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

¹³あなたは立ってシオンをあわれまれるでしょう。これはシオンを恵まれる時であり、定まった時が来たからです。

¹⁴For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

¹⁴あなたのしもべはシオンの石をも喜び、そのちりをさえあわれむのです。

¹⁵So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

¹⁵もろもろの国民は主のみ名を恐れ、地のもろもろの王はあなたの栄光を恐れるでしょう。

¹⁶When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

¹⁶主はシオンを築き、その栄光をもって現れ、

¹⁷He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

¹⁷乏しい者の祈をかえりみ、彼らの願いをかろしめられないからです。

¹⁸This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

¹⁸きたるべき代のために、この事を書きしるしましょう。そうすれば新しく造られる民は、主をほめたたえるでしょう。

¹⁹For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

¹⁹主はその聖なる高き所から見おろし、天から地を見られた。

²⁰To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

²⁰これは捕われ人の嘆きを聞き、死に定められた者を解き放ち、

²¹To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

²¹人々がシオンで主のみ名をあらわし、エルサレムでその誉をあらわすためです。

²²When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

²²その時もろもろの民、もろもろの国はともに集まって、主に仕えるでしょう。

²³He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

²³主はわたしの力を中途でくじき、わたしのよわいを短くされました。

²⁴I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

²⁴わたしは言いました、「わが神よ、どうか、わたしのよわいの半ばでわたしを取り去らないでください。あなたのよわいはよろず代に及びます」と。

²⁵Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

²⁵あなたはいにしえ、地の基をすえられました。天もまたあなたのみ手のわざです。

²⁶They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

²⁶これらは滅びるでしょう。しかしあなたは長らえられます。これらはみな衣のように古びるでしょう。あなたがこれらを上着のように替えられると、これらは過ぎ去ります。

²⁷But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

²⁷しかしあなたは変ることなく、あなたのよわいは終ることがありません。あなたのしもべの子らは安らかに住み、その子孫はあなたの前に堅く立てられるでしょう。

²⁸The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

²⁸あなたのしもべの子らは安らかに住み、その子孫はあなたの前に堅く立てられるでしょう。
