¹Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

¹わが岩なる主はほむべきかな。主は、いくさすることをわが手に教え、戦うことをわが指に教えられます。

²My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

²主はわが岩、わが城、わが高きやぐら、わが救主、わが盾、わが寄り頼む者です。主はもろもろの民をおのれに従わせられます。

³LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

³主よ、人は何ものなので、あなたはこれをかえりみ、人の子は何ものなので、これをみこころに、とめられるのですか。

⁴Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

⁴人は息にひとしく、その日は過ぎゆく影にひとしいのです。

⁵Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

⁵主よ、あなたの天を垂れてくだり、山に触れて煙を出させてください。

⁶Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

⁶いなずまを放って彼らを散らし、矢を放って彼らを打ち敗ってください。

⁷Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;

⁷高い所からみ手を伸べて、わたしを救い、大水から、異邦人の手からわたしを助け出してください。

⁸Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

⁸彼らの口は偽りを言い、その右の手は偽りの右の手です。

⁹I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

⁹神よ、わたしは新しい歌をあなたにむかって歌い、十弦の立琴にあわせてあなたをほめ歌います。

¹⁰It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

¹⁰あなたは王たちに勝利を与え、そのしもべダビデを救われます。

¹¹Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

¹¹わたしを残忍なつるぎから救い、異邦人の手から助け出してください。彼らの口は偽りを言い、その右の手は偽りの右の手です。

¹²That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

¹²われらのむすこたちはその若い時、よく育った草木のようです。われらの娘たちは宮の建物のために刻まれたすみの柱のようです。

¹³That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:

¹³われらの倉は満ちて様々の物を備え、われらの羊は野でちよろずの子を産み、

¹⁴That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

¹⁴われらの家畜はみごもって子を産むに誤ることなく、われらのちまたには悩みの叫びがありません。このような祝福をもつ民はさいわいです。主をおのが神とする民はさいわいです。

¹⁵Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
