¹Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

¹主よ、正しい訴えを聞き、わたしの叫びにみ心をとめ、偽りのないくちびるから出るわたしの祈に耳を傾けてください。

²Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

²どうかわたしについての宣告がみ前から出て、あなたの目が公平をみられるように。

³Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

³あなたがわたしの心をためし、夜、わたしに臨み、わたしを試みられても、わたしのうちになんの悪い思いをも見いだされないでしょう。わたしの口も罪を犯しません。

⁴Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

⁴人のおこないの事をいえば、あなたのくちびるの言葉によって、わたしは不法な者の道を避けました。

⁵Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

⁵わたしの歩みはあなたの道に堅く立ち、わたしの足はすべることがなかったのです。

⁶I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

⁶神よ、わたしはあなたに呼ばわります。あなたはわたしに答えられます。どうか耳を傾けて、わたしの述べることをお聞きください。

⁷Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

⁷寄り頼む者をそのあだから右の手で救われる者よ、あなたのいつくしみを驚くばかりにあらわし、

⁸Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

⁸ひとみのようにわたしを守り、みつばさの陰にわたしを隠し、

⁹From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

⁹わたしをしえたげる悪しき者から、わたしを囲む恐ろしい敵から、のがれさせてください。

¹⁰They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

¹⁰彼らはその心を閉じて、あわれむことなく、その口をもって高ぶって語るのです。

¹¹They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

¹¹彼らはわたしを追いつめ、わたしを囲み、わたしを地に投げ倒さんと、その目をそそぎます。

¹²Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

¹²彼らはかき裂かんと、いらだつししのごとく、隠れた所にひそみ待つ子じしのようです。

¹³Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

¹³主よ、立ちあがって、彼らに立ちむかい、彼らを倒してください。つるぎをもって悪しき者からわたしのいのちをお救いください。

¹⁴From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

¹⁴主よ、み手をもって人々からわたしをお救いください。すなわち自分の分け前をこの世で受け、あなたの宝をもってその腹を満たされる世の人々からわたしをお救いください。彼らは多くの子に飽き足り、その富を幼な子に残すのです。しかしわたしは義にあって、み顔を見、目ざめる時、みかたちを見て、満ち足りるでしょう。

¹⁵As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
