17

1The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

2The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
2Eb li tenamit li cuanqueb Aroer teßcanâk chi mâcßaß chic cristian. Eb li carner teßcuaßak aran ut mâ ani tâseßbesînk reheb saß li naßajej aßan.
3The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
3Mâcßaßak chic lix tenamit li ralal xcßajol laj Efraín li queßxcauresi ribeb. Ut mâcßaßak chic xcuanquil Damasco. Eb laj Siria li incßaß queßsacheß ruheb xutânal teßcanâk joß eb laj Israel, chan li nimajcual Dios.
4And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
4Saß eb li cutan aßan tâsachekß lix cuanquilaleb li ralal xcßajol laj Jacob. Ut tâsachekß ajcuiß lix biomaleb.
5And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
5Li naßajej Israel nayamnac tâcanâk joß jun lix naßaj li acuîmk nak ac xsiqßueß li ru. Chanchanak li ru takßa re Refaim nak ac sicßbil chixjunil li ru li acuîmk li na-el saß li naßajej aßan.
6Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.

7At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
7Saß eb li cutan aßan eb li cristian teßxtzßâma xtenkßanquil riqßuin li Kâcuaß li quiyoßobtesin reheb. Teßsukßîk cuißchic riqßuin li Dios santo, lix Dioseb laj Israel.
8And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
8Incßaß chic teßxcßojob xchßôleb riqßuineb li artal li queßxyîb riqßuin rukßeb. Incßaß chic teßxlokßoni lix jalam ûch lix Asera li queßxyîb, chi moco teßxlokßoni li sakße.
9In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation.
9Saß eb li cutan aßan, eb li tenamit li cauresinbileb chi us re xcolbaleb rib teßtzßektânâk joß eb li tenamit li queßsacheß nak xeßêlelic chiruheb laj Israel. Chanchanakeb chic li ru li cheß li xcanabâc toj saß rußuj. Eb li tenamit teßcanabâk chi mâcßaß chic cuan chi saß.
10Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:
10Lâex aj Israel, xetzßektâna li Kâcuaß laj colol êre. Incßaß xepatzß êtenkßanquil re li Dios li chanchan li sakônac li xecol cuiß raj êrib. Xerau ban li acuîmk chßinaßus re xqßuebal xlokßal li jalanil dios.
11In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
11Nak nequex-au, nequeril chi us re nak nayoßla ut joß cuulaj nequeroybeni nak tixqßue li ratzßum. Abanan nak tâchâlk li raylal saß êbên chixjunil li cßaßru xerau tâsachk.
12Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
12Raylal tâchâlk saß xbêneb li xnînkal ru tenamit li nequeßchokin nak nequeßchal chi pletic. Chanchan li chokînc li naxbânu li palau, malaj ut joß nak na-ecßan lix cau ok li haß.
13The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
13Nak teßchâlk li tenamit chi pletic chanchanakeb lix cau ok li haß. Abanan nak li Dios tixkßuseb, teßêlelik ut teßxic chi najt yalak bar. Chanchanakeb lix mokoj ixim li nacßameß xban ikß saß eb li tzûl. Chanchanakeb li poks li nacßameß xban ikß li naxsuti rib.Saß li ecuu teßchâlk chikasachbal. Abanan nak tâsakêuk, ac mâ anihakeb chic. Joßcaßin nak nequeßosoß chixjunileb li nequeßraj xchapbal chokß reheb li cßaßru ke lâo.
14And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
14Saß li ecuu teßchâlk chikasachbal. Abanan nak tâsakêuk, ac mâ anihakeb chic. Joßcaßin nak nequeßosoß chixjunileb li nequeßraj xchapbal chokß reheb li cßaßru ke lâo.
