¹I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.

¹わたしは声を出して主に呼ばわり、声を出して主に願い求めます。

²I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

²わたしはみ前にわが嘆きを注ぎ出し、み前にわが悩みをあらわします。

³When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

³わが霊のわがうちに消えうせようとする時も、あなたはわが道を知られます。彼らはわたしを捕えようとわたしの行く道にわなを隠しました。

⁴I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

⁴わたしは右の方に目を注いで見回したが、わたしに心をとめる者はひとりもありません。わたしには避け所がなく、わたしをかえりみる人はありません。

⁵I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

⁵主よ、わたしはあなたに呼ばわります。わたしは言います、「あなたはわが避け所、生ける者の地でわたしの受くべき分です。

⁶Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

⁶どうか、わが叫びにみこころをとめてください。わたしは、はなはだしく低くされています。わたしを責める者から助け出してください。彼らはわたしにまさって強いのです。わたしをひとやから出し、み名に感謝させてください。あなたが豊かにわたしをあしらわれるので、正しい人々はわたしのまわりに集まるでしょう」。

⁷Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
