¹Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

¹主よ、わが心はおごらず、わが目は高ぶらず、わたしはわが力の及ばない大いなる事とくすしきわざとに関係いたしません。

²Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

²かえって、乳離れしたみどりごが、その母のふところに安らかにあるように、わたしはわが魂を静め、かつ安らかにしました。わが魂は乳離れしたみどりごのように、安らかです。イスラエルよ、今からとこしえに主によって望みをいだけ。
