¹My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

¹わが神、わが神、なにゆえわたしを捨てられるのですか。なにゆえ遠く離れてわたしを助けず、わたしの嘆きの言葉を聞かれないのですか。

²O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

²わが神よ、わたしが昼よばわっても、あなたは答えられず、夜よばわっても平安を得ません。

³But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

³しかしイスラエルのさんびの上に座しておられるあなたは聖なるおかたです。

⁴Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

⁴われらの先祖たちはあなたに信頼しました。彼らが信頼したので、あなたは彼らを助けられました。

⁵They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

⁵彼らはあなたに呼ばわって救われ、あなたに信頼して恥をうけなかったのです。

⁶But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

⁶しかし、わたしは虫であって、人ではない。人にそしられ、民に侮られる。

⁷All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

⁷すべてわたしを見る者は、わたしをあざ笑い、くちびるを突き出し、かしらを振り動かして言う、

⁸He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

⁸「彼は主に身をゆだねた、主に彼を助けさせよ。主は彼を喜ばれるゆえ、主に彼を救わせよ」と。

⁹But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

⁹しかし、あなたはわたしを生れさせ、母のふところにわたしを安らかに守られた方です。

¹⁰I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

¹⁰わたしは生れた時から、あなたにゆだねられました。母の胎を出てからこのかた、あなたはわたしの神でいらせられました。

¹¹Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

¹¹わたしを遠く離れないでください。悩みが近づき、助ける者がないのです。

¹²Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

¹²多くの雄牛はわたしを取り巻き、バシャンの強い雄牛はわたしを囲み、

¹³They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

¹³かき裂き、ほえたけるししのように、わたしにむかって口を開く。

¹⁴I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

¹⁴わたしは水のように注ぎ出され、わたしの骨はことごとくはずれ、わたしの心臓は、ろうのように、胸のうちで溶けた。

¹⁵My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

¹⁵わたしの力は陶器の破片のようにかわき、わたしの舌はあごにつく。あなたはわたしを死のちりに伏させられる。

¹⁶For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

¹⁶まことに、犬はわたしをめぐり、悪を行う者の群れがわたしを囲んで、わたしの手と足を刺し貫いた。

¹⁷I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

¹⁷わたしは自分の骨をことごとく数えることができる。彼らは目をとめて、わたしを見る。

¹⁸They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

¹⁸彼らは互にわたしの衣服を分け、わたしの着物をくじ引にする。

¹⁹But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

¹⁹しかし主よ、遠く離れないでください。わが力よ、速く来てわたしをお助けください。

²⁰Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

²⁰わたしの魂をつるぎから、わたしのいのちを犬の力から助け出してください。

²¹Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

²¹わたしをししの口から、苦しむわが魂を野牛の角から救い出してください。

²²I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

²²わたしはあなたのみ名を兄弟たちに告げ、会衆の中であなたをほめたたえるでしょう。

²³Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

²³主を恐れる者よ、主をほめたたえよ。ヤコブのもろもろのすえよ、主をあがめよ。イスラエルのもろもろのすえよ、主をおじおそれよ。

²⁴For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

²⁴主が苦しむ者の苦しみをかろんじ、いとわれず、またこれにみ顔を隠すことなく、その叫ぶときに聞かれたからである。

²⁵My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

²⁵大いなる会衆の中で、わたしのさんびはあなたから出るのです。わたしは主を恐れる者の前で、わたしの誓いを果します。

²⁶The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

²⁶貧しい者は食べて飽くことができ、主を尋ね求める者は主をほめたたえるでしょう。どうか、あなたがたの心がとこしえに生きるように。

²⁷All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

²⁷地のはての者はみな思い出して、主に帰り、もろもろの国のやからはみな、み前に伏し拝むでしょう。

²⁸For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations.

²⁸国は主のものであって、主はもろもろの国民を統べ治められます。

²⁹All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

²⁹地の誇り高ぶる者はみな主を拝み、ちりに下る者も、おのれを生きながらえさせえない者も、みなそのみ前にひざまずくでしょう。

³⁰A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

³⁰子々孫々、主に仕え、人々は主のことをきたるべき代まで語り伝え、主がなされたその救を後に生れる民にのべ伝えるでしょう。

³¹They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

³¹主がなされたその救を後に生れる民にのべ伝えるでしょう。
