¹Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

¹主よ、わたしは深い淵からあなたに呼ばわる。

²Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

²主よ、どうか、わが声を聞き、あなたの耳をわが願いの声に傾けてください。

³If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

³主よ、あなたがもし、もろもろの不義に目をとめられるならば、主よ、だれが立つことができましょうか。

⁴But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

⁴しかしあなたには、ゆるしがあるので、人に恐れかしこまれるでしょう。

⁵I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

⁵わたしは主を待ち望みます、わが魂は待ち望みます。そのみ言葉によって、わたしは望みをいだきます。

⁶My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

⁶わが魂は夜回りが暁を待つにまさり、夜回りが暁を待つにまさって主を待ち望みます。

⁷Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

⁷イスラエルよ、主によって望みをいだけ。主には、いつくしみがあり、また豊かなあがないがあるからです。主はイスラエルをそのもろもろの不義からあがなわれます。

⁸And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
